You’re darn Skippy

I’m a Jif girl, myself, if forced to declare a peanut butter allegiance. (Hippie alert: Actually my all-time favorite is Trader Joe’s Almond Butter with Flax Seeds, if you must know.) However, I’m willing to cook with any brand of peanut butter, plus the food pantry is always asking for peanut butter. So.

Check it out: Right now Amazon is offering 6 jars of creamy Skippy peanut butter for $13.05, which comes down to $11.09 when you buy via Subscribe & Save (which also gets you free shipping), and comes down to just $9.13 after coupon code UNILVR55. That’s about a buck-fifty a jar, and the cheapest brand-name peanut butter deal I’ve seen in a long time.

It may just be time to stock up.

  1. It also works for Skippy Natural (although the natural is not quite as cheap), which we really like: much lower sodium and sugar than other brands, no HFCS, and no stirring or refrigeration required.

  2. Love that Trader Joes website you linked to, I subscribed.

  3. See, this is why I love this site.

  4. Adding to previous comment, at the pretty, pretty Mir’s request: BECAUSE OF THE SKIPPY! I am embarrassed by how much peanut butter I go through in a typical week, and I can’t blame it on anyone else in the house because I’m the plebian one in a house of expensive almond butter eaters. Also was allergic to peanut butter as a child and am making up for lost time. Is that more than you wanted to know?

  5. No, I feel closer to you now, Heidi. 😉

  6. okay.. so dont mind me sharing.. I went to Giant grocery, for those of you who dont mind going out and have Giant stores. Skippy Natural (and the other Skippys) are on sale $1, save 1.97. Well I grabbed one. At checkout it generated a coupon for $1 off 2. So now I get two more for $1! 3 jars for $2!

  7. Also, Skippy is on sale @ CVS (weird, I know) – all varieties are 3/$5 and you get $3 ECB when you spend $10. I bought 6 jars for $10, used 3 $0.60 coupons from this last week’s paper (all I had but goody for you if you have more!), got back $3 – total $5.20 for 6 jars ($0.87 each). Since my children think PB is a food group unto itself, this was a victory for me!

  8. I am hopping on board. I love Jif myself, but my kids love Skippy as well.

@Suzanne – I am glad that you got the deal at CVS. I have a problem with my CVS stocking more than 2 or 3 of the Skippy at any given time…even when it is on sale.

Thank you. You are very pretty Mir.

  9. Creamy? Bleh! I want super chunky!!!! But I do love Skippy 🙂 I’m not letting myself try the cool nut butters at TJ’s until I finish the jar I have in the house.

  10. Another fan of the Skippy Natural! Though I wish they’d put it in the giant jars and not just those teeny ones we go through in about 2 minutes.
