The Gold Box is on Fire
Been jonesing for a Kindle Fire, but not so jazzed about the price? Check out today’s Gold Box Deal—they’ve got certified refurbished Kindle Fires for just $139 shipped.
This is a great way to score a like-new unit at a discount price, and the warranty means there’s no risk, unlike buying a used unit off of eBay or whatever.
All in all, it’s not a bad deal to start off your Thursday. (It is Thursday, right? I need more coffee.)
Happy birthday, Disney Store!
Can you believe that Disney Store is celebrating its 25th anniversary today? Those crazy kids don’t look a day over 18.
To celebrate, they’re offering 25% off nearly everything with coupon code HAPPY25, but it’s good today (March 28th, 2012) only. That’s stackable with coupon code SHIPTODAY for free shipping on your $75+ order, too.
I always think it’s nice when someone celebrates a milestone with a present for someone else. Thanks, Disney!
More Easter goodies
If you didn’t get everything you needed yesterday, here’s another shot: Go shop Oriental Trading for various Easter goodies—including great prices on candy—and any size order ships for free. Just use coupon code FREEFW52! Spend $59+ and you’ll also get a $10 gift card for a future purchase.
Did you know they make little Reese’s peanut butter eggs? I didn’t. I may be in trouble.
Call the Easter Bunny
I received a really sweet email about a week ago from the lovely Elizabeth (a regular reader), who wanted me to know that she has nothing for Easter baskets. (To be fair, she also said “no pressure” and was very sweet about it.) I keep planning out the triumphant “Everything’s back to normal! Want Not shall now resume its regular programming!” post, but… it hasn’t happened, yet. I’m sorry for that. And believe you me, there is no one looking forward to the Return To Normal more than I am. Until then, thank you for bearing with the light posting and scatteredness that is currently my world.
But! I can help Elizabeth (and you) with the Easter basket issue. Right now Terry’s Village is having a huge Easter Sale, with plenty of cute things for baskets. To make it even better, you can use coupon code FREEMAR1 for free shipping on any order! Load up on the cheap, er, I mean, let the Bunny know. I’m sure he’ll appreciate it.
Make their summer
How big of a hero would you be to your kids if you scored this waffle cone maker from Amazon right now at half price? Personally, I am far too lazy (and mean! don’t forget mean!) to futz with making my own cones for my children, but for $25 it could bring a lot of joy if you’re into that sort of thing, and nicer than I am.
And now I want ice cream.
Keep ’em pearly white
If you’re still in the market for a toothbrush upgrade, take a look at today’s Target Daily Deals—they’ve got a Sonicare Essence for $34.99 with free shipping. This is half off their regular price.
The problem with comparing the price is that this packaging is a “Target Exclusive,” which means this exact item isn’t available elsewhere for comparison. But! Amazon has the Essence 5300 currently available for $50, and it looks to me like the Target offering is the 5300 with the addition of a “quadpacer” (a handy timer that tells you how long to spend brushing each quadrant of your mouth).
The bottom line is that it’s $35 for a highly-rated Sonicare toothbrush, so I’m thinking it’s a pretty good deal.
The Hunger Games and more
Did you go see The Hunger Games this weekend? I’ll admit it, I can’t remember the last movie I saw in the theater, but I took the “Mooooom, can you Fandango tickets for us and drive us to the theater??” begging as my chance to sneak in and see it, all in the name of chaperoning, of course. It was rather awesome.
If your kid (or you; I don’t judge) is now jonesing for Hunger Games-themed apparel and other items, you should definitely check out the options over at CafePress; they have an entire Hunger Games store filled with items to delight even the most die-hard fans. Better still, right now you can use coupon code AFF30 for 30% off your purchase, effectively making overpriced licensed merchandise a bit easier to overpay for. Heh.
(Though I have to say, all of the “I heart Peeta” and other Twilight-esque attempts to turn it into “which boy do you like” don’t really do it for me. I’m liking the various “May the odds be ever in your favor” options.)
27 episodes of nerdery
If you remember the Dungeons & Dragons cartoon from your youth, congratulations! You are old and also a complete nerd. Like me.
If you plan to indoctrinate your children relive your youth indulge in the geektastic magic once more, well, today’s the day to hoof it over to Amazon—they have a DVD set of the entire D & D animated series available today for just $6. That’s the cheapest it’s ever been, and if you could put a price on over 10 hours of geekery, I’m guessing it would be more than that.
But maybe I’m just speaking as the mom to a kid who prizes his dice collection. Heh.
Shop the trio, save big
This sale came just in time, because just this week I finally broke down and got out the kids’ shorts, and wouldn’t you know it? It’s so weird—everything seems to have mysteriously shrunk over the winter. I know it cannot be that my children have gotten even bigger because I expressly forbid them to do that. Whatever; they need new shorts.
And this weekend, I can shop Gap and Old Navy for them, and maybe even Banana Republic for me, and not only can I take advantage of that shared shopping basket, I can use coupon code SPRINGSAVE to save 25% on any order, or 30% on my $100+ order. Shipping is free on $50+, automatically.
So I guess I’ll go buy them some new shorts. But does anyone know where I can find some anti-shrink storage for when summer’s over…?
Minty!
Got gum? Amazon does—in fact, they have 24 packs of Eclipse gum available right now for $7.20 shipped if you have Prime. That’s just $.30/pack!
My kids are gum fiends. Maybe their Easter baskets will be full of Eclipse, this year.
