Rug bonuses, in case you need rugs

I know that for me, one of the unparalleled joys of summer is coming inside from the heat and padding barefoot across either the kitchen or family room floor, both of which are carpet-less. But come the cooler weather and those same soothing floors feel like fields of ice, just lying in wait to freeze my feet.

(It’s true. My life is hard.)

Anyway, the point is that I know maybe a rug isn’t on your shopping list right this second, but right now Home Decorators Collection is offering free shipping on every rug, along with a free non-slip pad. Buy one of their biggest rugs and you’ll get a free matching scatter rug, too. (See details on site; you’ll need to add the free items to your cart manually, and then they’ll be deducted at checkout.)

You may not be dying for those rugs right now, but frozen-toe season will be back before you know it.

Happy Anniversary, Sierra Trading Post!

Sierra Trading Post is celebrating their 25th anniversary, and it’s quite a party. Additional markdowns abound, plus they’re running some fabulous sweepstakes you can enter to win prizes.

If you’ve never shopped STP before (why not?), they have everything from underwear to binoculars, from pretty dresses to snowboard helmets. It’s weird, but it works.

Right now you can use coupon code AEM11 for free shipping on any order, too—even oversize items. I’m afraid my own anniversary wasn’t nearly this exciting (sorry, honey).

Make a habit of it

You’ve probably already seen Amazon’s latest baby, MYHABIT, a boutique-a-day site similar to, say, Rue La La. The advantages here are that 1) you can shop with your existing Amazon account and 2) shipping is always free. The down side is that the stuff they feature is often insanely expensive, even so.

But here’s the good news: Today their featured kids’ boutique is clothing from Soft Clothing, and it’s crazy cheap—particularly when combined with first-time-purchase coupon MYHABITX. That’ll save you $10 on your first MYHABIT purchase, meaning you can get a super-soft Soft shirt for free or grab another piece for just $5 after coupon. [Edited to add: The sizing chart on MYHABIT is wonky. If you’re unsure of size, please consult this chart.]

Coupon can be used once per account, on your first MYHABIT purchase. Happy shopping!

Epic Mickey for the holiday

Still holding out for the best deal on Epic Mickey? Check out today’s Amazon Gold Box—they’ve got Epic Mickey for just $18!

I won’t tell you it’s as good as fireworks, but I hear it’s pretty darn close.

An overshare about razors

Hey, guess what I did this morning! Guess! No, nevermind; you’ll never guess. Here’s what I did: I got into the shower and sliced my armpit open while shaving, because I was all out of fresh blades for my razor and yes, I’m the person they’re talking about when they explain how a dull blade is often more dangerous than a sharp one.

You’re welcome for (over)sharing, by the way.

I was out of razors because razors cost way too much and I hadn’t seen ’em on sale recently, by the way. But tonight? I found deals for me and the mister: Amazon has this 8-count pack of Gillette Venus blades for $15.99, less 15% with Subscribe & Save, plus if you live in a state where Amazon allows you to clip their coupons (we finally figured out some of you weren’t seeing the coupons because they’re not allowed in certain areas), there’s a $2 clippable coupon, making it around $11.50 shipped for the pack. For my husband, there’s the 10-count Gillette Mach3 blades for $19.40, less 15% with Subscribe & Save, and a clippable $3 coupon—they come to about $13.50 shipped.

And here’s another tip: don’t nick your armpit. It hurts. Ouch.

Saturday deals

Hey, it’s a holiday weekend. What are you doing here? Go out and make merry with loved ones and charred foodstuffs. I don’t mind.

Here’s a few deals in case you’re waiting for the grill to heat up, though.

To start, if you’re in the market for a food processor, the Amazon Gold Box holds an 11-cup Cuisinart for just $120 shipped (the lowest I’ve ever seen it). I don’t use my Cuisinart all that often, but every time I take it out I fall in love with it all over again. Definitely one of my favorite kitchen toys.

If you got the recent Groupon deal to Lock & Lock, they’re having a huge sale this weekend, so it might be a good time to go spend. Alternatively, if you don’t have the Groupon, coupon code QLTY4LESS takes an additional 45% off, sitewide!

There’s free shipping on everything at Delias this weekend with coupon code BLUE, much to the delight of my teen. (I swear, that site gives me whiplash. I bounce between “Oh that’s cute” and “over my dead body!” so quickly, it hurts. If you don’t mind wading through the skank-wear, they have some nice stuff. Heh.)

Checking out the big weekend sales at the department stores? At JC Penney? Use coupon code REDHOT for $10 off $25+; at Macy’s use code FOURTH for an additional 15% off; and the Power Hours are on at Kohls (Kohls card holders can use code ENJOYSUMMER for an extra 30% off and SHIP4FREE for free shipping, while those without the Kohls charge can use STACK15 for an extra 15% off and get free shipping on $75+ with the code on site).

Over at Lands’ End, use coupon code JULY4 with PIN 6530 for free shipping on $50+, plus a whopping $40 off $100+. If you’re placing a largish order that coupon is going to save you bundle.

And just in case all of that’s not enough, there’s free two-day shipping on $100+ at 6pm.com right now.

I hope you’re all having a great weekend!

Happy July 1st!

Have you seen my June? I seem to have misplaced it. I mean, it was right here and now it seems to be gone. Weird.

Anyway! Today’s Friday, which means that once again I’m hitting the Amazon Friday Sale and hoping for a return to the days of yore. Alas, it continues to be a festival of coffee and baby food. The Gold Box deal is half-off the Oral-B ProfessionalCare 1000, though, which is a pretty sweet deal if you’re looking for an electric toothbrush.

There’s also this Drum Drop Funhouse if you’re in the market for a cheap baby toy—just $6.30 (61% off) right now.

If you missed the luggage deal earlier this week—or if it was simply not the right one for you—you might want to check out today’s Deal of the Day at Sears. It’s a 3-piece American Tourister set for just $36. (Don’t forget that ship-to-store is free at Sears, if you’re willing to go pick it up.)

I’m digging all the sale patio sets over at Meijer—some of which ship for free—plus you can apply coupon code KIDS today only for an additional $10 off your $75+ order.

ThinkGeek is having their summer clearance sale, plus you can use coupon code 1GBB for an additional $5 off $30+ or $10 off $60+. They have my most-favorite-ever “geeky kids” twin bedsheets on sale (just $10 for the set!), which you should only buy if your kid likes robots, dinosaurs, ninjas, sea creatures, and aliens. Ahem.

Today and tomorrow, take 40% off everything at The Limited with coupon code FIREWORKS. Even works on sale items!

And don’t forget that many of the holiday deals I’ve posted the last few days run through the weekend. It’s definitely a good time to shop.

Free shipping The Body Shop is back

I know we just had this about a week ago, but then it was one-day-only and this time it’s through the weekend: Get free shipping on any $15+ order at The Body Shop, no code necessary.

The sale on their delectable body butters is still going on—buy 2, get 1 free, or buy 3, get 2 free—as well as select products being marked down to just $10. And even better, you can use coupon code 10OFF for an additional $10 off your $40+ order.

Who just got five body butters for just $38 shipped? That would be me. Booyah.
