I remember when they didn’t have color

I’m old enough to remember when White House Black Market actually only sold clothes in black and white. My first reaction was “… the heck??” and that rapidly gave way to “Oh, but this stuff is really nice!” Nowadays they sell all sorts of colors and patterns, but I still get a giggle remembering how “innovative” it seemed, back in the day.

Anyway! Right now they’re offering an additional 50% off select clearance items (they’re all clearly marked) when you apply coupon code 63679. If you’ve never shopped there before, I can assure you their clothes are insanely well-made and a bargain at these reduced prices. I only own a few pieces but they’ve held up for many years.

Shipping is a flat $5.95 or you can join their rewards program for free and get free shipping.

I remain a sucker for all things LEGO

Did I love LEGO as a child? I did. Did my children love LEGO when they were small? Of course. Did my son continue requesting ever-larger and more complicated LEGO sets well into the double digits? He did. And do we partake in every LEGO theatrical release with something akin to reverence? You know it.

So: Did I love the LEGO Batman movie? I giggled like a maniac through the whole thing, and I’m not even going to apologize. Will I go ahead and purchase The LEGO Batman Movie as a digital HD film at Amazon for just $2.49 (when I have a ton of digital credit in my account thanks to opting for no-rush shipping most of the time)? Let’s just say I am really looking forward to the next long car or plane trip with my (grown) kids. (“Are you trying to tell me that Bruce Wayne is Batman…’s roommate?”)

Go get it before they jack up the price. If you have a sense of humor I promise you’ll be glad you did.

Sure, I have some questions

Look, I’m not saying that this Igloo 5-quart cooler at Amazon isn’t a great deal, because at $9.67 shipped (if you have Prime), it absolutely is. It’s normally around $20, so obviously it’s a great deal if you’re in need of a cooler like this.

I do have a few questions, though:

1) Why—when this is a lunch-box-sized cooler, around the right size to hold a 6-pack of soda—do all of the product pictures somehow make it look like a party-size cooler? Not cool.
2) Why are all of the product pictures captioned in… hmmm… is it Japanese?
3) What do those captions say? Do they say, “Hahaha, this cooler is a lot smaller than it looks!” or what?

It’s a deal worth checking out, but I’m just saying I’m a little confused, is all.

Got Ts? Go get ’em!

If you love Threadless like we love Threadless, get on over there today (Tuesday, October 3rd)—nearly every t-shirt is just $10, today only.

They’ve got nerdy shirts, snarky shirts, pretty shirts, political shirts… they’ve got it all, really. My kids each have dozens of shirts and yet, I can never pass by this sale. It’s possible we have a problem. It’s also possible I don’t care.

New month, new Beauty Box!

A new month means a new Beauty Box at Target, and the October Beauty Box is not only chock-full of goodies (just like its predecessors), it also contains a $3 off your $15+ Beauty purchase coupon to use later this month.

It seemed like summer lasted forever and then *boom* now it’s suddenly October. A little box of beauty goodies for just $7 delivered might help ease the sting, a bit.

If only the name-brand will do…

… I have an Instant Pot deal for you today!

(Look, I know there was a recent deal on a different brand, and in some—not very many—things I am a brand loyalist, so I don’t judge either way. Myself, I have not hopped on the pressure cooker bandwagon yet, so I have no opinion. You do you.)

Today one of Amazon’s Daily Deals is 30% off this Instant Pot DUO60 6 Qt 7-in-1 Multi-Use Programmable Pressure Cooker, bringing it down from $100 to $70 for one day only. It slices! It dices! It makes perfect julienned fries! Oh, wait. No it doesn’t. But it does do all sorts of stuff, and if you’re in the market, this may be the deal you’ve been wanting.

Like I said, I don’t quite grasp the attraction just yet, but I own five slow cookers, so again: I don’t judge.

Scoot over to Schoola

If there’s anything I like better than scoring some crazy deals at my local thrift stores, it’s definitely finding the same sorts of deals online so that I don’t even have to get dressed first. Today and tomorrow, shop Schoola and you can save even more—use coupon code COZY70 to take 70% off your purchase of pre-owned clothes for the whole family (coupon will not work on “new with tags” items). You can use the coupon on more than one order, looks like, although you need to get on it (it expires September 29th).

I will shamelessly admit to shopping for myself, there, more than for the kids, but in addition to everything else they offer, they used to be my favorite destination for “oh my gosh I need a prom/homecoming/fancy occasion dress, Mom!” emergencies. Why pay hundreds of dollars when you can go cheap and no one will ever know you didn’t buy it new?

Shipping is free on your $25+ post-discount order of up to 10 items. Go forth and score.

40% off for Friends and Family, today only

Do I ever pay full price at Lands’ End? Of course not, although it’s probably worth it. There’s always a sale or code to be had, and that’s when I swoop in.

Gone are the days when I needed to pick up new Squall jackets every season (Welcome to Georgia! Motto: Winter here is like spring everywhere else!), but they still have plenty of goodies I love. Somehow I almost missed their Friends & Family event this year, but they’ve extended it for one more day, which means you have all of today (Wednesday, September 27th) to stock up for winter or whatever. (Note: the code does not work on Sale/Clearance items, this time ’round. Sad trombone.)

Note: The code that’s showing on the site is good for only 30% off. This one will get you 40% off, so save even more and feel superior. Use code BUDDIES with PIN 6433. Shipping is free on your $50+ order, and remember you can still make free in-person returns at a local Sears store. (This is me not telling you to order extra just to get free shipping and then return the overage locally, this is just me mentioning that little factoid so that you may draw your own conclusions. Obviously.)

Soup it up

Okay, let’s pretend I’ve included my standard disclaimer here about homemade food and how much better it is than the premade stuff. I know! And you know. And sometimes it’s still more convenient to have soup in a microwaveable container for the dorm/office/days when you have lost the will to cook. I’m just sayin’.

This may be limited to Prime members, but right now Amazon has 8-packs of Campbell’s Chunky New England Clam Chowder and Campbell’s Chunky Sirloin Burger with Country Vegetables Soup available for $8.81 and $10, respectively, which is a pretty good price, already. A take-and-microwave lunch for around a buck? Not bad.

Both are available on Subscribe & Save, which means they can drop to as low as $7.49 and $10 each when you have 5+ items in your monthly delivery.

Soup and beverages are some of my favorite things to buy on Subscribe & Save because I feel like the free shipping alone on these heavy items is yielding a great deal. And to have a flat of easy meals hanging around? Well, that’s priceless.
