Just in time for your healthy resolutions
Did you resolve to take better care of your health in 2013? Eat less, exercise more? (If you did, will you exercise for me, too? That’d be swell.)
Amazon’s making it easy to stick to your new healthy plans, plus stay on budget—right now they’re offering up to 35% off two dozen Special K products. Qualifying products are reduced by 30% at checkout when you choose Amazon as the seller, and when Subscribe & Save is available, you can save an additional 5% with that.
They’ve got cereals, bars, snack foods, even protein shakes and water additives. And at a third off and delivered straight to your door, that’s nearly as good as being truly virtuous and eating nothing but spinach. (I’m kidding. Don’t eat nothing but spinach. It’s not a balanced diet and your teeth will turn green.)
Nerd up your kid’s Kindle

I think my own nerdling is going to love these.
Stop! It’s Boden time!
I hope you’ve been saving those holiday cash gifts, because right now Boden is offering up to 70% off on items, with just about everything in the store marked down to one degree or another.
Boden at full price = worth it, but somewhat cringe-inducing.
Boden at 70% off = no-brainer.
Items are selling out fast, but if you’ve been waiting for a deal, this is it.
Dine out for less this year
It seems like forever since we had a Restaurant.com deal, doesn’t it? Remember when they pretty much always had a coupon? Those were the good ol’ days.
It may not be as often that the deals come around, but they’re still worth snagging—today only (Thursday, January 3rd), use coupon code NEW for 60% off your purchase. That means the $25 dining certificate that was $10 is now just $4! That’s a $21 savings before you even put your napkin in your lap.
As always, restrictions vary by venue, so be sure to read the fine print before you buy. Some restaurants have minimum purchase amounts, some have day-of-the-week rules… just make sure you know what you’re getting. And then enjoy your savings.
Makeup brushes to celebrate 2013
Alert and pretty reader Dawn pointed out to me that e.l.f. is running a special this week where if you spend $20, you can pick up their (normally $30) 11-piece makeup brush set for just $2.13, too. And of course just about everything they sell is dirt cheap, so reaching $20 is no problem.
Personally, I’m a complete dork when it comes to makeup, and I already have a set of brushes—and no idea what to do with them—but I’m sure some of you pretty folks will find this a useful deal. Thanks, Dawn!
But in case you got some TV money…
… I do have one more holiday-worthy deal to put out there.
Amazon has this 32″ Toshiba LCD HDTV at its lowest price ever, right now—just $199. Yes, it’s only 720p, rather than 1080p, but the human eye can’t discern the difference past about six feet away from the screen, and if you’re sitting closer than six feet, stop it, didn’t your mother tell you you’d ruin your eyes that way?
Those of you who’ve been around here for a while know my feeling on televisions: Buy a smaller TV, or a lesser resolution, in a better brand (rather than going no-name brand on something bigger/better). For my money, this is a perfect intersection of trusted brand, decent size, good specs, and great price.
And just like that, two days from now our last old tube television will be leaving the house. I suspect there will be much rejoicing by the teenagers.
Back to real (boring) life
Well, it’s finally over. So long, Christmas. So long, New Year’s. School vacation is either over or drawing to an end. Most of us are back at work. Real life is now resuming.
Bummer.
If part of your post-holiday organization involves realizing that your houseguests used up most of your paper products, don’t sweat it. A couple of specials from before the holidays are back at Amazon, again—you can get this 48-count case of Angel Soft double rolls for just $20.50 shipped when you clip the $1 coupon and buy via Subscribe & Save, or (for those of you with fancier taste) get this case of 48 Quilted Northern double rolls for $21.74 shipped after clipping the $1 coupon and buying via Subscribe & Save. You can also snag this 16-count case of Sparkle Pick-a-Size Giant Rolls for just $14.14 shipped when you clip the $1 coupon and buy via Subscribe & Save.
It’s not as exciting as holiday shopping, granted. But maybe it’ll help you ease back into regular life.
An extra 50% off, one day only
It’s one of my favorite sales of the year—for one day only, Dillard’s is automatically reducing all sale items by an additional 50%. This is typically where I pick up “special occasion” clothes at a price I can stomach, but they have all sorts of items, of course.
You do have to pay for shipping from Dillard’s, which is a bummer, but I find the big sales like this usually still make it worth it.
Happy shopping!
Ring in the New Year with $20.13 deals
That’s right—6pm.com isn’t going to miss a chance to tie a holiday to a big batch of deals. So today they’ve got pages upon pages of sweet deals on clothing, shoes, even accessories, for just $20.13 each.
I’m not really in need of anything, you understand, it just seems like it would be silly not to look….
Happy New Year from Children’s Place
Far be it from Children’s Place to let an occasion pass without offering free shipping and 30% off, you know. Just use coupon code HAPPYNY30HP to score the savings.
And while you’re at it, have a very happy new year, okay? Too many people I know were thrilled to see 2012 make its exit. Here’s to a happier 2013!
