Hey, it’s Kohlsday
I’ve decided to change Wednesday’s official name to Kohlsday. Do you think anyone will notice? (Related: At the conference this weekend, I may have used the phrase, “Those of us who like to worship at the altar of Kohls.” A lightning bolt did not come out of the sky and strike me for saying that, but I’m pretty sure I heard thunder.)
Listen, you know the drill: It’s Wednesday, which means the big sales are on at Kohls. Today is the last day to use coupon code FREE2MVC for free shipping on any order with your Kohls card, and coupon code EXTRA20 saves everyone (I think) 20%. Shipping is currently free on $75+, automatically.
I’m not saying you have to shop there, I’m just saying that for me there is very little that can be wrong on a Wednesday that a little bit of Kohls shopping can’t fix.

I know I’m not supposed to be shopping for me right now, but if I post it here for you, it’s, um, like a public service, or something. Yeah, that’s it.
Anyway, it’s Friends and Family time at Ann Taylor Loft, from now until November 21st, use coupon code FRIENDSAF to save 30% on your purchase and get free shipping on your $100+ order. It even works on sale items—I checked.

Truckin’ goes green with Sprig
I remember this deal from last year, and I still love it so, so much. Get the Sprig Toys Eco Recycling Truck at Amazon right now for just $8.13. This is a sizable toy, made with recycled, eco-friendly materials, and teaches your kid to… love recycling!
Based on what I’m seeing today, I’m beginning to wonder if Amazon is going to start their toy clearancing in earnest, this year. This is a very good sign.
A very Peanuts Christmas
Lovely Want Not reader Linda wrote in to report that this A Very Peanuts Christmas pillow book is currently marked down to $10 at Target and she’d ordered one as a “test.” Her report:
The outside of the pillow is Velvet-y and snuggly and I have no idea what the pages are made of, but it’s kind of like material but.. I have no idea what I’d call it cause there is a sturdy-ness to the pages… odd. lol So everyone get to buying and enjoy!
She says she’s going back for more, some for Toys For Tots. Not a bad item at all for ten bucks! Thanks for sharing, Linda!
Ski your balance board
So now that we’ve told the Wii newbies what to get (both how to get the best Wii deal and what Wii stuff to buy), how about a deal for those of you who are already Wii veterans?
Right now Amazon has Wii Ski for just $10 and free shipping for everyone. If you have a Wii and a balance board (and a modicum of coordination; I, sadly, do not), this might be a nice one to pick up.
Wii deals this season?
The lovely Kim writes:
“Wii” do need your help! For the past 3 years, my husband and I have contemplated getting a Wii for our kids for Christmas. Each year, we talk ourselves out of it. Well, this year we have decided to go for it. With the economy in the tank, and my husband working reduced hours, we figured we would get the kids one gift they would absolutely love. We are obviously looking for the most bang for our buck. Outside of risking my life at the black Friday sales, where do you recommend we look for a system on sale or a decent bundle? I send along my pre-Christmas thank yous from my boys!
Before I get into Wii-specific stuff, let me remind Kim (and the rest of you) that you can take advantage of all kinds of Black Friday deals online, of course. I’ll be here all day on Black Friday, monitoring the deals and posting, so anyone who—like me—would rather stick a fork in their eyeball than step foot in a store on Black Friday can still reap the benefits. read more…
