I’m pretty sure I’ve posted a deal on this 4-pound box of Traverse Bay Dried Cranberries before; I’ve ordered it a few times and have always been very pleasantly surprised at how much fresher the fruit tastes than Craisins. The berries are big and less… I don’t even know how to describe it… less waxy, I guess. Anyway, it’s currently just $17.37 shipped on Subscribe & Save, which is about $4.34/pound—a reasonable deal for quality dried fruit, but not a blow-you-away kind of deal.

On the other hand, Amazon is also currently offering this 4-pound box of Traverse Bay Dried Cherries for just $18.90 after Subscribe & Save, and that is an incredible deal because cherries are generally much more expensive than cranberries. I’m not sure I’d okay these as an eat-out-of-the-bag snack for the kids at this price, but this could keep us in baked goods and embellished oatmeal and such for quite a while. Yum.

  1. Thanks – that looks like an amazing deal on the cherries. And my family LOVES cherries!

  2. I ordered the cranberries! Paul makes little cups of trail mix for his commute, and he likes cranberries in it, and for some reason our grocery store has been having trouble keeping them in stock. So even though the price isn’t killer, it’s worth it to do four pounds’ worth of not-having-to-think-about-it!

  3. Annnnnnd then I went back and got the cherries too. I LOVE dried cherries, and that’s a great price.

  4. I wonder how well they’ll keep? I love dried cherries in baked goods (but like you said, we don’t just snack on them as-is because of the cost).

  5. When I buy these, I put them in the freezer and extract a small container at a time as needed for the pantry. Hope that helps!

  6. I don’t like raisins so I use cherries for baking, and I usually get them at Trader Joe’s since they seem to be freshest there. I calculated it out and to buy 4 lbs at my TJs would be $10 more than buying them from Amazon. You bet I got a box!
