Happy birthday, happy Wiiday

Today is my husband’s birthday. Feel free to harass him if you know him in real life. (Love you, honey!)

Today is also the day that Amazon is doing Wii specials all day in the Gold Box, which means today may be the right day to stock up on games.

You can scoop up Star Wars: The Force Unleashed all day long for just $25.98, but keep an eye on those Lightning Deals for great buys on some other titles throughout the day, as well.

What’s better than half-off?

How about 90% off?

Remember the giant half-off sale at Figleaves? They’ve gone back and slashed the prices on everything again, with a huge amount of inventory down to 90% off the original price. Use coupon code WEL5 to get free shipping on your order, too. (Sorry, looks like the code was pulled. But shipping is $4.95, so not too bad.)

I need some new pajamas so I was browsing around, but I am paralyzed by choice. And also by all of those skinny models.

It’s starting!

If you shopped Amazon last year around this time, you may remember that in December the crazy toy deals began. And sure enough, the prices are starting to fall. Which means I’m burning the midnight oil.

A few goodies, categorized for you:

Games:
The Dangerous Book for Boys Game for $10.99 (45% off, though everywhere else is selling it for $25)
Diamond Anniversary Scrabble for $14.99 (57% off)

Robots!:
I-Sobot Robot for $59.99 (67% off)
Star Wars Interactive R2D2 Astromech Droid Robot for $69.99 (59% off)
WowWee Talking Tribot for $59.99 (40% off)

Remote control:
Assorted Air Hogs are marked way down
Street Troopers Mobilized Attack Vehicle for $17.99 (70% off)

For girls:
Melissa and Doug Multilevel Wooden Dollhouse for $59.99 (63% off)
Littlest Pet Shop Digital Organizer for $17.99 (49% off)
Gourmet Cupcake Maker for $16.99 (43% off)

File under just plain cool:
Snap Circuits Pro SC-500 is currently $19.89 + shipping from a 3rd party supplier, but the regular price is around $70—still a huge bargain even with shipping. My son got Snap Circuits last year for Christmas and they were hands-down his favorite gift.

Keep ’em busy, old school

I never owned the original set of Colorforms. But I was always jealous of a friend of mine who had them. I had a Raggedy Ann and Andy set, though. I liked to make Andy wear Ann’s dress. (Hey, when I was six that was hilarious. Don’t judge.)

Anyway, the original Colorforms set is still 350 pieces of clingy fun, and right now it’s down to just $10.99 at Amazon (67% off). This would be perfect for your upcoming holiday travel, no?

Because who doesn’t love Colorforms? Maybe that creepy Snuggle fabric softener bear, the one who’s always promising no static cling. But no one besides him, I’m pretty sure.

For your sports nut

I don’t really know how good the deals are, with this one, because the truth is that I have non idea what most sports stuff should cost. So grab a grain of salt before you click over, if need be.

Regardless, over at Footlocker.com, they’ve got two coupons going this month. Either use coupon code IPFL8N35 to get free shipping on your $50+ order, or use code LKS18C29 to take 20% off your $99+ order. (I don’t think the coupons can be stacked.)

It looks like the Outlet is well-stocked, so maybe you can find something sporty there that you’ve been wanting. Like… ummm… sports things. Clearly I am out of my depth, here. Good luck.

Don’t forget those daily deals!

Hopefully this isn’t going to become too annoying, but I know how hard it can be to keep track of all the places offering special goodies each day, so I’ll try to highlight the stuff that looks good.

One of the Drugstore.com deals of the day today is the Struxx Basixx set for just $14.99. (The same set is currently $27.16 at Amazon.)

And speaking of Amazon, their Video Game Deal of the Day is that if you buy a Playstation 3, you get Little Big Planet for free. I’m not a gamer so I don’t really understand why the PS3 is supposedly so superior, but I do know that LBP has been getting rave reviews. (Pssst! Don’t forget to check the Gold Box! Today’s deal is Monopoly Here and Now for 63% off!)

Don’t forget to check the St. Nick’s Pick every day at Lands’ End—today it’s cashmere sweaters, and that link gives you free shipping (on anything, not just the daily pick), too.

It was 23 degrees here this morning. I sure hope Santa sees those sweaters. Just sayin’.

All aboard, on the cheap

If you got in on that train table deal I posted a while back, now’s your chance to outfit it! eToys has the Yukon Express 100-piece train set marked down to $29.99 with free shipping. It’s got absolutely everything you need—trains, tracks, signs, etc. And when you add it to your cart, the coordinating train station will be added to your order for free.

That’s $95 of train fun for under thirty bucks shipped. I’m pretty sure that makes you a very useful engine.

Just like chocolate and peanut butter. . .

… savings and free shipping are two great tastes that go great together.

The last time I brought up Coldwater Creek y’all made me laugh really hard; it was gratifying to know that I wasn’t the only one confused by the difference between the online store and the brick-and-mortar one. So thank you for that.

Still, I continue to dig the online venue (particularly when I just need a little something-something for a friend… there’s always great jewelry and scarves and such in the outlet), and now they’ve got a holiday-worthy coupon for us. Through December 15th, 2008, use code WXH6276 to get 25% off and free shipping, regardless of your order size. (Thanks, pretty Tracy!)

Her very own house

I’ve been having a really difficult time deciding what to give my daughter for Christmas; she’s at that age where she’s outgrown most toys but can’t quite by appeased with cool clothes.

Maybe I’ll get her the Playskool Rose Petal Cottage, for those times when she says she wishes she lived alone. I mean, I think under forty bucks is awesome for a house! [Edited to add: Bonus deal—buy the cottage, choose an accessory for half-off, too!]

What’s that? Oh, you’re probably right. Might be a little cramped for her. And she might roll her eyes. Oh well… just a thought.

I bet your little girl would love it, though. Assuming she’s a little younger than mine….

Even more $5 goodness at Threadless

If you checked out the holiday sale at Threadless when I first posted about it, you may have been disappointed at the slim selection of $5 tees (I know I was). But they’ve since marked down a bunch more, and now there are over 200 t-shirts for just $5 available on the site.

Threadless Ts make great stocking stuffers at this price! (Um, unless you’re a member of my family, in which case, let’s pretend you didn’t read that. Go practice your surprised face, mmkay?)
