There’s a Fire in the Gold Box

If you’ve been waiting for a great deal on a Kindle Fire, look no further than today’s Amazon Gold Box—they’re featuring a certified refurbished Kindle Fire HD 8.9″ for just $139 shipped.

Note that this is a the previous model, so it’s an HD rather than an HDX (although if you must have the latest/greatest, or you want to compare, here it is), but it’s a great deal if you don’t need every bell and whistle.

It’s also a great deal if the intended user is a kid/tween and you don’t want to be dropping a ton of money. (Not that $139 isn’t a lot of money, because it is, but it’s not iPad money, is my point.)

Ready for the 4th of July?

I was just wondering this morning if Old Navy still does their flag shirts, and it turns out, they do. $5 for any size from baby to Men’s XL, and you get this year’s (it has the year on it, which is clever of them, to make you want to come back for next year’s) patriotic shirt to wear on Independence Day. Or whenever. Of course, they also say “Old Navy” on ’em in big letters, which isn’t so much my cup of tea.

If you’re willing to pay just a little more, today’s featured Woot deal is a cool flag shirt, available in three colors and in both kids’ and men’s/women’s sizes, with no branding on it. Plus, the flag is made up of the words of the Declaration of Independence. Seems a little more patriotic than a brand name.

Woot’s shirts are $8 apiece and come with free, expedited delivery so that you’ll have them in time for the holiday. Not bad.

Time to clean up at Kohls

Been waiting for the trifecta of Kohls Cash, coupons, and free shipping over at Kohls? Today’s the day it all starts—get $10 Kohls Cash for every $50 you spend, take an additional 30% off with coupon code GREAT30 and your Kohls card, and get free shipping on any size order with coupon code FREEMVC and your Kohls card.

No Kohls card? No problem; you still get the Kohls Cash, automatic free shipping on $75+, and you can save an additional 15% with coupon code HOTSAVINGS.

(Just in case you weren’t already clear on how neurotic I am, when I need new jeans, I often order a dozen pairs from Kohls on a sale like this so that I can try them on at home, then return the rejects to the store. It’s so much better than trying to get a good view of your backside in a tiny fitting room under fluorescent lights!)

“Quadrilogy” is totally a word

It’s… 33% better than a trilogy, dontchaknow. And right now the X-Men Quadrilogy on Blu-ray is just $16.99 at Amazon, for all of you who don’t look at Wolverine and wonder how on earth he wipes himself. (Oh, come on. I can’t be the only one.)

All 4 movies, one low price. Perfect for X-Men fanatics and bargain fanatics alike.

Have you tried thredUP yet?

Remember back when I did a thredUP review? No? Let me find it for you… here it is! I’ve been shopping them periodically ever since then, with some hits and some misses, but I just got my latest order and loved absolutely everything in my polka-dot box, so I have them on the brain.

Anyway, they have a new offer out for first-timers, just in case you haven’t taken the plunge yet. Go register at thredUP and you can take 40% off your first order with them by using coupon code JU40. This is a way better deal than their customary free $10 to spend, if you’re ordering a bunch, so get on it. And hurry, too—the code is only good this weekend, and then the deal is over.

(My tip, if you’re new and feeling overwhelmed: Shop brands/cuts you already know and love. Every item I’ve gotten from thredUP has been in impeccable condition, so the disappointments have been stuff that didn’t fit, not items that weren’t as they appeared. This last package was all t-shirts from my favorite brands and I’m a happy shopper.)

It’s a secret sale at Rockport

Love Rockport? You can take advantage of a one-day secret sale they’re having right now—all summer styles are 40% off, and clearance items are an additional 30% off, plus free shipping, when you apply coupon code EXCLUSIVE.

There’s tons of deals to be had, and don’t freak out when you don’t see where to put in the coupon code; the box is on the very last page of checkout.

Time for the Payless BOGO sale

Summer growth spurts got you (and your wallet) down? Payless to the rescue—today you can Buy One, Get One Half Off, plus use coupon code ZZBOGO10 for an additional 10% off your entire order.

Shipping is free to your local store, or on your $35+ total.

I remember back when Payless was the best place to get shoes for quick-growing kids’ feet, but I never would’ve considered buying adult shoes there. They’ve really cleaned up in recent years, though, and some of their adult stuff is pretty nice. Makes it pretty easy to take advantage of these BOGOs….

A little weird, but…

… apparently Amazon is having their Semi-Annual Bra and Panties Sale. And I know—I know—that no matter how much you shop for everything under the sun at Amazon, shopping there for bras may feel… weird.

But I’ve just gone through the sale and seen some incredible deals (think hard-to-find sizes, in particular—plus sizes, or tiny bands/larger cups, larger bands/tiny cups), plus it looks like all of these sale items fall under the free shipping/free returns dealio, which means you can try and return if they don’t work out.

Once I saw some of the prices on expensive brands (hello, Natori!) I got over the weirdness, is all I’m saying.

Pamper yourself at The Body Shop

Oooh, here’s another awesome one-day deal: Today (Monday, June 16th) only, The Body Shop is offering at least 40% off of just about everything, plus every order ships for free! Some items are as much as 70% off, but the stuff that’s not officially on the “Big Sale” is on sale, too.

Yeah, it’s a little confusing. But it’s deals, sooo….

Clinique bonus time!

If you’re a Clinique devotee, it’s time to restock—right now they’re offering free shipping on every order, plus if you spend $27+ you get a 5-piece bonus set (they always have the cutest little bags).

And if you buy their Smart Serum, you can use a code to grab a free mini-moisturizer along with it, too (use LIFT or YOUTH depending on which one you want).

I am not a huge fan of makeup (I wear very little, as infrequently as I can get away with), but their Acne Solutions Liquid Makeup is pretty much the only foundation that doesn’t make me break out. Also their foundation brush is my favorite thing ever… pretty sure it’s made of unicorn hair and magic. (At $33, it ought to be, anyway.)
