Stock up for family game night

Listen, I know we’re all busy keeping an eye on the Lightning Deals at Amazon, but don’t forget that they’re starting to roll out about a zillion other promotions, as well. Like this one: Buy any two select Winning Moves Games and you’ll get 40% off both of ’em at checkout. Pretty sweet.

Need some suggestions? We really like No Stress Chess and Tribond, plus Scattergories is a perennial favorite so I’m eyeing the Scattergories Categories and Scattergories the Card Game versions, too.

Decisions, decisions. (Oooooh—Super Scrabble! Pretty sure my husband is going to leave me if I buy another Scrabble board, though.)

Cyber Monday came early to the Discovery Store

Oh, Discovery Store, how I love thee! You carry everything from cool toys to all things Mythbusters, which means there’s truly something for everyone in my house, there. And today you can get a jump on Monday by shopping their specials and using coupon code CYBER25 for an additional 25% off even the special discounts.

Spend $100+ and your order ships for free, too. Maybe it’s time for me to get all of those Mythbusters bobbleheads I consider every single year…?

Two more days of Doorbusters at Lands’ End

I keep thinking I already posted about this, but apparently I didn’t, because I am old and senile. Whoops.

Anyway, Lands’ End has been doing something a little different this year—for one week, they’re doing a batch of doorbusters every day. (Is this instead of St. Nick’s Pick, or just a preview to it? I guess we’ll have to wait and see!) Tomorrow morning’s offerings will include $49 Polartec zip jackets for the kids for just $15, so I thought I’d let you know today so you can plan to check it out early (deals go live at 6:00 a.m. Eastern time).

In addition to the doorbusters, you can use coupon code WONDERLAND with PIN 2126 for 30% off and free shipping on your order. Do note that it won’t actually take a further reduction on the doorbusters, though. 30% off everything else, plus free shipping.

Now, let’s see if I can remember to get on there first thing tomorrow to snag that Polartec.

The name’s Bond. James Bond.

Ahhhh. I slept hard last night. (And I slept late. Someone please pass the coffee.) Did you have fun yesterday? I did, but man, I was exhausted by the end.

I figured the deals couldn’t possibly be as good today, but the first thing I did this morning was check the Amazon Gold Box and whoa—they’ve got Bond 50: The Complete 22 Film Collection on Blu-ray for $99.99, today only.

Small confession: I have always loved the Bond movies, but we, uh, don’t get out all that often, and so when we finally went to see Quantum of Solace I was totally stoked… and then disappointed. I just didn’t like it that much. Had my Bond love ended? Thankfully, no—we saw Skyfall last weekend and it was awesome. I guess one bad film out of 22 isn’t such awful odds.

Anyway, $100 shipped for 21 awesome movies and 1 so-so movie is still a pretty good deal… particularly if you have a hard-to-buy-for action film fan on your list.

[Edited to add: My husband just, okay, I’m not going to say ran, but walked very quickly to his computer. “I know what we’re doing over Winter Break!” he said, rather gleefully. Heh.]

[Second edit: Amazon pulled the deal due to “high demand.” Boo. Did you get yours??]

Black Friday still rocking over at Folica

I swear, I am trying to get offline (hey, at least I moved from my desk to my laptop—I’m on the couch, now), but the deals just keep coming.

It turns out that today you can use coupon code TURKEYDEAL at Folica for $25 off your $75+ order, plus free shipping. If you’ve been wanting, say, a flat iron, this is the time to get one! They’re having a $75 special on a Sedu right on the front page, so you could get that for $50 shipped, which is just crazy.

Apparently I suffer from amnesia, because this was their Black Friday deal last year, too, and I totally forgot until tonight. Whoops. But hey, there’s still time.

One more Black Friday bonus: Avon

I’m thinking about getting off the computer soon (I know—blasphemy!) as my eyes are starting to cross a bit. Thirteen hours online will do that to a person.

But! Before that happens, I have two more things to do. First, today’s contest closes in about five minutes, so I’ll be dealing with that and choosing a winner. And second, today every order at Avon ships for free with coupon code CODEBLACK. Check out the Outlet for the best deals, but stocking stuffers abound, and they also have a “Hot Deal” bundle of 12 holiday-perfect items for $9.99, as well as a couple of Black Friday deals that are marked way down.

Plus, if you have a tween or teen who always wants new nail polish, Avon is always affordable, has lots of colors, and the quality’s not bad.

The Allure Holiday Box is here

Love your summertime Allure boxes? It’s time for the Allure Holiday Box! $29.99 plus $10 shipping gets you all of the pictured products, plus they’ll make a donation to ovarian cancer research.

Typically these boxes are a great value—I saw one site estimating the contents in this one are worth about $150—so if you love trying hot new beauty items (or want a bunch of stocking stuffers that make you look like a big spender!), you might want to check it out.

My husband is good for a laugh (and a camera rec)

Y’all, I got up around 5:00 today. I’ve been working all day. A large percentage of the deals I’ve highlighted have been at Amazon. Throughout the day, my husband—now long-used to how Black Friday works ’round here—has passed through my office half-a-dozen times, always offering to top off my coffee or fetch me some food or whatever.

Just now an Instant Messenger window popped up (what? he’s upstairs, man) on my screen with him sputtering about how much he hates Amazon. When I asked what seemed to be the trouble, he pointed me at today’s Gold Box deal (which, coincidentally, may be just about the only thing on Amazon I haven’t linked to, today). It seems that the featured Canon PowerShot S100 gets—and this is a direct quote—the “Otto Appropriate Seal of Approval,” but he’s a little bitter because he bought it six months ago for $100 more than they have it, today. (In case you’re new around here: The husband is a professional photographer. He owns an entire roomful of cameras and lenses, but he also has two high-end point-and-shoots he uses as “carry everywhere” cameras, and this is one of them.)

“That camera is phenomenal in terms of durability and features,” he said, right before he began ranting again about the $100 he could’ve saved if he’d waited.

I’ve trained him so well, y’all.

Ultimate ULTA, just for Black Friday

Ooooh, how could I have almost forgotten about one of my favorite holiday deals? Every year around this time, ULTA marks down their already-value-priced cases of make-up—perfect if you like to experiment, or for a teen just getting into the world of added color—from $25 to $17. Heck, at these prices, you can get one for your tween and keep her out of your favorite makeup. (Mind you, these cases are generally valued at around $200, anyway.) And today they’re offering free shipping on every $25+ order with coupon code HOLIDAY2012.

The cases vary, but you get a huge variety of items in each one. And then there’s the rest of the deals today, too. Sweet!
