ULTA beauty, ultimate prices
If you’ve been saving your pennies for a flat iron or other pricey beauty purchase, today would be an excellent day to check out ULTA. They’re offering an extra 20% off any one item with coupon code 105958, and that works on almost everything (see site for exclusions). They’ve already got a bunch of fancy CHI irons marked down to just $99 before coupon, so that means you could snag one for $80. Shipping is free on your $50+ order.
Sadly, this discount won’t work on Clarisonic systems (sorry!), which I know is the thing where everyone always wants a price break, but there’s plenty of other bargains to be had. Some of those light-pulse hair removal systems qualify, for example, so it’s not that the coupon doesn’t work on high-end items.
Anyway, I’m sure you can find something. It’s a pretty sweet coupon.
Get the whole Friday Night Lights saga
Confession: I have never seen Friday Night Lights. Not a single episode. I don’t know why this is, especially when I heard people raving about it constantly. Oh well. But lucky for me, today the Amazon Gold Box has all five seasons of Friday Night Lights on DVD for just $39.99. That’s 19 discs and… well, I was going to tell you the run time, but it’s listed as 392 minutes, which can’t be right. (That wouldn’t even be one season, right…?) One of the Amazon monkeys wasn’t paying attention, there.
Anyway! It’s a highly-rated show, many many hours of entertainment, and the whole darn thing in one bundle at a great price. So there you go.
I’d like to tango with Tanga
Two fantastic sales at Tanga today that may or may not have made me squee out loud a bit—first, get “Schwings” (wings for your sneakers) for just $5/pair, and there’s a zillion (okay; 15) different options to dress up your boring sneakers. Love these.
Second, they have Clockys in pink or black for just $15!! I won’t tell you what I paid for my daughter’s Clocky (on sale), but I promise you it was a lot more. (For comparison: The black one is currently $38 at Amazon.) I can assure you that this is the most annoying alarm clock in the history of alarm clocks, and my poor dog wishes it had never been invented.
Anyway, two fun products to brighten up your Thursday. And, um, just hypothetically, do you think those sneaker wings are only for kids…? I’m asking for a friend.
Sandal up
Just in time for the warm weather to (finally!) arrive, 6pm.com is doing a “Sweet & Sassy” sandal boutique today, and everything in it is under $30.
Nothing says summer like a cute pair of sandals. Be sure to send that memo to Mother Nature, because lately I’m not sure she’s gotten it.
Free shipping, all day
Here’s another department store goody—today (Wednesday, May 8th) Bon-Ton is offering free shipping on every order with coupon code FREESHIP. They’re also having a Signature Sale with Bonus Buys (translation: tons of stuff is on sale), and you can save up to an additional 25% off items already on sale with code SIGNATUR13Y (read the fine print on that one, because the discount varies by department, and it excludes things like Yellow Tag Clearance).
In other words: good prices, extra discounts, free shipping. I’m in.
If you love Redbook
I’ve long loved Redbook magazine, back to even before they wrote some nice things about me and my writing in 2008. (Related: I had to go back and look that up and 2008? I am old.) It’s just a good middle-of-the-road women’s mag, not too sleazy or too stuffy. (They should totally hire me to write PR for them. I’m doing a bang-up job, here, no?)
Anyway! The point (I have one, I swear) is that today you can grab a year-long subscription to Redbook over at Mamasource Deals for just $5. Five bucks is, like, the change scattered down at the bottom of your purse. This one is a no-brainer.
Go ahead, you can save even more
I’ll confess that I often sort of forget about JC Penney; not really forget forget, I guess, but when I’m looking for something it’s like they’ll occur to me and I’ll think, “Oh! Right! Why didn’t I look there already?” With their new pricing structure—more “regular low prices” and fewer sales—sometimes they kind of fly under the radar with good deals.
Anyway! Right now they’re offering an extra 15% off nearly everything (some brand exclusions apply) with coupon code GOAHEAD. I tested it on a sale hammock just to see if it would work on sale/large items, and it worked. (Woohoo!) Plus you can ship any order to a local store for free pickup, or orders of $75+ ship to your home for free.
It’s not a bad way to save a little bit extra on something you were probably going to buy anyway, is my point.
Another gluten-free favorite of mine
Did Amazon somehow know that I was running low on Larabars? That was awfully nice of them, if so. Right now there’s a clippable 20% off coupon available on all the flavors they carry, and then of course you can save up to another 20% if you’re buying via Subscribe & Save and you have Amazon Mom, so you have to decide how you want to do it: You can only clip the coupon once, so if you want more than one flavor, you’re better off buying the “regular” way and getting 20% off of all. If you’re cheap like me and will settle for a single, deeply-discounted flavor, clip the coupon and buy via Subscribe & Save.
I went for Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, this time, and have a box of 16 headed my way for just $14.80 shipped. I just need to find a place to hide them from the kids….
Don’t forget your vitamins
Among the other specials running over at GNC right now, today (Tuesday, May 7th) only they’re doing a $9.99 Super Sale on some of their most popular items. That’s up to 66% off, depending on the product.
Shipping is a flat $1, or free with your ShopRunner membership (that link takes you to a free 30-day trial, if you’d like to try it out).
I love GNC for vitamins and supplements, but every now and then I do things like go surf the clearance to see products I never would’ve dreamed existed. Krill powder? Really? Is there a big market for that…? Nutrition confuses me.
Let the little kids be the like the big kids
If you have little kids who want to be like their big siblings (or like mom and dad!), today’s an excellent day to check out the Deals of the Day at Best Buy. The featured deal is the VTech Innotab 2S Learning Tablet for just $59.99 (for comparison: still $100 at Amazon), and the bonus deals have the VTech Kidizoom digital cameras for just $14.99 (for comparison: around $40 at Amazon).
Deals of the Day ship for free, of course, and the savings are good today only. Can you really put a price on your toddler not grabbing your iPad or camera, though? (Oh, who am I kidding; they’ll still grab your stuff. But these are still good deals.)
