In search of perfect lips

I have a confession to make. My name is Mir, and I… I… I am a lip gloss addict. Phew. I feel so much better now that I shared that with you.

The truth is that I wear very little makeup, and I don’t wear it very often, even (the dog doesn’t mind if I skip the makeup to sit at my computer for most of the day…), but I always have a balm or gloss in my purse, and I’m constantly on the hunt for the product that’s going to keep my lips moisturized and add just a little bit of color/shine. I feel a little bit like Goldilocks with all the products I’ve been going through, but it’s okay. I will find my perfect product. Someday.

Today I’m trying this: Amazon currently has an assortment of Covergirl Natureluxe gloss balms available with free shipping, and if you scroll down the page a little you should also see an available $3 coupon you can clip. Most of the colors are already on sale, and some can be bought via Subscribe & Save for extra savings—either way, they’re around $3-$5 after coupon.

Worth a try, right?

  1. I am the same: very little make-up, but I like a little tinted lip balm. So I looked at all the colors a million times, narrowed it down to about four I couldn’t decide among, and ordered the one that was the cheapest: I got Peony for $2.99 after the coupon.

  2. I am the same way, very addicted to all lip products. Just like you, I was on the hunt for “the perfect lip balm with color”, thinking I would never find it. But I did. Last week. And I’m in love. It’s a bit pricey but it is so worth it, makes your lips feel like velvet and adds the perfect amount of color. It’s mentioned in just about every magazine as the “it” product this month. It’s Fresh’s Brown Sugar Lip Treatment in Honey. I got it at Sephora in my town, but you can buy online. The. Best. Ever. But since I am addicted, I’m on my way to Amazon to pick up some Cover Girl Natureluxe. You can never have too many.

  3. The Cover Girl Natureluxe Gloss Balms are really nice! I got to try it for free through BzzAgent, but I would totally buy it again (even at full price) when I run out. The colors in the tube look really, um, intensel, but when you apply it on your lips it is very sheer and natural looking. I have #225 – Anemone.

  4. *intense* , not intensel. LOL

  5. I love this stuff, I’m outside a lot in the summer, so needed something with some SPF in it that wasn’t a heavy lipstick, and this works great. I’ve got a few different colors in my purse already that I bought, and will definitely pick up a few more!

  6. I am a huge fan of burt’s bees tinted lipbalm. I use hibscus. Please don’t be scared by the colors on the packaging, they’re much richer/more natural in real life. THe best part of that shade for me is that in a pinch, it can double as a cream blush if I don’t have time for makeup on my way to work.

  7. Enjoy, ladies! I live in Phoenix, so buying anything melty by mail at this time of year is out of the question for me. I learned this the hard way. 🙂

  8. I also was able to try this as a BzzAgent. I am NOT a lip gloss addict, but I absolutely love this lip gloss. I’ve always wanted to be a lipstick or lip gloss kind of girl, but I never liked the feel of anything on my lips. When I was able to try this out, I fell in love with it. Like Lauren, I’d gladly pay full price for more of this stuff if I had to. (I have #230, which is coral.)

  9. I’m with Kristin, I LOVE the Burt’s Bee’s tinted lipbalm. I have Dahlia stashed everywhere- in my car, in my purse…It feels just like a regular lip balm, like Blistex almost- not as heavy as Chapstick, and has enough color to be noticable but not enough that you have to look in a mirror to apply it (or am I the only one who always misses her mouth when applying lipstick without a mirror?) Kristin is also right about the colors- MUCH lighter and more natural than the package indicates. I’d say use the package colors to find the tone you’re looking for (reddish? pinkish? orange-ish?) and go from there.

  10. *Laurin. (Sorry for misspelling your name, Laurin!)
