I’m pretty sure I would love this regardless of the name, but that certainly doesn’t hurt.
Check it out: Philips makes this ingenious 5-outlet surge protector in this funky squid design so that you’re not left with unusable slots due to oversized power plugs (as you would be with a conventional outlet strip). It’s just $9.99 with free shipping today at Buy.com (comparison: $25.94 at Amazon), which is a great deal.
And it’s called a PowerSquid, which is really just the icing on the cake. “Have you seen my PowerSquid?” “Plug that into the PowerSquid, please.” “Hey! Leggo my PowerSquid!” (It’s super fun to say. Try it!)
We LOVE these things! 🙂
My husband has 4 or 5 of these in his sculpture studio and professes his love for the squid often! I may pick up a few more for gifts. But btw, we paid about $19.99 at BJ’s… not exactly the $99 price tag they’re claiming, but still about half what we paid :).
Ok, I’m not getting the same price. Once I put it in my basket, it comes up 19.75. 🙁
Am I missing something?
Lori
and it JUST went back up to $28… it was $10 until i added it to my cart, in my cart, it’s $28 + $8 shipping. hmm…..
Ugh. Lame. I believe that’s called “pulling an Amazon.” 😉
yep, those are great but you can get them for about $20 anytime at Frys or BestBuy type places. Who knows where their $99 original price came from
We have a couple of power squids around the house and love them–so much better than the strip-type. I think we snagged them on a black friday sale last year for about $10.
Oh. Oh. I scored a couple of these at Target on post-holiday clearance last year. Yes, they are a lovely dark green Christmas color but for $5.99… who cares?
Oh man I was just about to nudge the hubs for my Christmas list again. Post-holiday…now that’s an idea.
Sold out now, with the price showing at $35.
Now it sounds like it could be some sick husband’s special pet name for his . . . you know.
