Clearance on boutique baby duds

May 31, 2007 | For the kids, Hot Hot Hot!

Royal Bambini is closing their online doors, and clearancing out their remaining stock for $3 and $5 apiece. Some cute stuff is still available (mostly infant sizes, though some larger).

This would be a great way to scoop up a nice baby gift and look like you spent more than you did. Shhhh, I won’t tell if you don’t.

Mwahahahaha!

Hot Hot Hot!, What to Wear

I just know that since posting this you’ve all been checking the Threadless Summer Sale every day. Because you’re pretty that way, and you know that they’re releasing six more shirts every day until June 3rd.

But I cannot resist pointing out that they just reprinted one of my very favorites. Hee.

More Amazon kiddie-lit goodness

For the kids, Hot Hot Hot!

If you went nuts ordering books thanks to this post you may find yourself annoyed with me for pointing out more great titles. In that case, look away! I think I see something shiny over there! Go check it out!

If you’re still here, you may be interested to know that the big Ologies Collection is now offered with free Super Saver Shipping. (If you ordered it with shipping, you may want to see if they’ll refund you. If you were waffling because of the shipping cost, now’s the time to grab it.)

Junior studying the Constitution in school? You won’t want to miss the whimsical We the Kids. It’s learning tucked in amongst easy-to-understand language and fun illustrations, and at 80% off it’s hard to say no.

Have a budding Hemingway on your hands? She might enjoy The Aspiring Writer’s Journal. Wouldn’t this be a great activity-sparker to have around this summer?

Okay, feeling too educational and stodgy? Pick up some Dino Poop. Sorry, it’s still educational… but at least the title will make everyone giggle.

Keep poking around in books… I’m finding tons of stuff at 80% off. And I am powerless against cheap books. Eep.

Classic is good, but Closeout is better

Hot Hot Hot!

Thank goodness that Classic Closeouts gives us both of these things together, right?

Through June 28th, you can shop Classic Closeouts and take $10 off your $50+ order with coupon code SPRMDS. Plus, all orders over $40 receive free shipping automatically.

(Fair warning: I find a lot of the items on their site to be less “classic” and more “streetwalker,” but it’s worth digging through to find the less frightening bargains.)

Because life requires more than a nice purse

May 30, 2007 | Bragging on a deal

So, I guess this Bloggers Choice Awards thing is going on a bit longer than I’d thought. I thought maybe they’d leave the voting open for, say, a month. But it appears that they’re going to leave it open for approximately forever.

And in the meantime, some blog about expensive purses is creeping up and threatening to knock Want Not out of the lead. Can we let that happen? I don’t think we can. I mean, let’s consider this.

They have: Purses.

We have: Dr. Pepper beef jerky, shoes shoes and more shoes, toys, books, clothes, general budget advice, free coffee, free ice cream, free dog food, free panties, free movies, Roombas, Scoobas, Dysons, people getting pregnant by Palm Pilots, cheap Pepsi, and a whole bunch of other stuff.

I think the choice is obvious. Please go vote.

Um. . . ewwww?

Retail gone wrong

I can’t decide what freaks me out more about this product: That someone thought to make it, or that people are apparently buying it.

(Would it be more or less gross to have Diet Beefy Dr. Pepper instead? Discuss.)

Even Bigfoot needs good shoes

Hot Hot Hot!, What to Wear

Father’s Day is coming up, you know, and nothing says “I love you” like a really large pair of shoes. Right? Right?? Anyone?

Okay, maybe not.

Still, if you have (or are!) a big/tall guy who wears one of those hard-to-find extended shoe sizes, buying good sneakers can be a chore. They’re impossible to find, and then they’re so expensive you probably can’t afford socks to go with ‘em. It’s a shame.

But look! What’s that I see? Is it a bird? A plane? No, it’s some Adidas Men’s a3 Gigaride Running Shoes in sizes 18 – 20 for just $30 shipped.

And seriously, if you’re buying shoes that size, you’d better be leaving me a comment telling me how tall the foot owner is. Because them’s some big shoes.

(Pssst! Have normal-sized man feet? Check out the Adidas Men’s Nova Cushion Running Shoe for $30, instead. Not as smokin’ of a deal because they weren’t as expensive to begin with, but you could pricematch at Zappos and get them for $26 shipped.)

A little spam for Fido’s sake

Hot Hot Hot!, Pets

If you go sign up for their mailing list, these folks will send you a coupon good for a 5-pound bag of their dog food.

I once posted a deal of this sort and someone protested in comments that they don’t want the email spam that comes along with these offers. I said before and I’ll say again: You should have a dedicated email account specifically for your internet shopping and mailing lists. That way your “regular” inbox doesn’t get cluttered up.

There’s a million free email services out there, so there’s no reason not to just create and designate an account for this purpose. Heck, I have about a billion Gmail invites left; let me know if you want one.
