Impeccable taste, sir

So I’m browsing through the Buy.com deal alerts, and I come across this Swiss Legend Legato watch and think to myself, “Self, that is a very nice looking watch for a man.” But it’s $155 on sale, and I’m wondering if that’s a reasonable price for that watch. Because I’m a cheapskate, you know, and $155 for a watch seems a little steep to me.

So then I clicked on over to Amazon to compare, and what do you know—it’s $600 there.

Not a bad discount on a self-winding watch, I suppose.

  1. Vote time. How many people who read WantNot.net wear a watch that they would want to insure?

  2. I buy $5 watches so I don’t have to worry about whatever happens to it. BB, I’m with you.

But, hey, what a bargain! Right?? 🙂

  3. My watch is insured. My husband has 2 watches that are insured.

And I consider myself a very loyal Want Not reader!

  4. I’m not sure what the problem is, BB. So the watch isn’t in your price range. Perhaps the next deal will fit you better. If Mir posts something that doesn’t fit me exactly, I don’t snark out. For example, I don’t have a dog, but I don’t complain when she posts deals on dog stuff because other people have dogs, and they might really appreciate saving $350 on something that they might not otherwise be able to afford. And, BTW, your $36 watch is $16 more than I paid for my last watch. Acceptable price point is all relative, as are deals on dog stuff and watches.
