I’m just going to offer this up here to the GoPicnic folks for free, because that’s the generous sort of gal I am: They should totally make their tagline “Lunchables for hippies.” Because that’s, in essence, what they are. Little prepackaged snack- and lunch-packs reminiscent of those overly-processed trays of adorable food, but in organic and all-natural, healthy versions.
Do I buy GoPicnic packs all the time? No; the regular price is expensive and I prefer to pack my kids’ lunches myself, most of the time. Do I buy them sometimes on sale as a oh-no-we’re-running-late-grab-one-of-those sort of solution/treat? Yep. It’s convenience food, hold the guilt.
If you’re eligible for Amazon coupons, right now they’re running a 25% off clippable coupon on GoPicnic, and when you combine that with Subscribe & Save (particularly if you get up to 5 subscriptions for the month, for maximum additional discount), this is a great deal on their normally much-more-expensive offerings. (Just bear in mind that the coupon can only be used once per account, so if you want more than one item, you’ll need to order them the regular way, not via Subscribe & Save, so that you can add multiple items to your cart and get the discount on all of them.)
I ordered the 50-count case of Power Play Seed Mix and it came out to $19.67 shipped, or about $.39/pack. Not bad for a nut-free, 8g-of-protein handy snack to toss in lunchbags!
Wow, thanks! I see Groupons for GoPicnic regularly, and I’m a big fan of GoPicnic (I was friends in HS with the company’s founder!). However, all the online deals generally make you pay for shipping, so I’m happy to get free shipping on this deal. My order should arrive right about the time I get sick of making lunches for the new school year.
I filled my cart — but it’s only allowing the coupon to be used on one GoPicnic item. 🙁
Shoot, sorry about that; I think they changed the way those percent-off coupons work. Boo!
oh man. what ones are your favorites? I have had the black bean dip one and the hummus one. Both were underwhelming. I haven’t tried any of the others though. I LOVE the idea of these shelf stable meals though. I can only find a few of them at Target, so not the whole line. Must be gluten, dairy and egg free for me though. The tuna has dairy in it. Any suggestions?
That’s a lot of restrictions! My daughter likes the hummus one but I see that it’s changed a bit since the last time we bought it. And my son likes several of the meat-containing ones, but they come with cheese. Maybe look at some of the bulk single-item offerings, like the seed mix I bought? Not a complete meal that way, though.
This is amazing – I am traveling for work more often and this will make lunches so much easier for my husband when I’m away. Thank you!!!!
We keep one of these in each kid’s locker. That way, the day their dad forgets to give them lunch they can have something to eat (we’re GF, so school lunch isn’t really an option). I have one who likes the hummus one, and two who like the meat stick one. But they usually need a little more protein than that.
Thanks, Mir! I regularly forget to eat lunch when my kid’s in school and these are perfect. I had no idea they were available on Amazon. I love the pepperoni and cheese one. I’m dairy sensitive but this amount of cheese doesn’t usually affect me. And the almond rocha is my favorite treat. Pretty much all of them are good but I don’t like the soy nuts so I tend to avoid those lunches.
