The owner’s manual for your Star Wars fan
Okay, maybe you can’t buy an actual Millenium Falcon—really, where would you park it?—but right now you can snag the Star Wars: Millenium Falcon 3-D Owner’s Guide for under $6 at Amazon (Prime and Super Saver Shipping eligible). It’s a pop-up book, but it’s extremely detailed and meant for ages 9+.
It’d be a great addition to any Star Wars devotee’s library, and a good one for the gift closet, too, if you know a whole pack of kids who’d like a tour of the coolest space vehicle ever.
If you love almonds…
… you’re going to want to hit up Walgreens, today.
If you do a search there on blue diamond almonds you’ll see that the 6-ounce containers of all their funky flavors—I buy the chili and lime ones for us grownups, and the honey roasted for the kids—are eligible for a buy 1, get 1 free sale. Now, usually when Walgreens puts the nuts on sale, there’s a purchase limit, and that’s probably because they usually only mark down the giant bags. But today it’s the flavored tins on sale, and you can buy as much as you want!
Shipping is free on $25+, automatically, but if you spend $30+ you can apply coupon code MORE5 for an additional $5 off (must be logged in to your account to apply the coupon). I paid about $26 delivered for 16 tins of flavored almonds, which works out to around $4.30/pound.
And I would love to tell you that’s a year’s supply for us, but that would be a lie. I’m hoping it’ll last a few months, though.
Swim away with this Maidenform deal
Today (Saturday, August 11th) only, all swimsuits at Maidenform are an additional 25% off when you put them in your cart. They have some really cute stuff, not to mention that they do swim tops by bra size instead of by the one-size-fits-all S-M-L method. Love.
Then you can stack coupon code SCOOP15 on top for another 15% off, too. (Wait. Looks like if you use that code it messes up the 25% off. Proceed with caution if you’re buying a suit.) Shipping is free on your $75+ order, automatically—and that’s your total before the coupon, not after.
Now… I just have to decide if I’m too old for that black polka-dotted bikini, because I kind of love it.
Make it a Kohls kind of Friday
I don’t know where you are, obviously—that would be weird if I did, right?—but here in Georgia we’re having our annual tax-free weekend. Wooo! Starting today, we can do all of that back-to-school shopping for the next three days without paying any sales tax. Every penny counts, and all of that.
So needless to say, it’s a great time for me to shop Kohs, because on top of everything else, I get to save my tax money. Heh. And that “everything else” is pretty good, too: In addition to all the BTS sale stuff, everyone can save an extra 15% with coupon code HEATWAVE. Also, everyone gets free shipping on their $75+ order, automatically.
If you have a Kohls credit card, of course, you can really rack up the savings—coupon code NOTEBOOK30 saves you an additional 30% on your order, and coupon code MVCFREE4U gives you free shipping on any size order.
Time for me to go pick up the next few sizes of sneakers for my son. I swear he got up two inches taller, today.
10 pounds of “Good boy!”
I do not feed my dog Milk Bones, on account of she is a delicate princess with a delicate stomach. Also, she prefers popcorn. Did I mention the princess part? I think I may have. Ahem.
But if you have a dog who is 1) not a princess and 2) large, you may wish to avail yourself of this 10-pound box of large Milk Bone biscuits for just $9.84 at Amazon (free Prime shipping, or eligible for Super Saver Shipping on your $25+ order).
If you’re feeling particularly magnanimous, maybe you’d like to pick one up for your local shelter or rescue group, too. That’s a crazy good price.
Scoop up the sandal deals
You’ve only got through midnight tonight to shop the clearance sandals at Lord & Taylor and you’ll get an extra 75% off in your cart, automatically. Holy wow are there some awesome deals to be had if you have a penchant for high-end brands (think Coach, Anne Klein, etc.).
Don’t want/need sandals? Use coupon code STYLE for an extra 25% off other shoes, if you like. But the code won’t work on the sandals, because they’re already dirt cheap.
Happy shoe-ing!
Scrub-a-dub-dub, dress up your tub
Need a new shower curtain? It may not be the most exciting thing in the world, but who knew there were so many choices to be had? (Hint: Not me.) Today in the Target Daily Deals they’ve got about a billion (not really) shower curtains available on sale and with free shipping.
I’m thinking the tie-dye one for my kids’ bathroom. Maybe they’ll be so mesmerized, they’ll brush their teeth for twice as long. Or not.
Friends and Family time at Aero!
It’s the mooooost woooonderfuuuuul tiiiiiiime… etc. Okay, no one wants to hear me sing. But still, I get a little excited about the Friends and Family sale at Aeropostale, because you can take 30% off of just about everything, even clearance. (Just fragrances, cosmetics and gift cards are excluded.) Use coupon code AEROFRIEND12 at checkout to reap the savings, through August 12th.
What’s that you say? Your kids are little, so you want to shop P.S. instead? That’s fine; use coupon code PSFRIEND12 there for the same deal.
Shipping is a flat $7 on orders up to $250, at which point it jumps to $25; so I guess the moral of the story here is that if you’re placing a larger than $250 order, you should 1) break it into two orders and 2) adopt me.
How ’bout them Dawgs?
Maybe it’s because I live in Bulldog (or Bulldawg, as the locals say) country that I find this so amusing, but did you know there’s a Crocs knock-off called Dawgs? I didn’t, but they’re having a huge Dawgs sale today at Tanga—all styles are just $12.99 with free shipping! (For reference: That’s about half the cost at Amazon on most styles.)
They’re still, you know, plastic shoes… but the price is certainly right, and the kids’ ones are really cute.
Viva la Lands’ End
I suppose there may come a day when I can resist a sale at Lands’ End, but today is not that day. Heh. Today only (Wednesday, August 8th), shop the sale and clearance and then use coupon code AFF30CLX with PIN 1080 to save an additional 30%, plus if your order is $50+ you’ll get free shipping as well.
It’s a sale on the sale, which is my favorite kind of sale. Also, apparently, I just like to say the word “sale.” Sale!
