Hey hey, Amazon deals

A few hits at Amazon today, for those of you who like to leave your holiday shopping for as late as humanly possible (heh):

Today’s Gold Box offering is the Scotch TL901 Laminator for just $17. There was a rebate deal on this laminator a while back, but if you missed it, $17 is a great price on a handy little machine. Or this would be a very generous teacher gift for those of you who have kids little enough that lamination is still an important part of their classroom experience.

If you’ve been hemming and hawing about an iPod Touch, maybe I can help… right now Amazon has the latest generation 32 GB iPod Touch available for $270 with a $25 gift card. The gift card is available only on this size, and don’t forget to add it to your cart (it’s not automatic) if you buy.

Still on the fence about getting a Wii? Two available deals, right now: Choose either the black Wii Sports Resort bundle for $177, or get the white Wii Sports Resort bundle for $199 and get a $50 Amazon credit! Personally I cannot imagine wanting the black so badly as to give up $22 in free money, but to each their own.

Twelve days left ’til Christmas, folks. Just thought I’d throw that friendly reminder out there.

  1. Late as humanly possible?? There are 12 full days left!

  2. I understand the words you’re saying, Kathy, but I don’t understand then strung together like that. It’s almost as if you’re suggesting it makes sense to still be shopping now. 😉

  3. I took advantage of that laminator rebate offer awhile back and I absolutely LOVE the laminator but I never got my rebate check! ergh! I hope it comes!

  4. Rebate checks always take forever, LeAnna. We haven’t gotten ours yet, either, but I think they have until the end of January from what I calculated when we sent it in.

  5. Do you have to add the amazon credit to the cart? Does it do it after you check out?

  6. Found this, The promotional credit will be placed directly in your Amazon.com account within two days after your qualifying item ships, once processing is complete.

  7. Ooh, I really want the laminator but can’t justify it just yet… maybe next time.

  8. Sweet!! Thank you for posting the itouch deal, my husband lost his earlier this year and we needed to replace it before he deploys in January. He is going to use it as his camera and for skyping “on the go” while overseas. What a great start to the week!

  9. Since we are wanting an extra controller, should we get the $50 credit and pay more for the Wii? Can we just apply the credit towards our Amazon card after we recieve it? What would you do? Right now I’m seeing the Wii remote and nunchuck for around 36, so we’d be left with the extra credit. I’m afraid Amazon won’t sell the bundle, or it will be too late once we get the credit. Uhg. I’m thinking outloud.
    What do you think??

  10. Heather, assuming you do regular shopping at Amazon, I think the bundle with the $50 credit is the best deal, regardless of how you then decide to pursue a second controller.

  11. Nevermind…I realized what I was saying once I said it….I got the wii with the credit. 🙂 Love your site, thanks!

  12. Actually got the laminator for my daughter’s 4th grade class…the school is doing a big push for recycling and she is a first year teacher who always needs something (or worse case she can let the other teachers have it), I’m thinking laminated sheets for multiplication review-how fast can you fill it out drills…or spelling sheets, write the words get it checked and erase and move on…or enrichment sheets that the kids do when they have time…or wall decor so it doesn’t get ruined and need to be replaced every year…or a million other things that I can’t think of right now… or is 4th grade to old for this??

  13. As an elementary school teacher, I can vouch for the laminator being a very handy idea! Even though my school has one in the teacher workroom, we always run out of lamination at the end of the year, and it’s nice to still be able to make things! It’s also great for making materials at home over the summer.

  14. Thanks Erin, I don’t think our school has one (I think the K teacher has one but that’s it)…I’m hoping she likes it and as a first year teacher I know she hasn’t accumulated those types of things yet and I bought the 5o pouches for full size sheets so hope she doesn’t run out to fast (class is only 10 students!)!
