Learn all things Ninjago
This is my favorite time of year, have I ever mentioned that? Sure, the holidays, family, all of that is great… but mostly I love the LEGO deals. Ha! Sad but true.
Right now Amazon has their lowest price ever on the DK LEGO Ninjago: Character Encyclopedia at just $10.10. It’s 176 pages of everything your little one could possibly want to know about all things Ninjago, plus it comes with an exclusive minifig. I love these books for getting our brickheads excited about reading, and it looks like this one is no exception.
Also, note that this item (like many others right now) is available for free one-day shipping if you pay with a Discover card and use coupon code DSCVRHSP.
A very Star Wars Christmas
If you’ve been wanting the LEGO Star Wars Advent calendar for this year, you’ve no doubt been watching it and trying to get over the sticker shock. With a MSRP of $50, I personally believe it should contain actual gold along with space frankincense, or whatever.
Anyway, I still think $35 is a little bit steep, but that’s Amazon’s current price and it’s the lowest it’s been. For die-hard fans/collectors—or generous grandparents—now is the time to buy if you’ve simply got to have this one.
I have to confess that I find the minifig AT-AT kind of adorable.
Relive the Olympics, the Mario and Sonic way
If your kids can’t wait to relive all of the 2012 Olympic fun with their favorite video game heroes on the Wii, you’ve maybe choked just a bit when noticing that Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympics is still running about $40 at Amazon. Sure, it might be a lot of fun, but that’s a lot of dough for a single game.
Here, let me help: Today the same game is part of the Best Buy Deals of the Day for just $17.99 with free shipping. Now that’s more like it!
(By the way, does Sonic remind anyone else of Ryan Lochte…? I’m just sayin’.)
Finish the dishes, for less
Have you run out of automatic dishwashing detergent from the last deal? Not to worry, I’ve got you covered—right now Amazon has the 45-pack of Finish Quantum for $10.74. Not bad, but not great. But! There’s a coupon to clip mid-page that gives you an additional 20% off, plus you get another 5% off and free shipping when you buy via Subscribe & Save. You end up with 45 loads of dishes taken care of for just $8.05 to your door, or just under $.18/load.
Now, if only I could find a deal on a someone to load the dishwasher without whining. Ahem.
TGI… tablet
If you’re in the market for a cheap tablet, today’s your day to check out Cowboom—they’re having a tablet blowout sale, today only. They’re running everything from Nooks to iPads, rotating through the deals all day long. True, they’re refurbished—so maybe not ideal if you’re trying to impress someone—but a great way to pick up a practically-like-new unit on the cheap.
It could be a good day to snag a bargain if you have a little bit of time to keep your eye on the deals.
Holiday shopping smells good today
Through 4:00 Eastern this afternoon only, Bath & Body Works is offering 20% off all orders with coupon code HOLIDAY2012. You can combine that with all of the sales and specials going on right now, so it’s a perfect time to scoop up all the stocking stuffers you’ll need.
Or you could just stock up on the stuff you love. I don’t judge.
You know how I love Mel Brooks
Regular readers will remember that I posted this that last time it showed up in the Amazon Gold Box, and I did, but 1) maybe folks either weren’t around or didn’t grab it last time and 2) it’s even cheaper now.
Today you can get the entire Mel Brooks Collection on Blu-ray for just $25.99 shipped. That’s 9 discs of punny entertainment, people. And these movies are classics! I think it may be time to introduce my kids to the awesomeness. I can hardly wait.
Kohlsday is your election day palate cleanser
This morning you are either giddy or crushed, and chances are that either way, there are some friends on Facebook and Twitter towards whom you’re having less-than-friendly thoughts. I get it.
Here’s something we can all agree upon: Wednesday is an excellent day to shop at Kohls! I pledge allegiance to the Savings Party! (Too much? Just trying to keep it light, folks.)
Everyone earns $10 Kohls Cash for every $50 spent, and when you spend $50+ you get free shipping, automatically. If you have a Kohls charge card, you can use coupon code SHOP30 for an additional 30% off, plus coupon code MVCFSFREE for free shipping on any size order. No Kohls charge? No problem—you can still use code GRATITUDE for an extra 15% off your order.
Don’t forget that the Narciso Rodriguez collection premieres there today, and everything in it is 30% off. Combine that with coupons and you’re set for upcoming holiday parties and whatnot. I am really digging some of these designs.
It’s time to Prime for the holidays!
Oh my pretties, the most wonderful thing has just happened!
Those of you who are Amazon veterans know that there are usually free Prime trials to be had here and there, and maybe over the years you’ve used various email addresses to make sure you had a free trial for your holiday shopping—after all, once those Lightning Deals start flying fast and furious, you’re going to want that free shipping. But they’ve tightened up and maybe you’ve already had a free trial on all your addresses, so now what?
Happy holidays—right now you can sign up for a free one-month Prime Trial and when you go through that link, you’ll have the option to choose an $8/month monthly plan. That means you can sign up today, and for just $8 next month, you can enjoy Prime all through this peak shopping season. Then if January rolls around and you don’t want it anymore, that’s cool, go ahead and cancel.
I think this will be $8 well-spent. [Edited to add: I tested this before I posted it, but folks are reporting it’s not being offered to ever account. I’m not sure what determines if you get this offer or not, but I’m looking into it.]
Insert your own election joke here
How prophetic that Lands’ End has a new promotion going that I can feature today, given that half of my friends on Facebook are convinced the world is going to end tomorrow depending on the election results. (Rimshot!)
Regardless of your politic leanings, go ahead and use coupon code LOVEWINTER1 with PIN 1012 for 30% off and free shipping on any order, through November 13th. Whether or not your candidate wins today, combining those extra savings with existing markdowns means some of the best deals on stuff that carries the “Guaranteed. Period.” seal.
In case it’s not clear, I’ll vote for Lands’ End every time. Love ’em, with pink puffy hearts and everything.
