When I married my husband I gained 24/7 access to my best friend, a nice guy, and a good cook. I also gained access to more photography equipment than I’d seen in my entire previous life, and it allowed me to move up in my photography dabbling a bit without having to spend any money. As we all know, free is my favorite price.
Nowadays, I still use my little point-and-shoot Canon to tuck in my purse, but when I’m hanging around the house and want to get some shots out in the garden or whatever, I grab my husband’s Nikon D200. It’s a very nice camera. I sort of love it.
This is not the sort of camera you’d buy on a whim; this is a professional body for someone who wants to do serious photography. There’s tons of great deals today at 6pm.com, too many to list, really. The Simple shoes for $14.95 caught my eye, though, because I loooooove me some Simples. As does my daughter, the humane vegetarian who will no longer wear shoes that she thinks had anything to do with animals, ever. Simple makes several “vegan” options that incorporate hemp and recycled tires and probably the hair of peaceful hippies, and they’re just as comfortable as the rest of their shoes, to boot. Definitely check those out if you haven’t seen them before.

My name is Mir, and I love flowers
I know that fresh-cut flowers are kind of a waste of money, and I know it’s more environmentally friendly to, you know, let them continue growing in the ground instead of sitting in a vase on my table, but I can’t help it: I love flowers. I love having fresh flowers in the house. There, I said it.
Apparently I enjoy being a girl.
Anyway, I’m willing to eschew flowers for most of the year, you know, for the aforementioned reasons. But for Mother’s Day, I’m willing to kill a few flowers. Ahem. So I keep an eye on the FTD Mother’s Day specials, and maybe point them out to my husband, or maybe mention to no one in particular that they’re doing the buy a dozen roses, get another dozen free promotion again, oh hey, look at that. So interesting.
And then I bat my eyelashes a little.
