If you love almonds…

… you’re going to want to hit up Walgreens, today.

If you do a search there on blue diamond almonds you’ll see that the 6-ounce containers of all their funky flavors—I buy the chili and lime ones for us grownups, and the honey roasted for the kids—are eligible for a buy 1, get 1 free sale. Now, usually when Walgreens puts the nuts on sale, there’s a purchase limit, and that’s probably because they usually only mark down the giant bags. But today it’s the flavored tins on sale, and you can buy as much as you want!

Shipping is free on $25+, automatically, but if you spend $30+ you can apply coupon code MORE5 for an additional $5 off (must be logged in to your account to apply the coupon). I paid about $26 delivered for 16 tins of flavored almonds, which works out to around $4.30/pound.

And I would love to tell you that’s a year’s supply for us, but that would be a lie. I’m hoping it’ll last a few months, though.

  1. We go through a lot of almonds here, too, so thanks for the info! I did log in and try to use the MORE5 code and was told “Coupon valid for first orders only.” If you know some magical way around this, let us know. I’ll probably order anyway; even though the two-for-one deal is good at the stores, it’s EMBARRASSING to go up to the counter with a whole shopping basket full of almonds.

  2. That’s… weird. I was certainly not a first-time buyer! Try codes SHOP5 or BUY4 to see if either of those will work for you.

  3. I’m trying the MORE5 code, but it says it’s valid for first orders only. Hmm, maybe I’ll sign up for an account for my husband instead…

  4. Nope, none of those other codes is working.

  5. My apologies, Heidi. Might be worth starting a new account. (I had to sign in to use it, so I had an account; I’m confused about why it worked for me.)

  6. Yeah, I just made a new account. No biggie! Thanks for the deal, Mir!

  7. Wow – just got an e-mail saying my order was cancelled because everything I ordered was out of stock. Bummer!
