Not as exciting as shoes

I’d definitely rather be shopping for shoes than toilet paper, but sometimes you have to stick to the essentials.

Right now Amazon has this 24-pack of Quilted Northern Ultra Plush Double Rolls for just $12.94 (free shipping with Prime, or Super Saver Shipping eligible on your $25+ order). That’s, like, less than the cheap store-brand sandpaper price. And you don’t even have to lug it home.

And—of course—the money you save can be spent on shoes. Win-win.

Woot Woot!

That’s right, there goes the day—it’s a Woot-Off, with rotating deals for the next 24 hours or so popping up at Woot, Kids.Woot, Home.Woot, and even Wine.Woot (which is, sadly, often not even wine).

Stretch our your refresh finger and grab a cold beverage, because it’s going to be a Woot kind of day.

Stock up on all the stuff you forget about

I’m not the only person who goes to the grocery store and then comes home and remembers that I’m out of shaving cream and need to buy more Benadryl, right…? Right?? If you’re not a regular drugstore shopper, it can be easy to forget about all of those little essentials. Ahem.

Right now at Walgreens they’re offering an extra 15% off just about everything when you use coupon code JULY15. It even works on top of sale prices! And shipping is always free on $25+, so depending on what you need, this could be an easy way to stock up.

I see they have that new Sally Hansen magnetic nail polish on sale. Has anyone actually tried that? It freaks me out a little, honestly, but it looks kind of cool….

And a little Star Wars for the rich folks

Personally, I find the previous post’s deal—a great Star Wars book for $2—just my speed, but I know that some die-hard Star Wars folks are willing to spend quite a bit more money to feed their addictions.

This deal is for those suckers folks!

Today in the Target Daily Deals, they have the LEGO Star Wars Imperial Shuttle for $250 (with free shipping, because it’s a daily deal). This isn’t a huge discount, granted, but as a new set even this $10 discount is unusual. But the real deal here is that if you buy the Imperial Shuttle today on this deal, they’ll also throw in a free T-6 Jedi Shuttle, which is a $50 set on its own. Just add the Imperial Shuttle to your cart, and the Jedi Shuttle gets added automatically as a freebie.

The big set has over 2,000 pieces and the bonus set has almost 400. Part of me dreams of the time it would occupy my kid to put these together. Then the rational part of me remembers that, hey, it’s still $250 I’d be spending on plastic bricks. So, yeah. To each their own! It’s a decent deal if your kind of thing.

Keep the whole family entertained

Oh, Amazon is totally playing my song this morning. It’s a beautiful thing.

For those of you who haven’t nabbed it one of the previous times it appeared at this price, today’s Gold Box Deal is the Mel Brooks Collection on Blu-ray for $29. That’s a little over $3/movie for some of the greatest titles out there.

And if you have kiddos who are too young for proper Mel Brooks appreciation, don’t fret, Amazon’s got something awesome for them, too—right now they have the Star Wars: The Phantom Menace: The Expanded Visual Dictionary available in hardcover for just $2! That’s craziness. Those would be a sweet party favor instead of the typical bag-o-junk, if you were doing a Star Wars party. I have no idea why the price is so low, but this is a smoking deal.

Now, if you have the kind of kiddo who will sit and watch Blazing Saddles with you while thumbing through the Star Wars Dictionary? You’ve got it all. (I have one of those kids. He is awesome.)

It’s the Anniversary Sale at Nordstrom

Ordinarily the prices at Nordstrom make me do that involuntary high-pitched, slightly-hysterical laugh thing (“They want how much for a tank top…?”), but during the anniversary sale, sometimes it’s worth wading amongst the haute couture to find some bargains.

This, of course, is that time.

Also, they’ve done a smart thing with their online site—shipping and returns are free, on all orders. That certainly sweetens the deal, no?

Make it a very Vera Friday

Been pining after something over at Vera Bradley? Today may be the day to splurge—you can use coupon code VBPREP to take $20 off your $75+ purchase, plus shipping on your $100+ order (pre-coupon total) is free.

There’s tons of items already marked down in the sale section, and the coupon works on those, as well. Play it right and you could make yourself a really sweet deal.

A week without Kohls is like…

… a day without sunshine? A cheeseburger without cheese? A new outfit without pretty shoes? The possibilities are endless, and all of them are bad. I’m overdue for a Kohls fix, for sure.

So! Get on over there. Through July 22nd, everyone can redeem their Kohls Cash from the last earning period, plus every order of $75+ ships for free, automatically. If you have a Kohls charge card, use coupon code TOWEL30 for an extra 30% off your order and code MVCFREE4ME for free shipping on any size order. No Kohls card? No problem—you can still use code SUMMERFUN for an extra 15% off.

Everything’s on sale, of course, because this is Kohls, after all. I’m digging the $12.99 discontinued bra sale, myself. Between that and the coupons, it’s a great time to stock up.

Get your Soft on (for less)

If you adore Soft Clothing for your kids—and who wouldn’t, because their stuff is both adorable and impossibly comfortable—be sure to check out the new Soft For Girls boutique that just went live at MYHABIT. It’s a great way to pick up a few adorable pieces on the cheap (up tro 80% off), plus shipping at MYHABIT is always included.

Looks like there was a Soft For Boys boutique a couple of days ago, too, and some items still available there.

If you have a sensory-sensitive kid, Soft is the gold standard for affordable but non-itchy clothing. I am only a little bit bitter that they don’t (yet?) make teen sizes.

Make your teen happy

There’s a 30% off sale going on right now over at Aeropostale; just use coupon code BTS30 to take 30% off just about everything other than clearance and fragrances.

Now, ordinarily I’m going to grump about clearance not being eligible, but there’s plenty of stuff already on sale that does qualify for further discount. If you need uniform clothes, for example, it’s not going to get a lot cheaper than this—short-sleeve polo shirts are just $7.50 after coupon.

Of course, I would also like to know why the Aero brand is like crack to every teenager I know. Or maybe I don’t want to know. Tough call.
