That’s a great deal, Baby

If you need a big-ticket baby item—say, a crib or fancy stroller—it’d be lucky to find it on clearance at Babies ‘R’ Us, anyway. Savings are savings, after all. But right now it would be even luckier, because you can use coupon code BLAST30 through July 14th to take an additional 30% off any clearance item.

Clearanced clearance! My favorite kind!

Any item can be picked up at your local store for free, and many items are eligible for free shipping, too. (Plus if you have ShopRunner you can get free 2-day shipping on just about everything.)

Take your tot along on your bike

Confession: I never took my kids on my bike when they were little, because even as a full-grown adult I was convinced that strapping a toddler to my bike could only end in me somehow flipping the bike in my clumsiness. I have enough trouble keeping myself upright on a bike. But I hear lots of other people don’t have my particular coordination issues. Ahem.

If you’ve been thinking about strapping your kiddo in on your ride, check out this Bell 1-2-3 child carrier with toddler helmet over at Rakuten today—it’s just $15 with free shipping.

That’s about what just the helmet usually costs, so it’s like getting the carrier for free.

Do not apply directly to teenagers

I’m a fan of Febreze, because I have a dog and teenagers and live in a humid place where things tend to end up smelling not very good. So I have a healthy appreciation of a product that can neutralize the scent of things that don’t smell all that wonderful.

That means I’m pretty stoked about this Febreze 27-ounce 2-pack at Amazon, which is currently priced at $9.94 with an available $3 coupon to clip. Buy it via Subscribe & Save for free shipping and an additional discount—for me (I’m already up to 5 subscriptions, so I get an extra 20% off) it was just $4.95 shipped, which is probably less than it cost to ship it to me.

My kids get angry if I try to spray it on them, though, so probably you should stick to inanimate objects.

Procrastination pays off sometimes

I posted this Alien Blu-ray Anthology a little while back when it dropped to $30, and I picked it up, myself. I love these movies and I have greatly enjoyed watching my older teen experiencing the whole phenomenon. (I’m so glad one of my children shares my love of horror!) Maybe you snagged the deal back then, and if so, don’t read the rest of this post, because…

… the set is now down to just $20. You get all 4 Alien movies, plus tons of bonus footage. I’d kick myself for buying them earlier, but eh. Sometimes that happens. Feel free to score ’em at the lower price and feel superior, though.

Print it (and save)

In our house we have a black/white laser printer and also a color inkjet printer (for which I always need to buy new ink whenever one of the kids has a fancy project). The laser printer gets far more usage, and I can’t recall if we’ve ever changed the toner, even.

The basic rule of thumb is that inkjet printers are cheap, but the ink is expensive (and doesn’t last long). Laser printers are more expensive, but the toner lasts pretty much forever.

Today you can have your cake and eat it, too, as long as you don’t need color—Amazon has this Brother HL-2270DW Compact Laser Printer with Wireless Networking and Duplex available for just $77.99, their lowest price ever. The reviews are great and the “starter” toner cartridge it comes with will print 700 pages, which means it does about 600 more than my inkjet printer before it complains.

If you don’t need color with your printing, this is a heck of a deal.

The Want Not Review: thredUP

Disclosure: I was approached by thredUP and asked to take the “thredUP Challenge” on their dime—could/would I wear used clothing for a week, if they let me choose 5-7 outfits from the site? All clothing featured in this post provided to me, but—as always—all opinions are my own.

The initial “challenge” to wear used clothing for a week for a smaller eco-fashion-footprint kind of made me giggle. I wear used clothing all the time. I’m a hardcore thrifter, and while I appreciate the environmental benefits, mostly I just have expensive taste but want to save money. So secondhand clothing has always been a big part of filling out my closet. Was I up for this challenge? Absofreakinglutely.

I made my selections, and about a week later a polka-dotted box arrived:

A good day to furnish

If you become immediately overwhelmed with a feeling of “I’d like one of everything,” the way I do, at Cost Plus World Market, shopping them online may cut down on a bit of the overwhelm. And now’s a good time to do it, because today (Monday, July 8th) only, you can use coupon code SURPRISE for 15% off everything—even stuff already on sale—plus free shipping on $100+.

It’s not such a great sale if you only want, say, a jar of jam. But if you want outdoor furniture or other big-ticket items, it’s a great way to score a deal before they sell out of the stuff you want.

Get fit, save bucks

They’re doing 10 Days of Deals over at the REI Outlet (just don’t ask me why, because I have no idea), and today’s deal is an extra 30% off of already-reduced fitness clothing and footwear. What that means is things like women’s Vibrams for around $20, or things like Energy Chews (um, maybe don’t wear those) for half off. Definitely worth taking a look, is my point. The extra 30% comes off once you’ve added items to your cart.

Shipping is free on $50+, or you can always ship to your local store for free if you’re willing to go pick up.

Got waffles?

Maybe it’s because we had pancakes for dinner (hey, they were my homemade multigrain/protein mix, don’t look at me like that), but I found myself looking at waffle irons on Amazon. Right now they have this West Bend rotary waffle maker for around $24, the lowest price I’ve ever seen it at. It’s also got an average review of 4.5 stars, so—unlike some other cheap irons—it looks like a pretty good unit.

Next Sunday: waffles!

If you’ve never shopped eShakti…

… today is the day to try them out, because the savings at eShakti today are unbeatable for new customers.

Everyone can take advantage of their current buy-2-get-1-free promotion—which is already incredible—but for the first time ever (I think), new customers can take $40 off $55+ with coupon code NICO8SCA. (There will be two boxes for savings codes at checkout; you want the first one for this.)

eShakti offers a variety of dresses in a huge range of premade sizes, or you can pay an additional fee for custom sizing. This means they truly have something for everyone! I wear a pretty standard size, so don’t need the custom service, but the dress I purchased from there is super cute.

Go check ’em out if you haven’t already… a $40 off coupon is too good to miss!
