Let’s kick off the week with a Dyson alert
No matter how many times I post Dyson deals, there’s always someone who’s delighted to see it. The rest of you are probably rolling your eyes and all, “How many vacuums does a person need, anyway?” (But I appreciate your patience!)
Anyhoo, today at Home.Woot you can score a Dyson DC25 refurb in purple (so cheerful!) for just $230 plus $5 shipping. For comparison, a new one will run you $575 at Amazon, and even the refurbs there start at $420.
I am still sort of hoping for my Kirby to die so that I can get a Dyson, but the darn thing just keeps on going. I appreciate how well it works (and the fact that it’s now… ummm… about 15 years old, and what else lasts that long these days?) but I swear the longer I own it, the more it weighs. Le sigh.
Get Family Circle for less
Whether you love Family Circle or just find yourself picking it up in the supermarket aisle a couple of times a year, now’s the time to snag your very own subscription—Amazon has a year of Family Circle for just $5, right now, which is 12 issues for the cost of 2, basically.
This is one of those magazines I pick up every now and then and am surprised each time by how much I like it. Then I forget about it until the next time. (I’m like the Dory of magazines. “A good magazine? I saw a magazine! It was Family Circle!”)
Adorable treats, equally cute price
If you missed the deal a couple of weeks ago at Best Buy when they had various Nostalgia Electrics kits available for $9.99, today’s your lucky day: Amazon has the Bakery Bites Express Kit for just $9.99 and free shipping, whether or not you have Prime (just make sure to select “Standard Shipping” at checkout).
This particular model has interchangeable inserts so that the same machine can make brownies, muffins/cupcakes, or tiny bundt cakes. So cute! And this is a great gift for kids of nearly any age, from tweens to “kid on the inside” adults.
Now my only question is whether my kids will share nicely or if I’m just asking for trouble. (I know the answer to this. But I am a glutton for punishment.)
Save on your fancy coffee for once
Today at Groupon you can snag a deal that will get your heart pumping a little faster, and leave your wallet only half as unhappy as usual—you can snag a $10 Starbucks gift card for just $5!
Listen, I work from home and make my own coffee, mostly. But every now and then when I’m out and about I want something fancy with whipped cream on it. This is not a crime. Paying $5 for a tiny cup of said fancy coffee is, though. So grab this deal and feel fancy, without overspending.
Just note that this is an egift card that you print out from your computer—this is not the Groupon to get if you want a gift for someone. (Although… I’m guessing you could probably print it out and take it to the store and buy a plastic card, if you really wanted to.) (But really, you deserve a fussy coffee, yourself. Use it for you.)
Join the family at Reebok
It must be Friends & Family season, because right now you can use coupon code FAMILY at Reebok to take 30% off your order (and shipping is automatically free). Shop the sale items for the best deals, of course, but it should work on everything from workout clothes to fancy sneakers.
I’ll just be over here, curled up in the corner, now that I know you can actually spend $45 on Spiderman sneakers for an infant, if you’re so inclined. (Who buys those?? No, don’t tell me. I don’t want to know.)
Woot fresh water
I am totally intrigued whenever I see a commercial for that 4-bottle Filtrete station thing, even though I have a fridge/freezer that dispenses water. I don’t know what it is. I just find it fascinating for some reason.
And today Home.Woot is offering the newest version of the Filtrete station—new and improved caps to the bottles, plus they’re colored so everyone knows whose is whose—for just $19.99. A quick check reveals that the same station is $45 at Amazon, with great reviews.
Maybe I need to get this for when we go camping. At $5/bottle for BPA-free, that’s a deal, and I can basically consider the filtering unit a free bonus. (Hey, I think I just talked myself into it….)
Friends & Family time at Children’s Place
Have you already assembled whatever wee Easter duds your little ones will need? If not, head on over to Children’s Place for their Friends & Family event—you’ll save 25% on everything with coupon code FRIEND25H. Use it on whatever you need, whether it’s Easter finery or just a few clearance pieces.
Even better, today (Thursday, March 21st) only, you’ll get free shipping on any size order. So whether you order a lot or a little, you’ve saved a trip to the mall and didn’t have to spend a dime to get your goodies to you. Hooray!
Spring projects? Get More!
Don’t forget—if you have a Discover Card, you can sign up for their second quarter Get More 5% Cash Back Bonus right now. From April to June you’ll earn extra on your Home Improvement Store purchases, and it’s probably because we just bought a bunch of new shower faucets (prior to this bonus…) that this happened. You’re welcome.
Get your Geek on this week
Right now ThinkGeek has a slew of new additions to their sale section, including most of their shirts, which are at 25% off for two days only.
Shipping is a flat $5.95, but if you spend $75+ your order will ship for free, and really, is it too early to start holiday shopping? Think how smug you’ll feel, come next winter.
(I’m very torn on what shirts I simply must purchase. The “+20 Shirt of Smiting” one might be good for my D&D nerd, but then again, they also have a Rock-Paper-Scissors-Lizard-Spock shirt….)
The fun extends to shirts, too
If you’re watching today’s Woot-Off, you’ve already seen this, but just in case you haven’t: For one hour (until 3:00 p.m. Eastern), all of the shirts at Shirt.Woot are just $12 apiece with free shipping (that’s 20% off). Not bad if there’s a shirt you’ve been wanting, plus you don’t have to worry about it disappearing in the next 30 seconds. You’ve got most of an hour to decide!
