Part of me wishes she got it for birthdays and part of me wishes it was for Christmas. The birthday part thinks it’d be hilarious to be the third birthday person of the year:
Person 1: “Oh, a ukelele! Awesome!”
Person 2: “You got me a ukelele, too? Neat! Now we can play together.”
Person 3: “Did you get me a ukelele?” (not really thinking that, because Person 3 didn’t want one) “Oh…a…ukelele. I was just joking.”
Person 4: “I’ll bet it’s a … ukelele!” (everyone laughs when it is)
Person 5: (doesn’t even open it) “Thanks for the ukelele, Mom!”
If it was at Christmas, it’d be similar, but all in a row on the couch instead. ;~) I had an uncle who wouldn’t open his Christmas presents from my grandparents, because they got the guys all the same thing usually. Until suddenly, they didn’t anymore — except the first few years they actually did, but wrapped his in weirdly shaped boxes, and then when he caught on, they finally started buying random things for each of the guys. Then there was always a lot of present swapping. 🙂
