I’ve been shopping around for one of those all-in-one iPod dock thingies, you know, a combination alarm clock/radio/speakers kind of thing, so that 1) my tween might actually wake up on time occasionally and 2) she might sometimes take the earphones off so that she can hear me. I know, they’re probably both pipe dreams.
Regardless, I find myself rather enchanted with this Pixxo MiniBooMX 2.1 Audio System available today at Buy.com for just $30 shipped, because it’s not only all of those things, let’s face it: It’s adorable. It’s a tiny widdle boom box! I just want to hug it and squeeze it and call it George.
It’s possible I’ve had just a touch too much coffee, but still. It’s quite a deal. (Just for reference: This was a previous Meijer Daily Steal at $50. I don’t know about you, but I’d rather pay $30 than $50!)
That’s a great deal. I searched and searched over Christmas for a deal like this and came up short. My son ended up with a unit with a clock but no alarm for more than this price. I was so tired of looking around, I finally just had to just settle at my price point by sacrificing something.

I’ve looked for one of these for forever… I bought one several months ago but found that I couldn’t read the time on that type of display (backlit black numbers). It might just be my horrible vision, though; it was *very* bright if I turned on the backlight to check the time in the middle of the night. Sort of seared my retinas and made it hard to get back to sleep.
