Stock your wardrobe at Target today

Frankly, I’ve been less than inspired by the Target Daily Deals of late, but they may be redeeming themselves in my mind, today.

Start out with a few specific deals—like Junior’s casual maxi skirts for just $10, a classic women’s trench for just $35, and more—but then move on to the bonus offers: A $10 gift card bonus when you spend $50+ on men’s outerwear and accessories, today, or 20% off and free shipping on all sleepwear. It’s like someone at Target woke up and said, “Hey, we need some actual deals in here, y’know?”

Well played, Target. Well played.

Tie one on

No, no, not that—I haven’t even had breakfast yet, you lush—I mean an actual tie. You know, for the spiffy guys in your life?

Today Tie.com is having a “Cyber Monday Carnage” sale, which makes me laugh. Something about the notion of their warehouse having been turned into a mess of empty pizza boxes and discarded ties… I don’t know, it just strikes me as pretty hilarious. Anyway, you can use coupon code CYBERMONDAY2012 to take 40% off any non-clearance items, plus if you spend $50+, you’ll get free shipping.

All joking aside, I really love that this is one of the few sites where I can narrow down what I’m looking at by choosing “extra long ties”—my husband is tall and the longer ties can be hard to find.

And with that, this is officially the longest conversation I’ve ever had about neckties. I think I’m getting old.

Deals on Fisher-Price toys? Okay!

Right now if you shop directly at the Fisher-Price Store, you can ship every order for free with coupon code FREESHIP. Check out the Sale section for five pages of bargains!

I’m seeing lots of deals on Imaginext items, so this is a particularly good one to check out if your kids are into that. Personally, I’d get the Evil Dr. Porkchop Flashlight as a stocking stuffer if my kids were smaller. (Oh, who am I kidding? I might get it for one of them, anyway.)

[Edited to add: Oh, dear. I’ve worked my way to the end of the Sale section, and they also have $5 Sing-a-ma-jigs. Those things give me nightmares.]

They had me at “LEGO”

Dear Fab.com,

Please stop having shops filled with cool things I want but don’t really need. Like today’s ROOM COPENHAGEN boutique filled with LEGO-shaped containers for every possible need, in a variety of colors. Too cool. But still, please just stop it. I’m not supposed to be buying anything else. I don’t care that it will all ship in time for Christmas and you’re giving free shipping on $75+ orders. I mean it.

Love,
Mir

P.S. I didn’t mean it, Baby, forgive me. And never change.

Every morsel of Harry Potter movie goodness

We own the Harry Potter movies on Blu-ray, because personally, I like to watch it on the big TV in the dark (preferably with popcorn and family members to snuggle), but I could definitely see wanting the movies on DVD for, say, traveling. Imagine a long road trip with the kids, and how many hours of happiness you could get with Harry on board? Exactly!

Right now Amazon has the Complete 8-film Harry Potter Collection available on DVD for just $27.99 shipped. That’s their lowest price ever by about $12, and all the other current buying options start at around three times that amount.

I’m not saying you need this, I’m just saying that if there are road trips in your future, it’s definitely something to consider.

Your daily Lightning Deals reminder

Yes, yes, I know, you’ve already got the Amazon Lightning Deals page open on your desktop at all times, right? No? Just me? Get with the program, people.

The wide variety of offerings continues to crack me up. Coming up in about ten minutes is a variety of high-quality tools (awesome if you’ve got a hard-to-buy-for fix-it type in your life), plus some jewelry and then the next crop of deals after that includes… a banjo. Yes. Because of course.

[Hey, here’s a piece of good news for those of you who’ve never been Amazon Mom members: The program has reopened! If you’ve never been a part of it before, you can sign up for three months of Prime for free, which will come in very handy through this, my favorite season. (No, not the holiday season. The Amazon markdowns season!) Just make sure to go into “manage my Prime membership” after you sign up and turn off automatic renewal, if you don’t want to pay. Also, if you’ve never had Mom Prime before, it’s fantastic because it gives you extra Subscribe & Save discounts on things like diapers/wipes, plus free Prime will change your life. And no, you don’t have to be a mother (or even a parent) to sign up. But if you have ever had a Mom Prime account, you will not be able to sign up for the free trial—this is just for those of you who are new to it.]

A stocking stuffer’s delight

Want to get a bunch of stocking stuffers out of the way in one fell swoop? Today’s featured deal at Graveyard Mall (until they run out, anyway) is a “Women’s Stocking Stuffer Box.” $19 plus $2.99 shipping gets you three pairs of designer sunglasses, a leather-strap watch, a digital photo keychain, and a pair of noise isolation earbuds.

I know Graveyardmall is rather famous for their weird and junky offerings, but I did a sunglass bundle with them last year (or maybe the year before?) and received some really nice stuff for a stupidly small amount of money. (Proof positive that the goods were awesome: My teenage daughter promptly made off with a couple of pairs.) Given that the keychain alone is probably worth $10 or $15, $23 for all of this seems very reasonable if you can use the included items.

Have a very Vera holiday

If you’re a Vera Bradley fanatic, today would be a good day to check out their sale section—in addition to their usual sale offerings, they’ve also just discounted five recently-retired patterns and taken 25% off everything available in those, too.

This is exciting to me because it includes “Floral Nightingale,” which is both 1) a much more modern print than some of their others (and pretty) and 2) something that makes me giggle every time I hear it. (I’m a sucker for puns.)

There’s automatic free shipping on your $75+ order, as well. (Never ordered from Vera before? This is one of my favorite places to get gifts—they package everything so beautifully, all you need to do is maybe add a ribbon before you put it under the tree.)

Stuff your stocking with Kirby

Looking for a fun Nintendo DS game for someone’s stocking? Right now Buy.com has Kirby Mass Attack available for just $9.99 with free shipping. (For comparison: The direct price from Amazon is $26 (!!), with their cheapest option being around $13.)

Not a huge discount, but a good deal, especially considering that 1) the reviews are great and 2) it’s Kirby, man. Kirby is adorable. (Note: Children do not find it amusing when you talk to Kirby in a baby voice. Apparently that’s insulting. Well excuuuuuuse me.)
