Alert (and pretty! don’t forget pretty!) reader Melanie shot me an email this morning to point out that Amazon has the Cuisinart HM-70 7-Speed Hand Mixer available for just under $37. While the “original” price listed is pretty inflated, that’s still a good $10 under what it’s going for anywhere else. And Melanie reports that this model is one of Cooks Illustrated’s best-rated.
This is not an appliance to buy if you’re happy with the $10 hand blender you picked up at Kohls or Target as a doorbuster, by the way. But it is the one to buy if you’ve burned out the motor on a hand blender before. Or more than one, if you were then dumb enough to buy a similarly cheap hand mixer to replace the one you fried, before you wised up and bought a good one. Not that I would know anything about that. Ahem.
