Black Friday at Lands’ End
A friend of mine was crowdsourcing the best place to get a winter coat on Facebook (wait… syntax… she was asking on Facebook, not shopping on Facebook), and of course I cast my vote for Lands’ End, because that’s where all of my favorite outerwear comes from.
For Black Friday, you can use coupon code BLACK with PIN 2828 for 40% off all outerwear and 30% off everything else. Shipping is (as always) free on $50+, and remember that you can always return extras to your local Sears store.
I don’t need another coat, but that’s never stopped me from shopping there before….
Need a Chromebook?
If you’re in the market for a Chromebook (particularly if you’re looking for an affordable machine for the kids), Amazon has this Asus 13-Inch Chromebook HD with Gigabit WiFi, 16GB Storage & 2GB RAM for just $149.99 (its lowest price ever). My guess is they’ll go quick, but that’s a really nice deal.
Device protection, Black Friday style
Thanks to alert reader Cele for pointing out that ZAGG is doing Buy 1, Get 1 Free on their InvisibleShield screen protectors. Perfect for all your devices, and a small price to pay for peace of mind (free of scratches!).
Get ’em for your existing devices, or pick them up for any new goodies that might be under the tree this year.
Black Friday for your furry friends
Don’t forget about your pets today! Sure, there’s plenty of Black Friday deals for humans, but surely I am not the only person here who hangs stockings for the dogs…? (Um, if the answer is no, please don’t answer that.)
Today at PetSmart, everything ships for free, plus tons of stuff is up to 50% off.
One of my dogs feels the need to perform emergency squeakerectomies on every toy she encounters, so I count on deals like this one to keep her happy without breaking the bank.
Er, I mean, I tell Santa about sales like this one. Obviously.
For your sleepy elves
Um, please don’t show this post to my children, but this may be pertinent info for… someone else… out there.
Know what’s awesome? When you start a fun holiday tradition of the elves delivering new jammies on Christmas Eve. That’s darling. Matching jammies, natch. There is nothing cuter than kids in matching jammies. And who doesn’t want to go to bed on that magical night in new jammies?
Know what’s not so awesome? When your children become adult-sized and know full well there are no pajama-delivery elves and yet still insist that yes, they need new jammies on Christmas Eve, matching ones, please, and preferably delivered by fictitious elves. That’a a shopping dilemma, because—I don’t know if you know this—coordinating adult jammies exist, but they usually cost a lot.
So sure, everyone else in the world is running to Target today for electronics deals, but I am here to tell you that they have adult-sized Santa suit and elf pajamas. Just in case you need them. (For some reason the women’s versions are on sale, but the men’s are not.) Keep a sharp eye out, because some items are available for free shipping and others have to be picked up in-store, but you have 5 days for in-store pickup on your order, so no need to fight the crowds today. (And yes, of course they have ton of kid-sized holiday jammies, too.)
Maybe I am going to make my taller-than-me children dress up like elves. Maybe we’ll take a ton of blackmail pictures. Who knows.
Black Friday at LEGO
LEGO lovers in your midst? Don’t forget to check out the LEGO Shop today; they’re offering free shipping on every order, plus a free exclusive holiday set when you spend $99+.
Two items of particular note in the Sales and Deals section:
1) They have a LEGO business card holder for $11.98 that tickles me endlessly. Perfect for your favorite grown-up kid.
2) They have the Battle for Ninjago City set for $95.99, which is the lowest I’ve seen it so far. (For reference: still $115 at Amazon.)
It’s just not the holidays without LEGO (at least ’round here). Happy building!
Black Friday from Gap and Co.
Ready to hit the sales for your family’s favorite clothing deals? Here you go:
Old Navy has taken up to 50% off just about everything, automatically, and then you can use coupon code GRAVY for an additional 15% off (some restrictions apply, like it doesn’t work on Everyday Values). They’ve got their typical fleece-o-rama happening today, and this is my go-to store for cozy cold weather accessories.
Gap is giving you 50% off with coupon code BLKFRIDAY.
Banana Republic is offering either 50% off one full-price item with coupon code BRFIFTY or 40% off your entire purchase with code BRFORTY.
Remember that all those sites share a basket and you get free shipping on $50+, or add anything at all from Piperlime and you’ll get free shipping on any order. Plus, today you can use coupon code IHEARTNYC for 25% off there, too.
Finally, the last store in their family is Athleta, where code FIT20 takes 20% off your purchase.
(I like to take this day as an opportunity to get my kids some cheap stuff at Old Navy and then pick up something I really want from Athleta, but that’s just me.)
Crazy-good iPad Air deal
Are you feeling lucky? I prefer my Apple products with AppleCare (which means either new or Certified Apple Refurbished), but if saving some dollars is worth a bit of risk to you, this is the deal to beat, today:
Cowboom‘s Deal of the Day is a refurbished 16GB iPad Air for just $249. Now, you can purchase warranty coverage for it through Cowboom—$29 for a year, or $50 for 2 years—and for a mobile device that may well be dropped, it’s a good idea to do so. I would probably get the coverage. I just can’t tell you how Cowboom handles it, because I don’t have any experience with it.
Also, this won’t come in a super-pretty box with all the accessories, so it wouldn’t be great for a gift. But at $250 off, it’s kind of hard to complain.
Black Friday at Barnes & Noble
There’s a whole slew of great deals happening right now at Barnes & Noble, and today’s the day where they’ll really make it worth your while—use coupon code BFriday14 to take an additional 30% off any one item (excluding Nook stuff).
Had your eye on a box set of something? Or maybe a television series? Today’s the day to scoop it up. They’ve got a huge section of 50% off gift books, too. And they’re matching Amazon’s price ($50) on the complete Calvin and Hobbes, which means that after the coupon it’s just $35.
Orders of $25+ ship for free… not that I’ve ever in my life managed to get out of a book store for under $25….
Black Friday at 6pm.com
24 deals priced at $24—one every hour—is back at 6pm.com today! And that’s on top of the featured deals that’ll be running all day long, like up to 70% off Frye and more.
To make it even sweeter, I’ve got a coupon for you that’s only slightly less rare than a unicorn. Coupon code 6PMEU112720141585 will take 15% off your entire order, and I assume it’s one of those “good for 75,000 uses” things they like to do, which means it’s liable to stop working by this afternoon.
I can see that their site is already running a little slow, so be patient. Good luck!
