It’s the end of the summer as we know it

Did you realize we’re just about a week out from Labor Day? It’s true. I totally want a refund on my summer; I’m not sure where it went. Traditionally, of course, Labor Day marks the end of the season.

Savvy shoppers know that the true end of the season is when the sandals and bathing suits go on final clearance. Obviously. And I guess that would be today—check out 6pm.com for some of their lowest prices of the season on everything you need to rock the beach next year.

It’s easy to get overwhelmed when they have 42 pages of stuff in a sale category, of course, so I’ll just mention that in my quick look-through I saw some incredible prices on Reefs and Havianas in the shoes, and some deep discounts on Speedo and Tyr (and on guys’ jammers, in case you have a kid on swim team who needs those for practice) in the suits.

They also seem to have a lot of ruffly bikinis, but, um, I’m a little old for those. Knock yourself out, though.

  1. And I feel fine!

    Sorry, couldn’t resist.

  2. Brigitte, I was thinking the same thing!

My eyes glaze over when I see that many pages of sale, too. I prefer to click through a couple of pages, once my size is filtered, this early in the a.m.

  3. Just to save someone a little time: If you are looking for practice suits in TYR or Speedo, there aren’t any available smaller than a size 30 that I could find, and I think I checked them all. Oh well, can’t score on every deal. Thanks anyway, Mir! Now since I shopped for my girls, I can check out shoes for me!

  4. Um, Mir – you live in a place that wears sandals for more of the year than I do. Can you explain these? http://www.6pm.com/sanuk-the-tube-flop-gold Ha. Ha. Hardy har har. I am definitely not working that look…ever.

  5. Gennie: No. No, I can’t. Heh.
