Alert reader Maria dropped by the Want Not Facebook page to let me know that she ordered this 4-pack of Pumpkin Pancake & Waffle Mix from Amazon for under $6. (It’s currently priced at $5.36; buy it via Subscribe & Save for free shipping and an additional discount.) She says she was concerned it was a labeling error and she’d only get one canister, but it was, indeed, four! (A quick check shows that other flavors of these Golden Malted batter mixes tend to run about $19 for 4.) At this price you’re basically paying less than it costs them to ship it to you.
I make my own pancake mix, because I’m a hippie and because I’m gluten-free, but at this price I could see where this would be handy to have in the pantry (or to buy to donate to local food bank). Thanks, Maria!

I’m not a huge pumpkin fan, but I can attest that this is a great brand…we love the regular mix, and it has very little sugar compared to other mixes.

You pay the price you signed up at for the first delivery, and then if you maintain that subscription you pay whatever the price is when it’s time to ship again. Generally I sign up for S&S and then after I get my delivery I cancel everything, then reorder manually later if I need more.
