Woot up your Tuesday
As much as I appreciate a Monday holiday, I don’t love how it makes Tuesday feel like Monday. (You feel me? No? It’s possible I need more coffee.)
Then again, there’s nothing like a Woot-Off to cheer me up; rotating deals all day long have that effect on me. They’re Wooting Off all day long today at Woot, Home.Woot, Tools.Woot, Sport.Woot, Kids.Woot, and Wine.Woot (motto: only wine occasionally, haha we fooled you).
Will all this Wooting impede my productivity today? Probably. Will it increase my happiness? Definitely.
Free shipping, extra savings
Hop on over to Forever 21 today for free shipping on any size order, plus an automatic extra 30% off sale items and various other sales.
This is a perfect time to pick up cheap leggings for your teen, which of course can then lead to the joy of further arguments about whether or not leggings are pants (they’re not). Wait. Tell me again why I’m shopping here…?
I’ve clearly lived in the South too long
I’m not sure what’s wrong with me—perhaps all those grits and grosgrain ribbons have finally infused my brain with a weakness for all things adorable and “down home”y—but today’s deal at Home.Woot is actually sort of charming me into thinking I really, really need a giant drink dispenser and matching mason jar-esque drinking mugs.
Do I need it? Probably not. Would it be awesome filled with tea or lemonade on a hot day, out on the porch? Of course it would.
Woot’s selling it for $40 plus $5 shipping. Looks like the regular price is around $70. I don’t entertain enough to justify it, but maybe you do. And if you get one, I want to come to your party.
Stock up on cool clothes for the teens
I always forget that Tilly’s exists, and I don’t know why, because they have a ton of the brands my teens love, and great sales.
Right now all sale items are discounting an extra 50%, automatically, when you add items to your cart. Spend $30+ (not hard; this is almost exclusively where I get the kids “cool” sneakers, now) and you can use coupon code SAVINGS30 for free shipping.
Then just wait for your purchases to arrive and your five seconds of being an appreciated mom. Or maybe that’s just how it works at my house.
Kohls free shipping is back
Know how there used to be free-shipping-on-any-size-order codes for Kohls cardholders all the time, and then there just… wasn’t? I used to shop them all the time and then I kind of stopped. Getting up to the $75 minimum just wasn’t as gratifying as a great deal on a couple of pairs of socks at a time, I guess.
Well, hip hip hooray, it’s back! Of course they’ve got Door Busters and other sales going, and you get $10 Kohls Cash for every $50 you spend, and everyone gets free shipping on $75+, and everyone can take advantage of the discount coupons on their main page (20% off $100+, or 15% off under $100). But if you have a Kohls charge card, you can also get free shipping on any size order with coupon code SHIPPINGMVC, plus an additional 30% off with coupon code NEWYEAR30.
I’m off to find the smallest possible deal so that I feel really pumped about that free shipping. I’m not even ashamed.
Stock up for the kids (especially on jeans)
It seems like forever since I’ve posted about deals at Children’s Place, but that’s probably only because I’ve been shopping in the grown-ups section for my teens and weeping bitterly. (I like how I don’t let my life get in the way of my work….) Anyhoo—surprise!—they’re having a big sale right now.
Every order ships for free, automatically, and items are already marked as much as 75% off. All denim is 60% off, plus you can use coupon code 76ED372 for another 20% off, which makes most jeans around $6.24. Crazy cheap!
You go shop. I’ll just be over here muttering about how expensive teenagers are.
Gamble on the Final Sale
Love Piperlime, hate their regular prices? Hop on over there today—Final Sale items (already marked way down) are an additional 60% off with coupon code BESTSALE. The bad news is that you can’t do returns, but at these prices, it may be worth the gamble.
Shipping is free. Throw anything into your basket from Gap, Old Navy, or Banana Republic along with any Piperlime item and those items will ship for free, too.
The Queen of stand mixers
It’s been a while since I last waxed poetic about my deep and abiding love of the KitchenAid stand mixer, but rest assured that our love affair continues. I used to own my mother’s KitchenAid, which I’m pretty sure was once her mother’s KitchenAid, and I loved it and crooned sweet nothings to it until it died one day. Fair enough; it was probably older than I am. Then I got a shiny, new KitchenAid and I use it all the time and I love it more than is reasonable. There is no greater workhorse in my kitchen than that stand mixer.
Of course, greatness comes at a price. A rather steep price, to be specific. So when I see a great deal on a KitchenAid mixer I’m always pretty jazzed about it. Been hoping for a shiny red mixer? Today’s your day—the Bonus Deal of the Day at Bon-Ton is the 4.5 quart KitchenAid Pro mixer for $189.97. Ship it for free with coupon code FREESHIP75, too. For comparison: Amazon has this model for $300ish, and I can tell you that the lowest they’ve ever had it at before is around $200 (rarely!), so $190 is indeed the lowest I’ve seen.
My mixer isn’t red, but I’m thinking that next Christmas I should definitely put this on my list so as to further glam up my favorite appliance….
It’s a beautiful day in the Kindlehood
Have a Kindle, or use the Kindle app on another device? Today’s a great day to stock up on educational e-books for less—the Amazon Gold Box is filled with nearly 500 discounted Kindle books “for students.” I’m putting “for students” in quotation marks because, sure, some of these books are actual classroom texts, but they also have a slew of biographies and other books nerds such as myself would happily read for fun.
And will I be spending $1.99 to send Stuff You Should Know About Stuff (How To Properly Behave In Certain Situations) to my son’s reader? Why yes. Yes, I will.
If you love Victoria’s Secret…
… today’s the day to get in there and stock up on your favorite panties. Through Wednesday, shop Victoria’s Secret and get 5 pairs of your favorite clearance undies for $15 when you apply coupon code 5FOR15.
It also looks like today you can get free shipping if you include an eligible (read: non-clearance) bra in your order, too, and use coupon code LOVEBRAS.
Make a New Year’s Resolution to throw away your old, ratty underthings, ladies. You’re worth nice lingerie.
