It happened again—I swear my son got up a full inch taller than he was when he went to bed last night. Craziness. Fortunately he’s still about the width of a strand of spaghetti (and not at all brand-conscious…), so despite his teenager status I can still buy shorts for him at Children’s Place. Shhhh, don’t tell. Today (Tuesday, July 16th) they’re offering free shipping on every order, plus you can use coupon code H6G531 for an additional 20% off. And they’re having a big Summer Blowout, which means prices are already slashed.
This is my last season that I’ll be able to shop here. What am I going to do with myself when my son finally finishes outgrowing them??

Thanks! Got some great deals in my daughter’s next size up!
Got great Fourth of July t-shirts for all my nieces! Thanks!
Mir or other Mir-ites, please adivse. If a kid has a huge growth spurt (as in: wore size 5 in May and is now in 8s, even though 7s fit him *yesterday*), and in the process gains 12 lbs, does he ever “even out” by getting some height and becoming less thick? I’m just wondering if it’s time to haul all the 6s and newly-purchased 7s to the kids’ retail shop… or if some additional height on him will drop him back down a size or so.
This single mama’s gonna need a new job if he keeps sprouting. In fact, just this morning I told him he had to stop growing!
In my experience, they kind of chunk up a bit before shooting up in height and thinning out again. I’d wait on selling the 7s, for sure.
I don’t know what you’ll do when he outgrows TCP, but I’m looking forward to finding out, as mine has outgrown it and is growing like crazy!
Mandy: In my experience it goes backwards…chunk out into the next size, then grows to the length.
Thanks Mir! I’ve been waiting for TCP to show up here so that I could go get the bike shorts we put under all of my girl’s skirts and dresses. can’t beat $4 a pair, shipped!
The code was still active this morning on July 17th. Sunglasses for Baby Girl for $1.19 since she loses them all the time. She is the Forgetful Fashionista.
Thanks, Mir and Ani!
