Yard sale prices from your couch
Don’t get me wrong; I love yard-sale-hopping on a Saturday morning. I’m all about the thrill of the chase. But there are parts of it I could do without, like the 1) getting up early and 2) crazy people. (Fortunately my “crazy people” encounters have been mercifully few, but it happens.) And don’t even get me started on gross things. (Pro tip: If your item actually smells? Do not try to sell it. To anyone. Just throw it away. It’s okay.)
But! Today you can shop the big Yard Sale at 6pm.com, and enjoy great prices without all the rest of the typical yard sale hassles. Like, I can pretty much guarantee your ankles won’t get wet while you shop. (What, I’m the only person who ever had to walk across someone’s lawn when the dew was still on just to check out something cute? Nevermind, then.)
Nailed it
You likely already know that eyes.lips.face is the perfect place to stock up on whatever your makeup needs might be—everything is so inexpensive, it’s a great way to try new products without having to worry about buyer’s remorse.
Today’s a great day to shop ELF and get your nail polish fix along with your mascara (or anything else), though. Right now if you spend $20 (on anything!), you can add eight nail polishes to your cart and use coupon code 8NAILS to get the polishes for free. I actually think their polishes are pretty decent, but this is also a great way to stock up a little girl’s collection while not sacrificing your own beloved OPI or Essie or whatever. Heh.
Don’t want polish? That’s fine; spend $25+ and you can use coupon code SHIP25 for free shipping on your entire order.
Extra savings on clothing at Amazon
If you like to shop Amazon for their periodic deals on various clothing items, you’ll want to hop on this one—right now if you sign up to receive Amazon Clothing Store emails, they’ll send you a unique coupon code good for up to 20% off a purchase of up to $1000!
I know a lot of folks don’t like to do deals like this because they don’t want their inboxes cluttered up. To you, I say: Junk email address. Get one. I have one email address I use for these sorts of things, and it keeps my main email free and clear.
Get your Woot on!
I love the smell of a Woot-Off in the morning! It’s almost as good as coffee.
Today’s the day to park yourself in front of your computer so that you can scoop up the varied and amazing deals popping up on Woot, Home.Woot, Kids.Woot, Sport.Woot, and even Wine.Woot (which is often other food items or barware rather than wine itself).
If you’ve never been to a Woot-Off before (are you new here?), I apologize in advance. I hope you didn’t have any plans for today.
Two days to save even more on dining
Why, you young whippersnappers probably don’t even remember the days back when Restaurant.com had a coupon pretty much all the time. You didn’t buy there unless it was at least 70% off, and sometimes it went all the way up to 90% off! Those were the days.
Well, apparently someone finally figured out that they weren’t making any money doing that. Who knows. Recently you’ve had to settle for the “regular” prices more often than not—$25 of dining for $10 out-of-pocket. Still a savings, to be sure, but not quite what we’d come to love.
Today and tomorrow (August 20-21st) you can almost pretend it’s the old days—shop the dining certificates, then use coupon code 2DAYS to take 50% off. That’s $25 of dining for $5 out-of-pocket; not too bad.
As always, read the fine print! Terms vary from restaurant to restaurant, and there may be a minimum purchase and/or day-of-week restrictions. Know what you’re buying, then go forth and save.
If you’re new to the lure of Swedish cotton…
… then you’ll want to check out Hanna Andersson this week. Hanna devotees know that this company crafts their deliciously soft and adorable clothing from the softest cotton, some sort of dark faerie magic which renders said cotton virtually indestructible, and probably some form of crack. Basically it costs a lot but lasts forever, and there is nothing cuter than a kid dressed in Hanna.
So! Right now they’ve got their outerwear on sale, as well as select other items, and if you are a new customer you can also apply coupon code SHOPHANNA for an additional 20% off nearly everything (it will work on top of sale prices, but will not work on “very güd” prices). All you have to do to use the coupon is create a new account during checkout.
If you’re already a Hanna customer, maybe, say, your spouse or alter ego would like to create an account. I don’t judge.
May the deals be ever in your favor
If you’ve got a Hunger Games fan on your hands, don’t miss the opportunity to get him or her reading even more. (Or… I’ve been sitting here cracking myself at the notion of a Hunger Games birthday party, with books as favors. You know, for the kids who’re still alive at the end. Haha.)
Anyway! Amazon has a few goodies:
The Hunger Games: Official Illustrated Movie Companion for $1.84
The Hunger Games Tribute Guide for $1.30
The World of the Hunger Games (Hardcover) for $3.16
I also feel it is my duty to inform you that while looking around for these deals, I stumbled across a book titled Stars in the Arena: Meet the Hotties of the Hunger Games and then I had to stop and weep for humanity for a few minutes. Thanks for letting me get that out.
Reduce, reuse, re-fabulous
My favorite reusable bags are featured in a boutique today at Fab.com—if you don’t have a set of Envirosax yet (and especially if you have credit to spend!), get on over there and get some.
Granted, I may have something of a reusable bag problem. I have a grocery set in my trunk, a couple in my purse for errands, a few here at home for various toting here and there. Ahem. Stop looking at me like that. I’m saving the planet in style, darnit.
My Spidey sense is tingling
I can’t stop laughing. I don’t know why this strikes me as so hilarious, but it does.
If you live in a climate where your kid is likely to freeze his face off while waiting for the bus in the colder months, obviously you need to pick up this Spiderman face mask at Amazon while it’s just $4.53 (free Prime shipping or Super Saver Shipping eligible). In fact, if you have a lot of kids, please get one for each of them, because I am seriously laughing hysterically over here picturing four or five Spidermen all hanging out, waiting for the bus. Hee.
I am irrationally irritated that it’s too warm here for my kiddo to need one. Maybe stocking-stuffers for our cold-weather family, though….
Back-to-School in the Gold Box
Have you checked out today’s Amazon Gold Box contents? It’s chock-full of back-to-school deals, some up to 60% off. Why, I spy one of our favorite deals in there—a Brother personal electronic labelmaker for just $9.99.
It’s worth taking a look through the deals; they’ve got everything from highlighters to a cordless phone set (not my idea of typical back-to-school necessity, but to each her own), and the prices are certainly right.
