Camping on the brain

Hey, I don’t know much about tents (or camping, really, come to think of it…), but this Eureka tent appears to be quite the deal. Great reviews, and at $95.64 and free shipping it’s around $100 cheaper than any of the alternative buying options.

And lookee here—looks like you can get a $10 rebate, too.

Sleeps 10, which means it’s a pretty big model, but worth checking out if you need a larger tent. Or a smallish jail for your children.

Happy nearly Mother’s Day

Hey, today marks the last Amazon Friday Sale before Mother’s Day. Too late to order anything for the big day, of course, but very timely if you’re wanting to get yourself a little something just to say, “Self, you’re awesome.” (Or, alternatively, to say, “Self, that is a mighty fine deal.” I shop that way all the time.)

If you need a serious baby backpack, this Kelty carrier is the gold standard. (I had a slightly lower model, back in the day, and while the price made me swallow my tongue, it really was worth it.)

I’m not normally a fan of accouterments for the inside of a car, but these seat covers just made me laugh.

Oooh, the George Foreman grill with removable plates is back. Not a killer price, but a good one if you’ve been wanting this. (Handy tip: Do not buy a Foreman grill with non-removable plates. Trust me.)

Nothing says “Happy Mother’s Day to me!” like the gift of a floor-washing robot. I’m just sayin’.

How cute is this little bookcase? So cute!

So the other day I said that Weber grills never go on sale, but that’s not entirely true. If you want this little one that’s a pretty great price. (And it’s so cute! And small!)

Cheap bamboo sheets! Only the queen is cheap, though—other sizes, not so much.

Oh, the things I learn at Amazon. I didn’t even know feet needed detox. Go figure.

Have a great Friday, everyone!

Make your guy snazzy

The big summer sale is on at Jos. A. Bank, plus they’re offering free shipping on orders of $175+. Now’s the time to stock up on wardrobe essentials for the well-dressed man!

Or, you know, the man whose wardrobe needs a loving overhaul. Go ahead; I’ll create a distraction while you throw away that Def Leppard shirt he wore all through college.

I call it tricking Mr. Murphy

You know Murphy’s Law, right? It states that that which can go wrong, will go wrong?

It can be further extrapolated to such obvious applications such as, if you carry an umbrella, it won’t rain. But if you do, it won’t. I often carry an umbrella just to keep it from raining.

What?

Anyway, that’s why it’s good to have a roadside emergency kit in your car at all times—so that you won’t need it. You can’t go wrong at $10 shipped, you know. Makes a great gift, too, because it’s sort of like magical protection, but much more useful and less gross than a monkey’s paw.

Stop looking at me like that.

And now I’m back to shoes

Hey, it’s been kind of a big day ’round here. I feel like I’ve been trying to get a million things done at once, and inbetween it all, a million other things. Ack!

Know what calms me right down? Thinking about shopping for shoes. Yes. And through May 12th, 2008, you can use coupon code Mothersday08 over at Shoebuy.com to take 20% off your total order. Remember they always have free shipping/returns and no sales tax, too.

If I didn’t have to much to do today, I’d totally be surfing for cute flats. Maybe you could go do it for me? Thanks, you’re swell!

Sometimes a great deal is. . . dull

I have a hard time getting excited about wiper blades, but that’s okay, because it’s still one of those things you’ve gotta have. And when they’re on sale, so much the better.

So check it out: Right now the Bosch evolution wiper blades at Amazon are on sale, plus they’re on a buy 1, get 1 free via rebate special (details on the individual wiper pages, as well as a chart to help you figure out which ones you need for your particular car).

So am I jumping with glee? Not exactly. But I’m still buying ’em.

Get your vitamins and stuff

If you’re needing some vitamins, minerals, supplements, or whatever else they sell at GNC (heck, they’ve got it all these days—protein powder! shark cartilage!), you have the through May and June to automatically get free shipping on orders of $75+. Even better, they’ll take 10% off your $75+ order and 15% off your $100+ order, automatically.

Because you can never have too much shark cartilage on hand, you know.

Lotta books, little price

Several of you wrote in to let me know that the big book deal at Weekly Reader is back; they’re offering 12 kids’ favorite hardcover books plus 12 CDs for $20. Even better, the shipping is just $3.85. This is a great gift-closet stocker if you want to break up the set, and an even better teacher gift if you like to contribute to the classroom library.

My kids are beyond this level, now, but I’ve bought this bundle a few times in the past and have always been pleased.
