Smoothies, anyone?

If you’ll recall from the post I wrote about power smoothies for the kids, we are a big smoothie family. And you may further recall that I searched high and low for a protein powder additive that tastes great and isn’t laden with chemicals.

Of course, as soon as I found said powder, it proceeded to go up in price. Hmph. But I check on it every few days, and today is a good day—right now the French Vanilla Designer Whey 2.1 lb tub at Amazon is $18.72. I generally hop on over and buy a tub whenever the price dips below $20. This is the best-tasting protein powder I’ve found that doesn’t contain aspartame, sucralose, or corn syrup. (Because hi, yuck, why would you want that stuff in your smoothie?) It’s sweetened with stevia, which means it tastes great without calories or chemicals.

They should hire me to be their spokesperson. I could make everyone green smoothies while singing their praises. Heh.

Anyway, if you’re in the market for all-natural protein powder on the cheap, you might want to get in on the deal before they raise the price again.

  1. Thanks ever so muchly for that power smoothie post awhile back; it turned me completely around about smoothies. I used to hate them – turns out I’d just never really learned how to make them!

  2. I’m still waiting for them to declare that Stevia is killing us all.

  3. Sold! And I went back to the other post and ordered the Salba. Because I’m extra pretty.

  4. Gluten-free?

EG – you’re late to the party! Stevia has already been found to be toxic. Of course, that was later reversed, but you can still find lots of sites that claim it’s bad for you – so very, very bad. 😛

  6. Bummer, that won’t work for me either, because I stay away from stevia too. I use my fancy non-homogenized organic milk for the protein factor, and add spirulina when I’m feeling funky. I use medjool dates to sweeten. I am a super picky eater, and I can’t taste them at all when they’re in the smoothie. All I can taste is the lovely sweetness factor.

  7. I think I’m the only person in the world that doesn’t like the taste of this protein powder – but it’s indicative of Mir’s powers that, when I saw this post, I not-so-briefly entertained buying another tub of the stuff.
