Why wait ’til next week?
The deals are already rolling in, and you can knock out a ton of your holiday shopping even before we hit Black Friday.
If you love the yummy-smelling goodies from Philosophy, you can shop now and use coupon code holidayship for 20% off and free shipping. I can’t promise they won’t have a better deal before the holidays—they may, of course—but if you’re eyeing just a couple of stocking stuffers or something that’s a holiday exclusive, this might be your best bet.
Besides, who else sells a product called Hope In A Tube? No one, that’s who.
Save on food for your furry friends
Have I mentioned that we have a new dog…? We have a new dog. This is fantastic because said new dog is bewildered and unhappy and old dog is pretty miffed about being ousted from her position as the One True And Only Dog. (All will be well. But it’s sort of like having a new baby and a toddler who’s acting out. But with more barking.)
Anyway, now we need twice as much dog food. And because our existing dog was already a delicate princess and the new dog is similarly special-snowflake-y with all sorts of skin problems, I now need twice as much super-expensive, grain-free food. I went on a brief hunt and discovered that right now, Wag.com is offering 25% off your first order of pet food with coupon code 25FOOD. Shipping is automatically free on your $35+ order, too, so I was able to get a big bag of kibble for about $10 less than it would’ve cost me at Amazon.
Now all I need is for the new dog’s skin to heal up and the old dog to stop glaring at us like we ruined her life. Haven’t found a coupon for either of those, though.
I’ll take a little shoe mystery for 30% off
Shoes on your shopping list? Head over to Shoes.com today; they’re having a mystery sale, and you could save up to an extra 30% off! Click where indicated on their home page to reveal your savings. (And, uh, if you don’t get the 30% off you want… try a different browser, maybe.) Free shipping, too.
The codes do have a few exclusions—they don’t work on UGGs, for example—but there’s plenty of savings to be had. My kids need new slippers, and if a pair of cute boots fall into my cart, well, who could blame me?
If you’re in the market for a crock pot…
… well, now you’re speaking my love language. (Yes, I own five crock pots. Yes, I need all of them. Thanksgiving dinner will be prepared mostly in crock pots. Don’t judge.)
Anyway! Lovely Jessica pointed out yesterday that Amazon currently has this Crock-Pot SCVT650-PS 6-1/2-Quart Programmable Touchscreen Slow Cooker available for all all-time-low price of just $60. I don’t own this one, but the reviews are excellent, and it sure is pretty.
If you want a programmable crock with a lid that can be clamped down for transport, I do own this Hamilton Beach 33967 Set ‘n Forget 6-Quart Programmable Slow Cooker, and that’s the one I take to potlucks and such. It’s not as futuristic-looking as the Crock-Pot one, but I would say it’s my second favorite and a great machine.
My all-time-favorite workhorse, of course, is the Ninja 3-in-1 Cooking System, though you have to really want one to spend that money, I guess. I just noticed Ninja’s come out with a SEARios Slow Cooker, which is basically the stovetop and slow-cooking abilities of the 3-in-1 without the convection baking component (and with a smaller price tag). To be honest, I’ve never used my Ninja for baking, so if I was wanting one, I’d definitely jump on the SEARios model as a more affordable option. It is really nice to be able to sauté your veggies or sear your meat in the cooking insert before flipping it to slow-cook mode.
A little early Black Friday
Don’t want to wait for next week’s madness to shop? Shop the Gap family of stores today for deals on most everything—just use coupon code MERRY for 35% off at Gap, Old Navy, and Banana Republic. That same code will give you 30% off at Piperlime, too (and of course everything at Piperlime ships for free, and adding anything from there to your shared cart gets you free shipping on the whole order).
This won’t get you whatever Door Busters they break out next week, but if you’ve had your eye on something, it will give you a sizable discount without having to fight the crowds and/or risk items selling out.
Keep your eye on the Lightning Deals
You are watching the Countdown to Black Friday Lightning Deals over at Amazon, right? The closer we get to Black Friday, the better the deals are.
Coming up in just a few minutes is an adorable limited edition set for a GHD flat iron (I love my GHD and you can pry it out of my cold, dead hands)—that could be a great deal depending on the price they put it at. There’s also a Melissa & Doug baby bowling set coming up. Oh, heck, there’s lots of things. Just make sure you keep it bookmarked and keep checking back.
It’s your Last Call for even deeper discounts
Love the deals at Last Call? (Motto: Neiman Marcus items, Macy’s prices.) (Okay, that’s not their motto, but it totally should be.) Until midnight today, you can apply coupon code NOVLC50 for $50 off your $100+ purchase. Unfortunately it doesn’t work on clearance items (though those are already an extra 50% off…), but there’s still plenty of ways to scoop up a fantastic bargain.
We’re less than two weeks out from Black Friday, now, but I predict there will be plenty of “teaser” deals like this, this week. We’ll see.
Get ready for those holiday parties
‘Tis the season of eating, and the season of thankfulness, which of course means I am very grateful these days for all things Spanx. Yes, we’re all beautiful exactly as we are, of course. But let’s just say that sometimes I like feeling a little smoother than nature made me.
Right now Spanx is doing a Friends & Family Sale, and it’s just in time for the holidays! Use coupon code NOVSPXEMP through December 1st for 25% off any order, plus free shipping and free returns.
[Pro tip: If the prices make you feel faint (even with the coupon), look at the Assets items—that’s Spanx’s “bargain” line, and honestly I’ve been equally happy with those items, and they tend to be about half the price of the main label stuff.]
A $50 laser printer? There’s a deal for that!
Remember when we all got excited about full-color inkjet printers being so cheap? And it was really exciting up until the very first time your kid had a school project and you realized that the ink cartridges would need to be replaced approximately every single time you printed more than a couple of pages? And then you realized that the printer was cheap because the ink is outrageously expensive?
I feel like there should be an entirely separate “Five Stages of Grieving” diagram for the process most of us went through with our inkjet printers, frankly.
Anyway! The solution (in our family, anyway), was to go back to using a laser printer for 99% of the printing we need to do, because 99% of that printing doesn’t need to be in color, anyway. Plus I cannot tell you the last time we had to buy a new toner cartridge, because toner cartridges are magical and last forever. (Okay, not forever. But close!) Today’s Amazon Gold Box holds up to 65% off “electronics accessories for the office,” including this Canon imageCLASS LBP6000 Compact Laser Printer for just $50! That’s its lowest price ever, and the reviews are fantastic. Say goodbye to expensive inkjet ink and come to the dark side… we have long-lasting toner.
Today, loyalty pays at least 30%
Emotions tend to run high when you start talking about Crocs—people seem to either love them or hate them—but I confess I have a pair by the back door at all times. (They’re perfect for slipping on for short jaunts, like to take the dog out or empty the compost.) And more and more, they’re making shoes that actually look like shoes, even. I dig it.
Today (Thursday, November 14th) you should dig it, too, because today only you can shop and use coupon code LOYAL1142 for 30% off sitewide. (Their current deal on Baya clogs is the only item excluded from this promotion, I think.) It works on Outlet items, so there are some great deals to be had. Shipping is automatically free on your $25+ order, too.
