Spring Cleaning at Mattel

There’s a bevy of toys with slashed prices over at the Mattel Shop right now—their splash page says “up to 60% off” but I’m seeing some deals in the Clearance section that are even cheaper. Definitely a great time to stock up.

Shipping is automatically free on your $40+ order, plus if you spend $50+ you can use coupon code 15OFFTOYS for an extra 15% off.

Big cars for little hands

I’ve never seen these before, but that’s only because my little darlings want the keys to my actual vehicle (please send help, and valium). Apparently these B. Wheeee-ls vehicles are all the rage on the toddler set. Pull ’em back and they race off, plus each one has its own unique sound. No batteries required, plus they’re BPA-, PVC- and phthalate-free.

At $10.84 and free shipping eligible, this is about half what everyone else is selling them for, too. Perfect for your favorite little one or to stash in the gift closet. [Edited to add: Looks like Amazon switched sellers and raised the price. It may still be available at Target for less, though you’ll have to pay shipping unless you have their credit card.]

Easter is coming (om nom nom)

I have a confession to make. I have… a wee bit of a sweet tooth. I know this comes as a complete shock.

Aside from chocolate, my favorite kind of candy is anything gummy and sour, like Sour Patch Kids or Sour Gummy Worms. The problem is that all of these candies are full of the artificial dyes and high fructose corn syrup I otherwise try to avoid. So I can’t say that I never indulge, but I try to keep it to a minimum.

And then—cue the angel chorus, please—I discovered these Yummy Earth Sour Beans. They’re sweet, they’re sour, they’re gummy… and they’re also made from fruit juice and are free of dyes and HFCS. Are they health food? No. Are they less guilt-inducing than neon gummy worms? Yes.

Anyway. I still try to keep the candy to a minimum, but you know, Easter is coming. Think of the children, I tell myself, while clipping the 15% off coupon on the product page and then adding these to my monthly Subscribe & Save order. After the coupon, S&S savings, and tax, I ended up paying $11.85 shipped for 50 servings of jelly beans, which means that’s Easter baskets sorted as well as a replenishment of my office emergency candy stash. Perfect.

Clearance on the clearance

Sure, it’s not my favorite store, necessarily, but my teen loves it and the prices are certainly right: Right now at Wet Seal, everything in the Clearance section is an extra 60% off when you place items in your cart.

Use coupon code 15SHIP15 for free shipping on your $15+ order, and you may be able to combine it with coupon code BEATLES20 for another 20% off.

Items are going fast, but if you can find some things you want, this is about as cheap as it gets.

Her secret is not-so-secret

I do have one complaint about Victoria’s Secret, and it’s that they seem to put their name on nearly everything. It just… doesn’t seem like much of a secret, that way, y’know?

You could stack up some deals there today, though. Here’s how:

1) Today (Thursday, 3/6) only, get a free workout bag (guess what, it says Victoria’s Secret Sport on it!) with any sport purchase and coupon code SPORTYTOTE. (I would not carry this bag, myself. But such things are practically currency at my kids’ high school. Just saying.) They have some hiphugger sport panties that start at just $12.50, which is great, because…

2) Spend at least $10 today and you’ll get a gift card worth at least $10 with your order. And it might be worth as much as $500! But $10 is guaranteed. This happens automatically with your purchase.

3) Buy two bras and you can use coupon code VSREWARD for a $15 reward card. So if you buy a couple of sport bras, for example, you can get the free tote and at least $25 in rewards back.

4) Finally, coupon code SPRING14 take $15 off $100, $30 off $150, or $75 off $250.

I still think their stuff tends to be overpriced and not the good kind of secret like some peanut butter cups stashed away where the kids don’t know about them, but if you dig their stuff, you may as well save while you shop.

A rare crazy-cheap Hanna sale

I don’t know that I’ve ever seen this before—today (Wednesday, March 5th) only, Hanna Andersson has all their clearance priced at just $10 or less!

Items are selling out quickly, but if you’re able to snag something you need, it doesn’t get much cheaper than this for some of the softest, highest-quality kids’ (and adults’, actually) clothing around.

6pm, I just can’t quit you

I start out with good intentions; I head over to 6pm.com because my quickly-sprouting kiddo needs some new sneakers, and there’s tons of ’em on sale today, but then I see that Dr. Martens are up to 65% off and Borns are up to 70% off and past-season outdoor stuff is on sale and and and… down the rabbit hole I go. So naturally I want to invite you down in here with me, because misery loves company and shopping loves… company. Or something.

Sorry, not sorry. Well, maybe a little sorry. Wait. Nope. Not sorry.

Pack it all up

If you’re in the market for cheap-but-not-so-cheap-it’s-crappy luggage, Amazon may have just the thing—their 4-Piece Fieldbrook American Tourister Set is currently priced at just $53.98 (its lowest price ever).

This isn’t top of the line American Tourister, for sure, but it should outlast any no-name brand you pick up at a big box store, and four bags for around $54 is a hard price to beat.

Now all I need is a $54 vacation, and I’ll be all set….

Take Minecraft to your Xbox

We don’t have an Xbox, because I am a monster. Also because if my son spends any more time gaming than he already does, he is going to run of out time for silly sorts of other life activities like eating and sleeping.

But! We play Minecraft on the computer, and apparently the Xbox version is a lot of fun, too. And because it’s so popular, it almost never goes on sale. (It’s currently $19.99 at Amazon right now, which has been the price pretty much forever. Here’s a rare deal, though—today it’s one of the Best Buy Bonus Deals of the Day at just $13.99.

Sure, $6 isn’t a huge deal, but why pay full price if you don’t have to? Also, if your family is still unfamiliar with Minecraft, I apologize in advance. It’s educational and wonderful, but also completely addictive.

If you love Dumbo…

… I’m not entirely sure what’s going on with this deal, but I prefer not to look a gift horse elephant in the mouth.

Today’s 1 Day Deal at Meijer is the K’NEX Disney Parks Dumbo the Flying Elephant Building Set for $29.79 with free shipping. The Meijer site claims this is half off.

Being me, I went to go price check it, because sometimes their original price is off. (Mind you, under $30 for an over-1,000-piece motorized set sounded pretty good, but you never know.) Imagine my surprise to discover that this same set is currently going for around $100 at Amazon. Maybe it’s rare? No idea.

Regardless, if you’re a Disney fanatic, and/or a K’NEX fan, this is one deal you should grab before it’s gone.
