Longtime readers know that I am a fool for kitchen appliances (largely because I am a fool for food, and appreciate anything that makes said food easier to prepare), and one of my most beloved toys is our ice cream maker. I may or may not be having homemade strawberry-basil frozen Greek yogurt for breakfast right now, shhhhh. (Hey, yogurt! Protein! Don’t judge.)
Anyway! Right now Amazon has the Cuisinart ICE-21 Frozen Yogurt, Ice Cream and Sorbet Maker in red available for just $40 shipped. You’ll have to look to the right on the product page, to the “More Buying Choices” column to see it directly from Amazon at that price (it’s defaulting to a different seller who is charging $20 more), but that’s a sweet price on a nice machine.
If you don’t enjoy frozen confections then I can’t help you. Probably you hate kittens, too.
You must be psychic as well as extra pretty. Buying one of these was on my list for this week. I think this model was rated as a best buy by America’s Test Kitchen. I’m not too happy about the delivery date being the end of June; we’ve got house guests for most of June and I had dreams of lots of homemade ice cream. But we have one of those ball ice cream makers that will keep everyone busy and build muscles too!
I have been wanting an ice cream maker for literally years and couldn’t have been happier to see this today! This model is $60 at bed, bath, and beyond. Between the sale, free shipping, my reward points, and remainder of a partially used gift card I got this product down to $16! Crazy! Now which yummy, frozen concoction should I make first?
I got an ice cream maker as a gift last Christmas and haven’t used it yet. Can you recommend a book of recipes? I don’t know how to make my own ice cream!
We find a lot of recipes online (I have some of this in my freezer right now!), but for an actual book to give you a good base of recipes as well as to help you figure out the general “formula,” my favorite is the Ben & Jerry’s Homemade Ice Cream & Dessert Book.
