Go home Target, you are drunk

I don’t want to alarm anyone, but I think whoever’s in charge of the Target Daily Deals may have finally lost it. I mean, there’s a huge assortment of affordably-priced colored denim over there today—much to my teen’s delight—but then down at the bottom (after all these jeans) things kind of go off the rails.

“Let’s do colored denim today! Okay, let’s see. Skinny jeans, check. Crops, check. Oh, that’s Juniors, let’s do Women’s, too. And tie-dye! That’s always a big seller. Okay, great. And plus-size, sure, why not. And maternity! And a few other patterns! Looks good! That’s some nice work. Oh, you know what this grouping really needs to round out this theme? Some Hello Kitty pajamas, a nursing bra, and a messenger bag. Yep. Perfect!

I have concerns, is all I’m saying.

More than overalls, B’gosh

Maybe Osh Kosh B’gosh is no longer the first brand people think of for little kids—though if you go through my kids’ baby photos, they’re dressed in little else—but they’re still making the same adorable, lasts-forever kiddie clothing they’ve made for years. (And I sure do prefer it to baby sweatsuits with “JUICY” written on the rears….) They’re having a big sale right now, with all summer marked 60% off. That means shirts and shorts for just $6 each.

Make it even better with a coupon—BNSTMY15 will take an additional 15% off everything except clearance, but only today and tomorrow (it expires at the end of the month).

Shipping is a flat $6. Buy more than a couple of items and it’s paid for itself in savings.

Big, bouncy curls

It of course figures that I think we’re living in an amazing time because—unlike when I was a teen—we now have heat protectant and flat irons for hair like mine, and I can actually get it straight, instead of the bendy-but-not-quite-curly-anymore I used to torture it into back in high school. But at the same time, what do all of my daughter’s friends love? Curling wands. Not curling irons—the grippy clip thingie is apparently so yesterday—but the wands. They all want curls, while I’m over here in the corner straightening my hair.

Kids today, man.

Anyway! If you have a teen who wants a wand (or if you want one yourself; I don’t judge!), right now Amazon has the highly-rated Remington CI95AC/2 Tstudio Salon Collection Pearl Digital Ceramic Curling Wand available at its lowest price ever, just $14.99 (free Prime shipping or Super Saver Shipping eligible). That includes the heat protectant glove so that you don’t end up frying your hand, too.

I know nothing of this device other than the reviews (which are excellent), but I did snag the Remington Pearl hairdryer deal a while back and it is hands down the best dryer I’ve ever owned. So take that for whatever it’s worth.

Heads up if you’re growing another human

There’s a bunch of good baby-related and maternity clothing type bargains in today’s Target Daily Deals, if you’re in the market for such things. They’ve also thrown in a few plus-size clothing options for those of you not gestating, but as I recall it’s deals on maternity jeans that are particularly hard to find when you’re carrying around a watermelon in your abdomen.

As always, Daily Deals ship for free regardless of your order size. Or your size. (Sorry, I couldn’t resist.)

Really, it’s the last day

Everyone else gave up on the Memorial Day sales by Monday, but not 6pm.comtoday is the last day of their Memorial Day blowout, which means there’s still time to scoop up amazing deals on shoes and clothing before it’s over.

And then, of course, you’ll just have to wait for the Independence Day sales. (I’m not that patient, so I’m combing through their 60-something pages of clearance right now.)

Time to eat out for less

How to deal with post-holiday letdown? (The only thing worse than a Monday is when Monday happens on Tuesday, after all….) With a discount code for Restaurant.com, of course!

$25 dining certificates are normally just $10—already a crazy savings—but today and tomorrow you can apply coupon code FUEL to save another 60%, making $25 worth of eating out a scant $4. You probably have $4 in your sofa cushions right now. Go ahead and look; I’ll wait.

As always, restaurants get added all the time, so go take a look even if you didn’t see anything good last time. Also be sure to read the conditions for each establishment, as they set them individually (and some restaurants will have minimum purchase or day-of-the-week rules). Know what you’re getting, in other words, but then enjoy the savings.

A good day to save on Levi’s

Need some new jeans? (Or pants, or shorts, or shirts, or… you get the idea.) Today only (Tuesday, May 28th) at Levi’s online, you can take 30% off almost everything with coupon code 30SITEWIDE. It even works on items already on sale!

Shipping is a flat $7.50, or free on your $75+ order.

I scream, you scream, make your own ice cream

Longtime readers know that I am a fool for kitchen appliances (largely because I am a fool for food, and appreciate anything that makes said food easier to prepare), and one of my most beloved toys is our ice cream maker. I may or may not be having homemade strawberry-basil frozen Greek yogurt for breakfast right now, shhhhh. (Hey, yogurt! Protein! Don’t judge.)

Anyway! Right now Amazon has the Cuisinart ICE-21 Frozen Yogurt, Ice Cream and Sorbet Maker in red available for just $40 shipped. You’ll have to look to the right on the product page, to the “More Buying Choices” column to see it directly from Amazon at that price (it’s defaulting to a different seller who is charging $20 more), but that’s a sweet price on a nice machine.

If you don’t enjoy frozen confections then I can’t help you. Probably you hate kittens, too.

Happy Memorial Day!
