Pixi perfect
Today’s Target Daily Deals are all half-price Pixi kits, from eyeshadow to nail polish. Either of the available nail polish sets—with 3 polishes for $10—would be great stocking stuffers for your tween or teen who’s always stealing your polish.
Not that that ever happens ’round here, or anything. Ahem.
(Remember, all daily deals ship for free!)
Ohhhhh Noooooooooo!
Sorry for being largely absent today; sometimes real life has to take precedence (pesky real life). You know I’d rather be here with you, right?
So, um, Amazon has this Plush Mr. Bill Dog Toy available for $6 shipped with Prime (look in the right-hand “more buying choices” column for the deal).
Is $6 the best price ever for a dog toy? Probably not.
Am I going to buy one for Licorice for Christmas, anyway, because it shrieks, “Ohhhhhh nooooo!” when squeezed? You betcha.
Heads up, Jedis!
Amazon currently has The Jedi Path: A Manual for Students of the Force (Vault Edition) set on Lightning Deal for just $39.99, about $10 cheaper than you can find it used and about $25 off what it’s been listed at recently.
It won’t last long, but if you have a Star Wars nut on your list, check it out.
On the second day of video game deals…
… Amazon gave to meeeeeeee… Deals on “action games” and accessories!
I worried this might be all shoot-’em-ups, which our family doesn’t go for, but there’s a pretty good variety of choices, including the well-reviewed and highly-touted Bit.Trip Complete for Wii at just $25 (it’s still $40 everywhere else).
They have games for all platforms, plus deals on accessories like headsets and controllers. It’s a good day to be a gamer.
It’s the day to save at Macy’s
If you’re a regular shopper at Macy’s, you know that—although they have coupons all the time—most coupons have a list of exclusions a mile long. If you’ve been wanting, say, a North Face jacket or a designer watch, chances are the various coupon du jours have always excluded the item you have your eye on.
Well, today’s your day: It’s the beginning of the Macy’s Friends & Family sale, and coupon code MACYSFF will take 25% off most everything (10% off electronics, mattresses, rugs, and furniture). You have until December 5th to shop and score a discount on all the things that usually give you that maddening “The item in your cart is excluded from coupon savings” message.
Enjoy!
Nothing but (miniature) net
Honestly, I’m not sure what to say about the fact that I live in a world where a miniature basketball hoop has 159 reviews on Amazon (most of them glowing). I apparently just do not understand how important it is that your mini indoor hoop look just like the real thing, or have a regulation (to scale, anyway) shatter-proof backboard and breakaway rim.
All I know is that it’s currently right around $20, which is just about the lowest price they’ve ever had it, and that’s a good 35% cheaper than anywhere else. Use it indoors or out, or even in your pool (if the action-packed video there is to be believed.)
(Perhaps I should get one for my little nerdlings to throw their 20-sided dice at…?)
Save money on dry-cleaning?
Apparently Lowes has started doing a Deal of the Day; there’s a bright red link to it from the upper right corner of their home page. Today’s deal is a Whirlpool “Fabric Refresher,” which looks a little bit like the Jetson’s shower stall, frankly.
The reviews are very positive, and it’s marked down to $79 from $199. Supposedly this will clean/dewrinkle your clothes to where you would require fewer trips to the dry cleaners. It sounds good, but… I don’t know. I’m a little skeptical. Anyone own one of these? I’m curious about it.
‘Tis the season for video game deals
Amazon’s doing 19 Days of Video Game Deals, starting today. First up: Today’s deals are all on Disney games, up to half off. That means, for example, that Toy Story Mania is just $10.
Worth taking a look, especially if you have a new Wii or DS that’ll be under the tree and needing some games.
Kitchen fun for the boys!
A short rant: It drives me crazy that 99% of the play kitchens in the world are still pink. It’s 2011, people! Boys like to cook, too! In fact, my own boychild is more at home in the kitchen than his sister. And while I had no problem with him playing kitchen amidst pink things, as a little kid, it would’ve been nice to have options. I’m just sayin’.
Today Meijer earns mad props from me for having both a great deal and a kitchen in blue! Check out this Maxim Cooking Creations Kitchen they have—it’s currently just $57.99 and it comes with a free set of stainless steel play cookware, too!
For reference: Amazon has the same kitchen for $98 and the free cookware for $25.
Ship any order for free with coupon code SHIPSFREE. This one will sell out quickly, so I’d hop on it if you’re interested.
For your LEGO Star Wars fanatic
If every story in your house starts and ends with LEGO Yoda (not that I am admitting to anything that happens here…), you’re going to want to grab the LEGO Star Wars Character Encyclopedia from Amazon while it’s under $10 (and the cheapest it’s ever been). It’s the canonical reference manual for all things LEGO Star Wars, and sure to please any kid who’s a bit obsessive about these things. And it comes with a bonus Hans Solo minifig, too.
Bonus: I think it’s heavy enough that you might be able to bludgeon yourself into unconsciousness with it when you simply can’t bear to listen any longer to whatever the current story about the stormtroopers is.
