Post-holiday GPS deals
Maybe Santa brought you a little cash. Why not; I’m sure you were very good this year, after all. And maybe all you really wanted for Christmas this year was your two front teeth a GPS unit for your car. Here’s two great options if you’re still deciding:
The TomTom XL 330-S is currently $95 shipped at Amazon, which is about $80 cheaper than I see it anywhere else. It has text-to-speech and just about all of the bells and whistles you might want. Unless…
… you want one that also has live traffic updates, in which case you can snag yourself a top-of-the-line Garmin Nuvi 285W for $135, instead (thanks, Chak!). This one has everything the TomTom has, plus live traffic updates. (Do bear in mind that those traffic updates are only available in metropolitan areas, of course.)
These are both great units, but if you get the traffic enabled one be sure to let me know so that I can properly exercise my jealousy.
Merry Saturday deals
Goooood morning! I hope you and yours had a wonderful holiday and a couple of days to relax and unwind. I took an entire day off (didn’t even check my email!) and it was divine. Ahhhhh.
If you’re ready to shop the post-holiday sales, well, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
The Twice-Yearly Sale at Disney Store is in full swing, with their lowest discounts of the season.
And of course Hanna Andersson’s Twice-Yearly Sale is still going on, too, and maybe an elf left a few extra bucks in your stocking for a little look-see over there.
In the meantime, the deals continue at Amazon, only now they’re calling them the Year-End Lightning Deals instead of holiday lightning deals. Whatever. No matter what you call them, it’s still extra lightning deals every day. There’s also a Panasonic VIERA HDTV in the Amazon Gold Box today, and our big family gift this year was a VIERA flat-screen and I have to tell you—it pretty much rocks my socks off.
The fine folks at Overstock.com suggest you party like it’s 2010 with their year-end clearance, just in case you feel like getting a jump on the new year.
Picking up something at Lands’ End? Use coupon code DEC31 with PIN 7087 for free shipping on your order, regardless of size.
If it’s electronics you crave, check out the 2-Day Online-Only Sale at Best Buy for some deep discounts on technology toys.
Scope out the post-holiday markdowns at Kohls over the next few days and everyone can use coupon code YOURGIFT15 for 15% off your order, whether you have a Kohls charge card or not. Shipping is free on your $75+ order, plus I believe code NOCHARGE is still working for free shipping if you have a Kohls charge.
And yes, I know, I still haven’t announced the contest winners. I will today. Pinky swear! But right now, there’s some leftover apple crisp calling my name….
Merry merry!
Happy Christmas Eve Day to one and all! (See, you don’t have to celebrate Christmas for that, even. Just wishing you a happy day.)
I plan to spend most of today running around like a chicken with my head cut off, but I’ll try to hop in with a few things during the day as time allows. Like, I’ll need to pick the contest winners, so that will happen later on.
In the meantime, maybe you’d like to grab a free movie from Amazon? They’ve got a few seasonal films like Scrooge and March of the Wooden Soldiers at no charge. (Along with that perennial holiday favorite, Plan 9 from Outer Space. Um. What?)
Of course, I have no need of those movies. My family will be watching A Christmas Story tonight, the way Jesus intended. (You’ll shoot your eye out, kid.)
Charge on the go
Need to charge that shiny new iPod on the go? Might want to check out today’s daily deals at Target—there’s an Energizer iPod charger (pretty sure it would work for an iPhone as well) for $10 shipped.
Too bad it’s too late to get one as a stocking stuffer. But there’s always Valentine’s Day. (“I love you! Keep your tunes handy!”)
And Amazon to the rescue once more
That $4 Prime shipping upgrade is handy, but Amazon’s going to go one better for those of you out there in need of a little holiday bling: They’ve got over 2,000 pieces of jewelry currently an extra 30% off at checkout with free 1-day shipping.
(Ladies, might want to pop that page up on your husband’s computer. Just in case.)
Last chance to avoid the store!
You do realize that it’s your last day to shop online in time for Christmas, right? I mean, you could do the shop-in-person thing tomorrow, exchanging furtive glances of shame with the other last minute shoppers inbetween being bumped and shoved around in the crowded aisles, but why would you?
If you availed yourself of that Amazon Prime trial we’re all so enjoying right now, it’s just $3.99 for one-day shipping, which is a real bargain right now if you consider the alternative. I’m just saying.
And if it’s kid gifts you need, well, there’s still plenty of options. There’s the Lightning Deals in Toys and Games I’ll be watching all day (that game coming up in about 10 minutes looks like something we may need to have…), as well as a slew of sale items all over the place. And as much as I hate it when stores do a gender division for their toys, well, I’ll overlook it for these bargains: Browse the 70% off Toys for Boys or 70% off Toys for Girls to find some deals.
Remember, thanks to Amazon’s schizophrenic pricing practices, some of those items won’t even be close to 70% off, and some will be even more deeply discounted. Lucky of the draw! But there’s plenty of great bargains to be had in there.
And you cannot put a price on not having to hit the mall tomorrow. Trust me on this one.
You were very good this year
Let’s face it; you’re probably all done shopping, now. I mean, hopefully you are. I wouldn’t wish a big box store on my worst enemy, today or tomorrow. You took care of everyone else, because that’s the awesome sort of person you are.
Now, if you need a little something for yourself, now’s a great time to sneak over to Coldwater Creek; you won’t get it in time for Christmas, of course, but you have a few days to shop there and take 50% off your purchase with coupon code AFL9489. It works in the Outlet, too.
If you need to wait until after the holiday, that’s fine—code is valid under December 28th, 2009. (Just in case Santa sticks a little mad money in your stocking.)
I’ve moved on to Easter
(You think I’m kidding. Turns out, I’m not.)
Perhaps you’d like to… go fly a kite? I’ve never seen anything like these before, and I’m smitten.
Biplane Bernie Kite for $14 (52% off)
Go Fly a Kite Plane for $8.40 (70% off)
Skyhawk Copter Kite for $8.40 (52% off)
(I’ll stop soon. Really. Probably. I mean, eventually.)
Just a few more stocking stuffers
Or maybe for the gift closet? Either way. Cute dice games for sport enthusiasts!
Go500 Racing Car Dice Game for $4
GoLong Football Dice Game for $4
GoHoops Basketball Dice Game for $4
GOLO Golf Dice Game for $5
Yes, yes I am sucking every last penny’s worth out of my free Prime trial before it expires….
I’m still watching
Why yes, I can’t stop watching the Amazon Toy Lightning Deals, no matter how many times I swear I’m going to.
There’s a Green Toys tea set (made from recycled milk bottles!) coming up in just a few minutes. Mine are too old for a tea set (boo!) but this is a great item for the toddler set.
