Hey ho, Friday
It’s Friday, all day, and I am pleased to report that my kid who’s been to school about three days total since before the holidays is back at school and finally healthy again. If I could have you all over to my place for a party, I would. (Probably just as well; I’d likely have banners and cocktail toothpicks in the shape of tonsils and adenoids, and that’d be creepy.)
Let’s go shopping, instead!
I propose that Amazon rename the Friday Sale to the Coffee And Other Beverages Sale. We’ll see if it catches on. If you’re a Plum Organics fan, though, they have the Peach Mish Mash and Banana Mish Mash pouches available for $13 for 15 pouches, plus free 2-day shipping (also this will extend your Amazon Mom Prime trial if you buy $25+ worth). As always, yes, buying and mashing your own fruit is cheaper, but this is a great price on an organic pre-packaged product.
Also don’t forget that a new month means a new crop of $5 MP3 albums! This is a great way to bulk up your music collection on the cheap! And finally, the extra 40% off clearance clothing event is still going on, too.
Feeling fancy? Shop Ann Taylor LOFT today and enjoy an extra 60% off sale items, no coupon needed! If you’re shopping non-sale items, use coupon code SAVEA to save $20 on $75+ or $50 on $150+, or if there’s just one big-ticket item you’re dying to have that hasn’t gone on sale yet, use code SAVINGS30 for 30% off just the one thing.
Winter jackets are 75% off at 6pm.com today, along with today’s other featured sales. Darn if that cheaper shipping until Valentine’s Day isn’t making it a lot easier for me to justify ordering, too. Heh.
There’s a final clearance blowout (with items as low as $2.99) over at Children’s Place this weekend, and the more you spend, the more you’ll save—use coupon code C3D2011 for 15% off any purchase, D3D2011 for 20% off your $40+ purchase, or E3D2011 for 25% off your $50+ purchase.
Finally, there’s some crazy good deals right now over at Avon in the Outlet. Spend $30+ and get free shipping with coupon code Savings30.
Go forth and enjoy this glorious Friday! I know I will.
Fun for them, more Prime for you
Are you still rocking your Amazon Mom free Prime subscription? I am, and I’ve become totally spoiled. And my subscription is about to end, too. Alas!
Remember, each qualifying “baby” purchase of $25+ extends your Prime subscription by another month. And it just so happens that the newly-discounted Fisher Price Imaginext Sky Racers Carrier works towards extending your Mom Prime. It’s down to just $18.74, which means you only need another $6.26 worth of “baby” stuff to get another month of free Prime!
In case you don’t remember, we were all excited before Christmas when this dropped to $25. Under $19 is a steal for this set (and the lowest it’s ever been on Amazon)—it’s really big and has lots of different ways to play with it.
Book it over to Groupon
Two Groupons in one day? Is this heaven? No, it’s just a really good Thursday. Yes.
Just released: A national Groupon deal for Barnes and Noble! $10 gets you $20 worth either online or in store. Load up that Nook you got for Christmas, or whatever you want.
Groupon should totally change their name to FreeMoney.
Something pretty for you?
I love it when they do this—despite Amazon having immediately sold out two deals I posted earlier, I choose to believe the third time’s the charm, today. Ahem.
So: Right now Amazon is offering 40% off already-clearanced clothing with coupon code FORTYOFF. This is a great way to pick up a thing or two at a crazy price. I already see plenty of winterwear for the kids at great prices, for example.
Don’t forget that Amazon offers free shipping and free returns on most of their direct-from-them clothing, now, so it’s relatively risk-free.
Oh, Scharffen Berger!
Sorry about the magical disappearing cereal deal; the problem with many of the Amazon grocery specials is that they’re truly cases of “don’t blink or you’ll miss it.”
Get on this one quick, if you’re interested: Right now Amazon has 24-packs of Scharffen Berger 3 oz. Semisweet or Nibby Dark chocolate bars for just $19.46 shipped, each. (Two-day shipping is free, though these aren’t expected to ship until February 6th.) That’s about $.81/bar, on something that retails for about $5/bar.
And that’s not even getting into how Scharffen Berger has really, really ruined me for other baking chocolate. Darn you, Scharffen Berger!!
Perfect for Valentine’s Day
Hey, did you happen to notice that there’s free shipping at The Body Shop today and tomorrow (February 3rd and 4th), no code necessary? And on top of that, they have an assortment of internet-only gift sets at half off. I was just looking at them and the “Divine Calm Book of Massage” for just $7.50 shipped looks perfect for me my sweetie. Heh.
Of course, I don’t need a holiday to want to smell good, anyway. Wait. That… sounded less creepy in my head.
It’s back, and still cinnamon-y!
If you missed this one the last time it came around: Right now Amazon is offering a 6-pack of 15-ounce Cinnamon Life boxes for just $9.67 shipped when you buy via Subscribe & Save.
While it’s true that I am running out of places to put all the cereal I’ve been buying recently, it’s also true that one of my kids has been eating Cinnamon Life every day since the first case arrived. Heh.
You’re welcome
Naturally, my daughter outgrew her beloved Converse sneakers and I hemmed and hawed about replacing them (because, after all, she’s just entered the “I will wear these ugly boots no matter the temperature outside” phase of life), and then yesterday I finally broke down and ordered her a new pair.
Which is doubtless why today at 6pm.com Converse are on sale. The things I do for you.
Denim’s still on sale, as are Oakley sunglasses, Case Logic bags, and a bunch of other shoes. Don’t forget that shipping’s been dropped to just $2.95 through Valentine’s Day, too.
International goodies at half price
I’ve run a couple of contests here for gift certificates to NOVICA, because I want one of everything they sell. Not only are they part of the National Geographic family and everything they sell is Fair Trade, they offer gorgeous jewelry, clothing, and housewares you can’t find anywhere else. Love them! And I’m always sad when I only have one prize and we have hundreds of entries.
But this is easing my pain a little: Today there’s a NOVICA Groupon, available through Los Angeles but available to everyone (every course). Spend $30 and get a $60 certificate, and then you, too, can spend an endless amount of time trying to decide what to buy.
(For whatever it’s worth, the last time I shopped there, I bought martini glasses. I have never had or served a martini here at home. It’s just… they were so pretty! They look great in my china cabinet. Maybe I’ll pour some milk in them for the kids this morning….)
Something fishy (in a good way)
Many thanks to pretty reader Elizabeth for letting me know that Amazon is running another Bar Harbor special, with an extra 30% off product when you use 15% off coupon BARHAR67 and combine that with the 15% Subscribe & Save discount (which also gets you free shipping).
If you’re happy with condensed soups that cost $.50/can, this is not the deal for you. But if you want the best clam chowder or crab bisque you’ve ever had from a can, this is worth checking out. Bar Harbor soups retail for around $5/can at the supermarket; on this deal, it comes to around $2/can. (Gluten-free friends: this soup is not gluten-free, alas. I have fond memories of it, from my pre-GF days.)
They have sauces and tinned fish and stuff, too. I just really like clam chowder.
