It’s beginning to look a lot like…

… Halloween! (Why, what did you think I was going to say?)

But of course I’m already thinking about Christmas, because the time to stalk Advent calendar markdowns has already begun. And I’m not saying the LEGO calendars aren’t worth the exorbitant prices—because they absolutely are, and I’ve overspent on them, myself—but I’m always on the lookout for cheaper-but-equally-kid-pleasing options.

So maybe if your kid is into Angry Birds, you’ll want to check out today’s Amazon Gold Box, because it holds 50% off select K’Nex sets, including an unheard of half-off discount on the K’Nex Angry Birds Advent Calendar. It ends up building a pretty fantastic setup, and at $20 it’s a steal.

The deal is good today only, so don’t miss out if you want one.

  1. Popped over from Facebook. I had to do quite a bit of maneuvering around a hovering ad for Nordstrom’s that showed up over the bulk of this post. It was annoying, especially that I had to go “change options” on another site just to find out that the post was not indeed a Lego deal. Mir, Ewww! I am a long time reader. Is this going to keep happening?

    • I never get the Nordstrom ad so I have no idea what’s going on… I’m opening a ticket with my ad network to get it figured out. Thanks for your patience.

      • I have the ad too. But I just scrolled past it…

  2. I didn’t see the ad if that helps.

  3. I’ve got the annoying ad, too, completely blocking the text of your piston my iPad. I could sort of read through and around it, but wow, so not what I would expect for effective advertising.

  4. Yep, got the ad on my desktop. It’s got a dark red background and no discernible place to close it.

  5. I also got the ad, but I refreshed the page and it went away. Also, glad this was not the Lego set, I already bought mine :/ (We are newish members of the church of Lego lol)

  6. I didn’t have the ad (but I have AdBlock software). Off to check out ANOTHER silly Lego deal. 4 boys–legos are big here. Thanks for the deals so far this year! 🙂

  7. Also see the ad (in three places, no less – on the sidebar, across your post, and in a smaller box below the post). The little “x” box that you can usually use to shut it down doesn’t work, either.

  8. Thanks for the feedback, all. I have folks working on it and apologize for the inconvenience!

    • Also I finally got the ad and was able to grab a screen shot. Looks to me like a vertical ad is erroneously being populated to a horizontal space, hence the weirdness. Hopefully we’ll have it fixed pronto.

      • Yahoo. Your blog is too useful and lovely for such nonsense!
