Year-end pantry stockers

The flurry of lightning deals at Amazon is finally over, and my family seems fairly pleased to have me back. Heh. Now in lieu of chasing those timed deals, Amazon is offering a a bevy of “year end deals,” and I—of course—went straight to the groceries.

Some of the Year-End Grocery Deals are the sorts of things I probably shouldn’t be looking at, like chocolates. But there are still New Year’s Eve parties and such; maybe you need just one more hostess gift? Or maybe you saw that episode of Everyday Italian when Giada made a bread pudding using panettone? Because they’ve got cheap panettone and that would be an amazing thing for New Year’s. Just sayin’.

Or maybe you need a whole lot of organic canned pumpkin. I don’t judge. (It comes out to under a buck a can if you buy via Subscribe & Save.) There’s always a time in the spring or summer when I want to make muffins and discover that apparently it’s against the law to sell pumpkin at the supermarket when it’s above 50 degrees. I wouldn’t mind having a few extras in the pantry.

Then again, after yesterday’s carnival of eating, I’m not sure I need to eat again, ever.

  1. I did, in fact, need a whole lot of organic pumpkin. Buying it this way was much easier than my original plan of stalking the health food store in hopes of finding it marked down to 50 cents a can like I did last year. 🙂 I stocked up on brown rice flour, too, because that’s a great price.

  2. My grandparents love that panettone and we’re not heading there until thurs so it will get here just in time. As always, thanks for the deal!

  3. I actually loaded up on the Go Picnic gluten free boxes. Thanks for posting the link!

  4. I make all sorts of pumpkin stuff. Plus I put some in my daily veggie smoothies (I know, yuk, but it is the only way I will consume veggies), and it is great stuff for cats. I usually stock up with a year’s worth when the local organic market puts it on sale, but that is such a great price…

  5. Just made Giada’s panettone bread pudding for Christmas dessert!
