Make it Personal

Struggling with finding a gift for that hard-to-buy-for person on your list, or feeling like it might be a good year to replace the Christmas stockings? You’ll never go wrong with a personalized gift, so check out Personal Creations for just about anything you might need personalized. They’ve got a whole array of holiday items, yes, but also all sorts of other items for the home, for your pets (really), etc. (Yes, you can buy a personalized bone-shaped stocking for your dog. If I ever get to that point, please stage an intervention for me.)

Anyway, right now you can use coupon code BLOGGER25 to take 25% off your order total. That should give you a little bit of holiday help no matter what you’re buying.

Ocean’s eye candy

I’ve heard there’s a few pretty snappy plot lines in the Ocean’s trilogy of movies. I mean, I’m sure I heard someone say that. Me, I’ve seen the first two movies, and pretty much all I remember is… mmmmmmm, George Clooney. And some other guys. And… there’s a plot? Sure, okay.

Uh, if you’re paying a little more attention to the actual scripts than I am, you may wish to nab the entire Ocean’s trilogy on Blu-ray at Amazon right now for just $9.99. That’s a lot of Clooney. Or a great movie marathon. That too.

I wouldn’t kick it out of my stocking, is all I’m sayin’.

Get your pants on (sale), at Dockers

You have until 8:00 p.m. Eastern tonight to clean up over at the online Dockers store—they’re offering 40% off orders of $100+ with coupon code EARLYCYBER. Every order of $50+ ships for free.

I was thinking this was perfect if your guy needs a bunch of new pants, but hello, they sell plenty of women’s options, too. Some of their tops are really cute, also, so it’s more than just pants.

Not a bad way to warm up for the crazy sales that’ll be coming on Friday and next Monday, right?

You’re tracking the Lightning Deals, right?

Just a quick reminder that—amongst the Woot-Off and other flash sales happening today—today’s the day that Amazon really starts to crank up the Black Friday Deals Week Lightning Deals.

I already snagged a Hoover SteamVac this morning (I know, I’ve been posting deals on these for years, but I hadn’t succumbed until today) for just $76 with a $10 mail-in rebate. I am unreasonably excited about it.

Anyway, the deals are flying fast and furious, so if you’re like me, you’ll just open up a window and leave it going on your desktop. I can’t wait to see what other goodies pop up this week! (Ooooh, Betsey Johnson fleece-lined leggings just came up for $15. Nice.)

Want more fast-paced deals? BOOM!

CowBoom, that is. Every time I click on their Deal of the Day today it cycles to another product, so they’re having some sort of Woot-Off-like flash sale event, as well.

So far I’ve seen several smoking deals on cameras and camcorders. Now I’ll be watching it along with Woot to see what else pops up. Don’t like the current deal? Just hit refresh. (It’s a little frenetic. I recommend more coffee if you want to keep up.)

It’s going to be a busy day, y’all.

Put a Lorax in their stockings

Right now Amazon has The Lorax on DVD for just $3.99, meaning you can buy it for about the same cost as renting it. Wouldn’t that be perfect in someone’s stocking next month? I think it would. (Free Prime shipping, or eligible for free Super Saver Shipping on $25+.)

And I’m saying that because of the important environmental message of the story, not because I think the barbaloots are just adorable. Seriously. I mean it. Stop looking at me.

[Edited to add: Would you prefer Horton Hears a Who, instead? Also just $3.99.]

I hope you didn’t have plans

I know it’s totally weird for this to happen on a Monday, but what better way to kick off the countdown to Black Friday than to start the week with a Woot-Off? There’s rotating deals all day on Woot, Home.Woot, Kids.Woot, Sport.Woot, and Wine.Woot. It’s like an early Christmas present! And don’t forget that $5 ships your entire day of purchases, so buy early, buy often, and don’t worry about racking up shipping costs.

And on top of all of that, today Shirt.Woot has what may be my very favorite t-shirt of all time. I can’t stop laughing.

I think this is a sign that it’s going to be a very good day, indeed.

Make today merry

If you want to get a jump on clothes shopping (for the holidays or for whatever; it doesn’t matter), today and tomorrow you can save 30% at Gap, Old Navy, and Banana Republic when you use coupon code MERRYDAY. That same coupon will take 20% off at Piperlime, too, lest you worried that they were feeling left out.

Remember that it’s a shared cart between all these stores, and a combined total of $50 (or anything from Piperlime) ships it all for free.

LEGO storage made simple (and cheaper)

If everyone’s favorite plastic bricks are taking over your house (or are about to, once Santa brings some more), check out this LEGO 6-Case Workstation and Storage Unit with 2 Base Plates at Amazon—it’s everything you need to get everything organized and up off the floor when playtime is over. Even better, if you look in the righthand column of “More Buying Choices” you’ll see that when you select Amazon as the seller, you can get it for just $35 shipped instead of the $60 price tag.

My favorite part is that it comes with two base plates, which normally run $7 apiece on sale. So basically you’re getting this massive storage unit for $21 after you pay for the plates. Plus you’ve got all those cool cases with handles if you ever need to take some LEGO on the go with you. Very cool.

Free romance for your Kindle

Looking for a romance read for your Kindle, free of charge? This weekend you can grab Set Up by Cheryl B. Dale for free, and won’t reading about fictitious romance and intrigue be a nice distraction from the regular holiday drama of relatives making mountains out of molehills? (Maybe that’s just my family….) Regardless, it’s free, and has great reviews, so get it while the getting’s good.

[Thanks for the tip, Buz!]
