Friends & Family time on high-end fashion

Need to look so “ooh la la” without going “ooh la broke?” That’s why Bluefly exists, of course, and while their prices are always deep discounts off the regular designer price tags, today you can get in on the Friends & Family sale and use coupon code BFF to save an extra 20%!

The code works on things already discounted, excepting Final Sale items (as well as watches, beauty, and fragrances). I see tons of affordable, gorgeous options in the sale section, and that extra 20% off just makes it that much sweeter.

Tween fashionistas, rejoice!

I’m not going to lie; I’m relieved that the days of Oh-Mom-I-totally-need-that-sparkly-shirt-or-I-will-die are behind us. (For those wondering what it’s like once they’re teens, it’s more like Mom-you-have-to-buy-me-that-ratty-black-shirt-covered-in-skulls, which is… not so different, come to think of it.) But back when my girlchild discovered fashion, all she ever wanted was clothing from Justice.

If you have a daughter like this, today’s an excellent day to shop—they’ve got a flash sale going on, which means everything is an extra 20% off, and then you can use coupon code 722 for another 40% off, on top of that. Shipping starts at $6.

Even with the sale, this isn’t going to be cheap, but even a couple choice sale items from Justice to round out her wardrobe may make you a hero.

Go back to school with GoPicnic

I’m just going to offer this up here to the GoPicnic folks for free, because that’s the generous sort of gal I am: They should totally make their tagline “Lunchables for hippies.” Because that’s, in essence, what they are. Little prepackaged snack- and lunch-packs reminiscent of those overly-processed trays of adorable food, but in organic and all-natural, healthy versions.

Do I buy GoPicnic packs all the time? No; the regular price is expensive and I prefer to pack my kids’ lunches myself, most of the time. Do I buy them sometimes on sale as a oh-no-we’re-running-late-grab-one-of-those sort of solution/treat? Yep. It’s convenience food, hold the guilt.

If you’re eligible for Amazon coupons, right now they’re running a 25% off clippable coupon on GoPicnic, and when you combine that with Subscribe & Save (particularly if you get up to 5 subscriptions for the month, for maximum additional discount), this is a great deal on their normally much-more-expensive offerings. (Just bear in mind that the coupon can only be used once per account, so if you want more than one item, you’ll need to order them the regular way, not via Subscribe & Save, so that you can add multiple items to your cart and get the discount on all of them.)

I ordered the 50-count case of Power Play Seed Mix and it came out to $19.67 shipped, or about $.39/pack. Not bad for a nut-free, 8g-of-protein handy snack to toss in lunchbags!

Got a spare bed?

I know that futons are kind of a college student thing, most of the time, but we still have a couple in our house (albeit in nicer frames than when we were in college…) for extra seating and spare beds. Today in the Target Daily Deals they’ve got a really sweet futon deal, if you’re in the market for one. It’s a Serta Full Size wood frame with an innerspring Serta futon mattress for just $299 with free shipping. A quick check on Amazon turns up just the frame for $389.

It’s a pretty sweet deal for the free shipping alone, frankly, given how heavy it is. And if you need a couch or extra bed but can’t quite afford either, this could be a great inexpensive way to fill that gap.

Boxed mac and cheese, practically guilt-free

Listen, I’m not going to talk smack about the famous Blue Box. Lord knows I grew up on the stuff, and yeah, sometimes I buy it for my kids. Here in America we’re entitled to life, liberty, and the occasional dinner of boxed pasta with neon-orange cheese sauce powder.

On the other hand, now that there’s natural/organic options that taste nearly as good, I’m much more likely to grab those. Yeah, it’s still boxed pasta with powdered cheese, but somehow I feel less guilty.

Right now Amazon is running a 20% off coupon to clip on some Annie’s Homegrown pastas, and if you go for either the Bunny Pasta With Yummy Cheese or Shells & White Cheddar 12-packs—currently priced at just under $19 each—and clip the coupon and buy via Subscribe & Save, it can end up coming out to around a buck a box. (Remember that you’ll need 5 Subscribe & Save items in a month to get the larger discount.)

Of course, at first I was thinking “Well heck, that’s not all that cheap,” but then I remembered that the blue box is around a buck a box now, too. When I was in college I used to get 5 boxes for $1. You know, back when dinosaurs roamed the earth.

Time to stock up at Lands’ End

It’s been a while since Lands’ End offered a flat percentage-off coupon, so I’m thrilled to see that right now you can use coupon code TREAT with PIN 1015 for an extra 25% off absolutely everything. You’ll get free shipping on your $50+ purchase, too.

I’m not saying I’m definitely going to go treat myself to a new swimsuit—they’re all on sale, and then there’s the coupon, to boot—I’m just saying that I’m looking at them. That’s all.

Hello, McFly?!

Okay, this one isn’t technically a deal, but I’m hearing that it will be limited production and it’s just so darn cool, besides, that I think it merits a mention: LEGO has released a Back To The Future DeLorean Time Machine Building Set, and it’s giving me a bad case of nostalgia.

Again, at $35, it’s not a bargain, but if you’re a LEGO collector or have a weakness for Back To The Future, you may want to spring for it, anyway. Hey—where else are you going to get a LEGO set that comes with a flux capacitor?

Back to school cool

Still working on back-to-school shopping? There’s tons of great featured sales today over at 6pm.com, and even better, they’ve released a discount code good for today (Thursday, August 1st) only! It’s not a huge discount, but if you’re a dedicated 6pm shopper you know how rare this is.

Just use code 6PMSCHOOL808 for an additional 10% off at checkout. Shipping is (as always) free. Go finish outfitting your kids and pick up something pretty for you, too.

Coffeeeeeeee

Back in the days when I was too poor to justify the expense of a coffeemaker, but I still, y’know, really needed coffee, I would comb through the Sunday paper inserts for a code to use at Gevalia so that I could get a free coffeemaker. Ah, the good ol’ days.

Maybe you need a backup machine. Or maybe you can’t afford a new one right now. Or maybe you’re just smart and pretty and figure why pay for one if you don’t have to. Whatever the reason, hey, a free machine is a free machine. Right now Gevalia is offering a deal for a free coffeemaker and mug along with your first auto-delivery of coffee; you pick two kinds of coffee for $15, and they throw in the stainless steel programmable machine and the travel mug for free.

Don’t really want monthly auto-delivery? No problem; you can cancel as soon as you get your goodies. But their coffee is really quite good, so you might want to keep it. (If you’re not huge on coffee, they have tea, as well.)

Happy Wednesday!

Every now and then you just have to celebrate it being Wednesday, apparently. So today Old Navy is letting you take 25% off of just about everything with coupon code (what else?) WEDNESDAY.

It’s a perfect time to get a jump on—or finish up—that back-to-school shopping. Remember, spend $50+ across any of the shared Gap shopping sites, or include any item from Piperlime, and your shipping will be free.

The value of not having to face down to crowds and the creepy mannequins, however, is priceless.
