I’m into football for the snacks
It should come as no surprise to anyone who knows me that I think the most important part of football season is the menu. (What can I say? I’m serious about my snacks.) So while today’s Target Daily Deals are supposed to be a kick-off to tailgating season with a variety of football games, books, movies, and even stuff to pack up for your trek to the stadium, I immediately zeroed in on the slow cooker deals. Because I’m me.
They have both the Crock Pot Triple Dipper (currently $62 at Amazon) and the Crock Pot Cook & Carry Programmable (currently $50 at Amazon) for just $39 apiece. I lay odds on both of these being sold out before most of us have finished our breakfast.
I’m pretty sure my husband will leave me if I buy that Triple Dipper (we already own, um, five slow cookers). But it’s so shiny!
Got polos?
Somehow I almost missed that today’s Target Daily Deals are chock-full of school uniform goodies, including super-cheap polo shirts for the kids. Great prices and free shipping make this one a no-brainer, even if they don’t wear uniforms!
Get organized and old-timey
I’m a sucker for old-style glassware when I visit thrift stores, but more often than not I end up passing on good deals because what am I going to do with, say, just a couple of spice jars? That’s a cheap way to get stuff, but it’s hard to make a whole set.
So I may be a little over-excited for this one: Right now Amazon has these Anchor Hocking glass gallon-size candy jars available for just $5.96 apiece when you buy directly from Amazon (look in the “More Buying Choices” sidebar to the right). These usually run about $20 apiece, and this is Amazon’s lowest price ever.
These are great for storing all sorts of things. And they’re so pretty! I feel certain that Licorice really wishes we had one full of dog treats. And I would hate to disappoint her.
Your teens can thank me later
Have a kiddo who begs you to go into Hot Topic every time you’re at the mall? (It’s scary in there….) Shop them online, instead, and right now they’re having a flash sale where you can take between 20% – 50% off your order—they’ll give you a banner and a code when you visit the site to determine your discount.
Well, I think you deserve 50% off. Even if you don’t get the banner for that, go ahead and use coupon code PHTLM50 to get half off everything except music, Pleaser shoes, and gift cards. Your teens will think you’re the coolest, and you’ll have saved yourself from Mall Hell and high prices.
Save on outdoor adventure gear
Today’s Target Daily Deals feature all kind of goodies for camping or just hanging around outdoors, at reduced prices (and of course with free shipping).
I see that a couple of the deeper discounts are already sold out (boo), but plenty of deals remain.
Awww yeah, this cheered me right up
How did they know that I needed a pick-me-up today? It’s a Woot-Off, and that means rotating deals all day long at Woot, Home.Woot, Sport.Woot, Kids.Woot, and even Wine.Woot (motto: not just for lushes).
I hope you didn’t have anything else you needed to do today.
Healthy/happy without the hefty price tag
It’s another excellent day to pick up whatever you need over at GNC—shipping is just $1 on all orders, plus they’ve got hundreds of items priced at $10 or less (including many that are usually upwards of $30).
I can’t explain why there are so many different varieties of fish oil available (seriously, what is with the fish oil??), but I do like this sale for stocking up on vitamins and other supplements we use.
I always wanted one of these
There’s a wide variety of tape dispensers that look like cute shoes, and of course I always think about buying one when I see them on sale, but this deal today is a complete no-brainer: Amazon has the Scotch Sandal Shoe Tape Dispenser with Magic Tape priced at just $1.63 right now, and it’s eligible for Prime, and it’s not an Add-On!
One for me, one for the gift closet. Looking at it just makes me laugh.
And another one
Didn’t find everything you wanted at the big sale at 6pm this morning? There’s an end-of-summer sale happening over at Piperlime, too. Prices are as marked, and shipping is free. I’m seeing some seriously cute options, and even though Piperlime tends to be a little rich for my blood, there’s an under $50 section where I saw some affordable deals.
Bonus: Pretty sure nothing smells like cats here, either. (I feel like I’ve got a theme going, today. Maybe I should’ve thought about that a little harder before I got that third cup of coffee, though….)
Better smelling than a regular yard sale
Listen, I’m not too proud to go rummage through someone else’s castoffs at a yard sale, but sometimes when you do that you end up walking into someone’s garage and perusing a rack of clothing that smells like cats. I’m just saying.
But with the online “yard sale” going on right now at 6pm.com, nothing is actually pre-owned, so you don’t have to worry about anything like that. Also, it’s online, so you don’t even have to get dressed. It’s a win-win all around, is my point.
Over 60% off, no cat smell. They should use that as their tagline.
