Ship it for free at Disney

Gearing up for Halloween? Today every order at Disney Store ships for free with coupon code FREESHIP, and there’s tons of costume items on sale, too.

You can use the free shipping on anything, of course, and because it works on any size order, you can get as much or as little as you want. I’m thinking that Muppets Animal Knit Hat might be a good Halloween costume for me. (Haaaaaaaa… made myself laugh for the first time today.)

A Columbus-worthy shoe discount

If you’re in the market for shoes today (and really, when are you not in the market for shoes?), celebrate Columbus Day over at ShoeMall—spend $50+ and you can use coupon code COLUMBUS to take $14.92 off your total.

Get it? Get it? You have to love savings with a sense of humor.

Some brand exclusions do apply, but it works on top of sale prices other than that, so you can stack up some decent savings.

Bonus savings at LOFT

I don’t know about you, but I feel like Columbus Day is best celebrated by scoring a great deal on something cute to wear. (What? Columbus wasn’t allowed to have a favorite outfit…?)

Today at LOFT you can save an additional 60% on already-marked-down sale items with coupon code LOFT60. Some of the sale stuff is already over half off, so the savings are hard to beat. And if you’re feeling flush, that coupon will take 60% off select full-price styles, too.

Shipping is free on orders of $125, or a flat $8.95 otherwise. It’s not as awesome as discovering a country, I guess, but it’ll do on a Monday morning.

Schoolhouse Rock! still rockin’

If you have fond memories of humming along to “I’m Just a Bill” (yeah, I’m only a bill, and I’m sittin’ here on Capitol Hill…), you might want to hop on over to Amazon to snag the 30th Anniversary Edition Schoolhouse Rock! DVD set for just $9.99 (free shipping with Prime, or Super Saver Shipping eligible on $25+). It’s two discs and all 46 original songs, most of which are probably still tucked away in the dusty corners of your brain from childhood.

No child should have to grow up without knowing that three is a magic number, y’all.

Knit fantastic sci-fi

Calling all sci-fi lovers: Right now you can get the Kindle edition of Wool—the first in a series of science fictions shorts by Hugh Howey—for free. Granted, it’s normally only $.99, but still.

You’ll want to grab that one and see if you like it, because if you do, they also currently have the Kindle edition of Wool Omnibus—that’s five Wool stories—for just $1.99.

And no, it doesn’t appear to really have much (if anything) to do with knitting. But I rarely see so many enthusiastic 5-star reviews, so it definitely looks like this is a winning series.

$15 fleece for one day only

Fall’s in full swing (even here in the south; I mean, sure, it’s 80 degrees in the middle of the day, but it’s cold at night and in the morning), and that means you may need a lightweight jacket to get you through. May I suggest Old Navy‘s one-day $15 fleece coat event?

Just $15 for every fleece coat they carry, from infant to Big and Tall. No matter who needs a jacket, they’ve got it for the same low price. And as always, shipping on your $50+ order is automatically free. But hurry—this offer is only good today (Saturday, October 6th), so get ’em while the getting’s good.

The must-have Minecraft gift this year

If you have a kiddo who’s a Minecraft addict, then you know that the moment there were rumors of an upcoming Minecraft LEGO set, it was pretty much game on in terms of the countdown to this year’s must-have holiday gift for our little brickheads. (Brickheads are different than blockheads; though when I’m trying to get mine off the computer to come to dinner, I’m not so sure.)

Anyway, if you’ve been looking, you may have noticed that Amazon only has the Minecraft set through 3rd party sellers, and the starting price is around $60. Ouch.

But have no fear! You can snag the first-ever LEGO Minecraft set directly from LEGO for $35 (plus about $7 shipping) right now and not be at the mercy of eBay jerks come December. Just a suggestion.

[Big, huge, sloppy thanks going out to Jill for a deal tip I actually needed for my own kid. Thanks, Jill! You’re so pretty!]

LittleMissMatched Columbus Day mania

Columbus Day doesn’t seem like that big of a deal, as holidays go, but I’m totally willing to get behind it now that I know that LittleMissMatched is offering both free shipping and 40% off absolutely everything to celebrate.

40% off crazy socks! 40% off cute accessories! 40% off pajamas! Heck, even 40% off their bicycles! You can’t go wrong at prices like these. Just use coupon code DISCOVER40 through the weekend, and you’ll score big savings and free shipping.

This is nearly as good as discovering America, clearly.

It’s a beautiful day for a trip and a laptop

Looking for a laptop? Today’s Daily Deal at Cowboom looks to be a rotating parade of deeply-discounted laptop options. If the one that’s up now doesn’t do it for you, keep refreshing—another will be along in a few minutes.

(Thanks for your patience this week. We’re currently sitting on a plane in Boston, about to head back to Georgia. My mother-in-law’s funeral was lovely, though it’s obviously something we wish we hadn’t had to do. I’ll be happy to get back to the deals.)

Hey, it’s cold here

Posting will be light for the next few days—we are unfortunately on a trip up north due to a death in the family.

While I marvel over the 1) pretty leaves (I forgot about those) and 2) potholes (I forgot about those, too), I’m also trying to stay warm in a place where it’s not 80 degrees in the middle of the day. I noticed that 6pm has a past season North Face boutique going on right now. If only I could get a cuddly fleece delivered to me here, say, in an hour….

That probably won’t work for me, but you should feel free to check it out. And I’ll get back in here when I can, but thanks in advance for your patience.
