Got daughters?

A million years ago when I purchased The Care and Keeping of You for my tween daughter, I was impressed with what a fantastic “get to know your changing body” resource it was without veering into “sex book” territory. I have probably recommended that book a hundred times over the years, even though it was almost always $10 and never went on sale.

Now I see that they’ve updated and split into two different books, and today they’re both available at their lowest prices to date. If you’re raising girls, check these out! You can get either The Care and Keeping of You: The Body Book for Younger Girls, Revised Edition for $6.02 or The Care and Keeping of You 2: The Body Book for Older Girls for $6.58.

Good stuff at good prices. It brings a little tear to my eye….

Hit the beach, Vera Bradley style

Feeling summery? Love all things Vera Bradley? Today (Tuesday, July 30th) only, Vera’s running a One-Day Beach Sale, with slashed prices on all sorts of goodies for a day at the beach. Whether you want a bag or some flip-flops, today’s the day to score a deal.

(I’m loving the Tune In MP3 player/headphones case for teens. At just $6.99/pop, we might scoop up a bunch of those for gifts.)

Spend $75+ and your shipping is free, otherwise it starts at $8. One thing I will say for Vera shipping, though, is that all of their stuff comes exquisitely packaged. I’m not much of a tissue-paper-and-associated-frou-frou type, and I am always impressed with the level of care they take.

iTunes? saveTunes!

I truly believe that somewhere there exists an alternate plane of reality where teenagers rule the world and the only valid currency is iTunes credit. (Think about it. You know I’m right.) In this reality, however, all we can do is wait for the periodic iTunes deal and jump on it when it comes, hoping to curry favor with our cranky teens. Or, uh, maybe that’s just me.

Anyway! Right now OfficeMax is doing an iTunes deal where adding 2 $25 iTunes gift cards to your cart will automatically change to cost just $40 with free shipping. That’s a 20% savings on your $50 worth of iTunes credit, and also a couple of very happy teenagers or some new music for you (either way).

Buy ’em now for holiday gifts, even. Just don’t forget where you stash them, because they’re small.

I love a good mystery

Oh man, this deal is making me nostalgic for the “Bag O’ Crap” that Woot used to do. If you remember those fondly, you’re going to love this: Today Groupon is offering a Midsummer Mystery Item. $15 gets you… something, from 25% to 99% off. There’s “a limited number of high-value items possible” so you could get something fantastic.

I guess the only question is… are you feeling lucky?

Half off Kidorable

Your kid is already adorable, of course, but you can make him or her Kidorable today with a half-off voucher from Mamasource Deals to use towards their impossibly cute raincoats, boots, umbrellas, and towels.

If you need me, I’ll be in the corner, weeping and humming “Sunrise, Sunset” over a very old picture of my son wearing their alligator boots about ten years ago. *sniffle*

Bonus Wootitude

Posting will be light for the next couple of days as I head out to Chicago for BlogHer. (Will you be there? Come say hi!) In the meantime, it turns out that there’s kind of a mini-Woot-Off happening today over at Sellout.Woot. A wee clearance sale, if you will. And I will, because this is a crazy cheap collection of deals, and it’s not like there’s anything else for me to do once I’m hunkered down at the airport….

Got backup?

If you’ve been waiting for the perfect deal on an external hard drive to back up your data, you could do a lot worse than this Seagate Backup Plus 3 TB USB 3.0 Desktop External Hard Drive at Amazon, which is currently being offered at its lowest price ever of just $99.99.

It does look like this model won’t work for Mac users, though. Just a heads up. For Windows users, though, this could be the deal you need.

It’s a fiesta!

I prefer my fiestas to come with nachos and margaritas, but seeing as how it’s not even noon yet, I guess this will have to suffice—GNC is offering a ton of one-day-only sales, today, including a (scroll down the landing page, there, to see it) “$5 Fiesta” where all included items are just $5 when you add them to your cart.

Shipping is currently just a flat $1 no matter how much you order, so it’s a great time to nab some deals. You probably have $1 in the bottom of your purse right now. (Uh, unless you’re a guy. In which case you probably have $1 in change in your pocket? Or in your couch. Whatever. Let’s not split hairs.)

Get your science on for a whole year

There was a period of time where the Mamasource Deals seemed to go on hiatus, and I have no idea why, but they’re back now, and today’s is a great one—get an entire year of Magic School Bus science kits (one every month) for $120. That’s half off the regular price! They’re perfect for budding scientists ages 5-12, and I’m only a little bitter that there isn’t a version for slightly older kids, too.

I realize this is pricier than the typical Mamasource deal, but given that it’s a good value (and an educational product) I felt like folks might be interested. Maybe you have a doting grandparent who’d like to make an investment, or you have a homeschooling budget, or something.

If you must use a mix…

… my children (those scurrilous gluten-eaters) assure me that this Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Brownie Mix is the crown jewel of boxed brownie mix.

For some reason they prefer this to the zucchini, protein powder, and oat bran ones I like to make them from scratch. (Weird!) And right now you can get 4 boxes from Amazon for $7.92, or even less if you buy via Subscribe & Save.

Go ahead, buy ’em. You’re a much nicer mom than I am.
